Wow, what a fantastic job they’ve made of this. Music, graphics and playability are all there. One of my favourite “just one more go” games. I still dust off my colecovision every now and again just to play Mr. Do. Great job. Thanks for uploading.

This has been a very very long time coming. I can see me needing to download this immediately so I can play it. Looks as good as it could on the Speccy and the Ay rendition sounds arcade authentic so yes :)

Absolutely LOVE this game! I'd been eagerly awaiting its release for years. Mark and Adrian did such an amazing job with it, including the cassette artwork too. The attention to detail and commitment to arcade accuracy is so impressive!
It has to be said that Farmer Jack (2006) was already an excellent Mr Do clone, but this is finally the real deal! True Mr Do on the Speccy! :)
The only real change from the original is the level layouts: the arcade game was 4 squares narrower and 2 squares taller. The Speccy is wider, but it's actually more attractive that way, so it's all good! :)
Oh and I had a tiny bit of input with this game myself: the day before it was released, Mark uploaded a video of it being played, and I noticed that when you collected cherries, the 8 notes were going up in semitones, but it's meant to be whole tones of C major ("Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do!").
Probably no one else would have noticed or cared, but to me (a musician) this was a massive deal as those notes make the game feel really cheerful. I bugged Mark about it and they fixed it right before release! :-) Phew, just in time LOL
This reminds me of the issue: how do you actually pronounce Mr Do!? Is it 'doo' or 'doh'? I think most people say 'doo' but I say "doh" because
    a) It's a Japanese game, and
    b) To me, the game is all about those 8 notes: Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do!

Good call with the notes!! It would have stood out like a sore thumb.

It’s Doo not Doh. Or at least that’s how it was pronounced in the UK when it was in the arcades.
One of the follow up games is called Do Run Run which in title is inspired by a song that has “you do run run” in the chorus.
I take your “do re mi so fa la ti” theory though.

Looks really good, especially for 1982... I remember Mark R Jones had a lot more credits back then, can't remember exactly for what, but I think it was like a seal of quality...

This game was written this year. The original arcade game was from 1982. Mark R Jones did the graphics for games such as Wizball, Total Recall and Tai-Pan.
