Always loved ABBA, lots of great songs written by Björn and Benny to match the girls voices perfectly. Try Dancing Queen or one of their divorce songs, The winner takes it all or Knowing me knowing you.
One thing I noticed yesterday watching Abba live in concert performance is HOW DIFFERENT the most popular musicians LIVE ARE TODAY VS. THE 70'S / Very little choreography onstage / no dancers / no big routines / no EXTRAVAGANCES audiences nowadays expect in a concert . Just the band . and singers & ad-libbing dance moves . I do enjoy your reactions PMD ...
you should try The Visitors. it's very different. Dark and sinister lyrics and theme but with a dance-y vibe. it's very interesting and though provoking.
Abba started making promo clips (videos) in 1973. MTV started 1981. Most of their videos were extreme low budget, sometimes filmed several in one day. Probably all of Abbas 30 something videos together cost less than one "normal" video, maybe with the exception of their last two that was made around the MTV start.
Liked your reaction very much. But if you like ABBA disco and bass, you must definetily listen to "Lay all your love on me ". UNFORTUNATELY this one has no video, but it is definetily a killer. All best from Germany
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude I think you might also like "If It Wasn't For The Nights" and "That's Me". Also, don't miss "Move On", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" and "SOS"
React to their music video Chiquitita. You could also react to some ABBA songs covered by A-teens, a late 90's teens band who I think ABBA themselves produced and were pretty popular at the time. If you do start with Mamma mia.
Thanks for the ABBA. Well your a stronger man than me. It took you a whole 8 seconds before smiling. But I bet they get you next time. If you like bass react to "One Of Us". IMO their best bass line.
You NEED to listen and react to 3 songs by 2 separate artists,, Abba__The winner Takes it all,, LISTEN to the words, and Elvis Presley, In The Ghetto and If I can Dream,, listen to the words and look up the history of the 2 songs, you WILL NOT regret it.
Please, do yourself a favor and react to Erasure’s cover of this track! Messers Andy Bell & Vince Clarke do all 4 parts in a direct parody. You’ll love it I know it. Especially if you see it while this one is fresh on your mind. Know you are loved!
Listen to Erasure's EP "ABBA-esque", 4 ABBA cover songs - and done brilliantly. Especially check out the video for Erasure's version of this song. YOU WILL LOVE IT! :D
Good morning again I enjoy with your reaction to ABBA "Take a chance on me" is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world, and one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music (They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end) the blonde Agnetha is the lead vocal, her voice is so powerful, in perfect armonies and chorus with Anni Frid in co-leads vocal (and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance') the guitarist and songwriter Björn got the idea while hiking or jogging, by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to "take a chance" and so the song was born Although it is a disco pop, it is like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying and addictive In the video the absolute center is the girls, very suggestive A clarification: it was filmed a month after Agnetha's second motherhood, so she had not yet recovered her pre-pregnancy figure I hope You continue with ABBA songs or videos to react I don't know how much do You know or listen about ABBA my Top 5 is S.O.S. Dancing Queen Waterloo The winner takes it all Thank you for the music (You could chose one of this) My best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina
Check out Frida’s ( the brunette) solo hit from 1982 called “ there’s something going on.” It’s a fantastic song produced by Phil Collins who also plays drums on it. It’s also a great video!
not really and not exactly "Hep Stars" (the previous group of Benny in the 60s) was called 'The Beatles of Sweden' but ABBA have your own stile and identity: the 'ABBA sound' anyway, I love both BEATLES: máster of the 60s decade ABBA: master of 70s decade both in the Podium of Rock Pop music
Firstly, i love Take A Chance On me as I adore the acapella harmonies then into that synth bleep. It's a masterful pop song that just builds and builds and you can hear those whirling beautiful keyboards, the harmonies, the rattling drums and all sorts of instrumentation. But PLEASE check out one of heir final singles 'The Day Before You Came' **** It's beyond haunting and absolutely killllller! I URGE you! ALSO, one last thing, haha. If you love this track 'Take A Chance On Me' check out Erasure's cover of it which is different but really great!
every song they made is unique so it will be a surprise every time. They are the best ever! The baselines are always gorgeous! They were pioneers in the studio.
I think my favourite ABBA song is ‘fernando’.... There’s one about flying like an eagle which is stunning. The feeling behind the vocals is just so beautifully sad... if you know what I mean. That’s one of the things ABBA does really well, putting so much emotion into a song.
Your reactions always put a smile on my face, I'm sorry this one conjured up some sad thoughts for you, however, please know that you are bringing others joy with what you do - Thank you!
Take it from me, Pancake, moments of joy - however fleeting, make a life full of heartbreak worth living! This song reminds me of the secret Benny crush I had at the time. He being one of the Bs in ABBA!
There is a great song on the general topic. ua-cam.com/video/f3eIWx5I5p4/v-deo.html Not in English, though there are translations available. lyricstranslate.com/de/demo-letzer-tag-demo-last-day.html The dancing, however is incredible, and doesnt need spoken words ... (the singer/songwriter lost his wife to cancer, then, a week later, his brother to a car accident or something similar)
This video is weird but fun. Lasse Hallström directed most of their videos. He later made movies like What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Cider House Rules and Chocolat.
If somebody took a chance on you they would be winners. Love those dazzling teeth. Think you should get your ABBA wig out.... have fun keep smiling Erasure have done a take on this... outrageous!
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude Not really true...while Swedish is their first language, they knew English fairly well and 3 of the members are actually quite fluent in English.
Check out FRIDA'S I KNOW THERE'S SOMETHING GOING ON!! IT'S AWESOME..BIG HIT WHEN SHE WENT SOLO IN THE 80'S!! PHIL COLLINS COLLABORATED ON TJE ALBUM WITH HER!!
They didn't go "all haywire with the visuals" in part because during the seventies videos were not a big thing. People heard songs on the radio and didn't expect songs to be accompanied by a video to be judged on merits that might even overshadow the song. That wouldn't come until the early eighties. In the seventies, people weren't aware that videos could even be a thing and likely weren't aware that this song even had an accompanying video. I certainly wasn't. People weren't even aware that Queen's now-famous "Bohemian Rhapsody" video existed; they just knew the hit song from the radio.
Can't go wrong with Abba. It would be nice if someone would react to some of the black 80s artist. Like: CAMEO - WORD UP PEBBLES - GIRLFRIEND SHIRLEY MURDOCK - AS WE LAY MIDNIGHT STAR - OPERATOR DONNA ALLEN - SERIOUS COLONEL ABRAMS - TRAPPED
The more ABBA you hear, the more difficult it will get to keep it a Top 3 list. I always feel it strange to tell someone to 'get over' a heartbreak and I'm not good at giving motivational speaches, so maybe you just check out some Divine, probably "I'm so beautiful" or "You think you're a man" would be the right choice to start.
I grew up listening to ABBA. My mother loved them. :) For me my Fav is Waterloo. Fan of Ace of Base to. Think that next to the Brennen clan (Enya, Clannad, U2) that family is one of the most talented today.
"ABBA - Lay All Your Love On Me" could become your new favourite
