There is stuff called FRP sheathing that is better for a marine environment to use on the headliner. It is nice to see people bringing life back to old boats!
Yeah we are wishing we found an affordable alternative. Most of the sheets have mildew resistant primer on both sides, that soaked in pretty good. Hopefully that plus a dehumidifier will keep us from ripping this back out immediately. The headliner has been mostly done for over a year now and is doing doing pretty good with our additional batten strips. Thanks for watching!
It's coming along really nice. Two full time parents working on such a big project, kudos to you guys! Also, gotta give credit to those tiny hands scrubbing away.

Oh no not MDF !
We looked for many alternatives. What would you have used?
@@aboardladyhawk pvc bead board, the humidity and the slightest leak is going to destroy the MDF… sorry..
dont use nails or staples on trim it will only work loose over time then new problems again
I was hoping the adhesive would be enough. But now of got the right countersink and plug kit. I’ll be sure to go back and add a few screws!
I hope that beadboard is plywood because if it isn't youv just made a costly mistake 😟
PVC alternative was way too heavy at 1/2” thick and $200+ per sheet. Hopefully our paint system will help up out a bit.
