Hi Tyler, love the uncuts! In Florida I’ve mostly been a bank fishing pond hopper, but recently upgraded to a nice fishing kayak with pedal drive and standing capability. I will say the transition from pond bank fishing to lake kayak fishing has not been as easy as I anticipated. Have been very slow to find fish and usually just end up with a dink or 2 at best in a few hours. Don’t really have this problem in ponds! Recently put in a nice Garmin fish finder (with option to upgrade to a livescope transducer one day). I’m trying to improve on finding fish in a lake. Would love if you covered what a dude might do when wanting to navigate finding fish in a kayak on a lake. Thank you!

The time of day/conditions in that moment might matter more than anything in places like this…. There have been times I caught 2 fish in 3 hours then in the 4th hour all the sudden I’m hookin up left and right. And I didn’t switch up the lure one time.

Rods need to be more moderate. I use to use all lew's but there action are stiff. Dobyn rods are great yak rods. I understand ur sponsorship with lew's.

Question about the tournament. I see the identifier code CCTRF in the logged catches. What is the SKBB? I’ve registered and want to do things correctly but I’ve never been in an online tournament before.
That one was for the Strike King big bass tournament. You can have multiple identifiers in one photo, and submit one fish to multiple tournaments at once.

I would be first in the northern region for your tournament but I couldn’t get the fish to close their mouths so I got deductions on all of my fish😭
You gotta be patient with the fish man, no reason to take a picture that you know will get deducted

Either dark or light bottom, that’s all that matters. And yes it can matter a whole lot some days more than others

i just bought my first real fishing kayak, right now i’ve just got an archie wizard set up with a 10 lb anchor. Would you suggest a power pole over a traditional anchor?

Comments. I can see not bringing a net, but a paddle is unacceptable. Drop something in the water @ 1- 2 feet, in that yak, just step in the water. Also, maybe you're working the frog a little too fast. Just saying.

Every time I use mono or fluro on my baitcasters it back lashes no matter what settings I’m on idk how you do it man
might have something to do with distance off the water and the angle of the line to the fish. bass boats you are higher by alot including standing up. perhaps a way higher up set hook may help . Just an idea i would have no clue no boat no kyack. worth a try.

i have no patience for bed fishing but I've never tried the method you just did. let the bait sit in the bed for a couple of minutes and then start hoping it after she gets comfortable

When you get experience at yaking. You know to bring ur net, paddle, etc.. not because you going to use it. It's on man I really need my net to get what fell out. The main thing I use my net for is keeping the fish in the water. On a boat u have a live well. Get things in order and pull it out of the live well. The net is the live well.

For smallmouth in Great Lakes it seems not too beneficial. Everywhere else I’m fine with it. Would prefer to not box them though

I’ve never caught anything with a top water frog until the last 2 days. Top water is on fire in Oklahoma now. Probably the most exhilarating bites I’ve ever experienced bass fishing. Caught more 3-5lbers than I ever have, just in the last 2 days. Hopefully gonna catch my new PB soon.

is braid better line for throwing a frog or flourocarbon
yeah no stretch cuts through weeds as fluoro has stretch means you won’t get as hard hookset
