CGS get an anime it would be sooo FUCKING cool.
As cool as it would be, I feel they would have to alter it a little to avoid spoilers, and that it would only really be usable for season 2.
It would spoil a lot of it so I have an idea; a different version plays, omitting certain details and replacing them with something (idk something cool ig) until that particular detail is revealed in the story.
this would give spoilers so it could be the ending instead of the opening
Maybe alter it so it sorta leans towards foreshadowing the plot but also hides the main scenes (also I love how we’re discussing this as if we’re gonna make the anime)
Personally, I'm a fan of the last scene. Stronghart thought he had extinguished all fires of truth about himself, but Ryunosuke had lit the fuse and sealed his fate.
This was absolutely incredible. I think the most powerful part was the leash. Showing the progression of what we learn and who the real dog is. Kazuma going after Barok for being the Reaper, Klint in a moment of weakness using Balmung to kill someone who's escaped justice, Strongheart using Klint to kill even more targets, Strongheart setting up Genshin to take the blame while Klint tries to atone with his life, and finally back to the present.
and of course ending with stronghart letting go of the leash and getting blood onhis hands, because he's the real killer for most of these eaths even if he didn't do them himself.
I'm a Japanese fan who likes this game. I've never seen such a wonderful video! The expression of the illustration matches the game and this song very well. I am very happy that the wonderfulness of this game has been conveyed to foreigners. I love this video!!! Since I am using a translator, it may be a strange expression.

Imagine if Ryunosuke had never greeted Dr. Wilson in the first case, everything would have been different. The whole truth was revealed thanks to him, that's why he will be one of my best protagonists in life
Kazuma as the hound is genius then Iris's family portrait turning into Kazuma's too
BRUHHH THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW DEEP AND DARK BAROK AND ASOGI'S HISTORY IS!! I love how they contrasted Barok and Asogi in different sides to show how different they are and how they "hate" each other but in actuality they've just been manipulated by the same person as shown when Asogi was in the dog leash with all the other people like Klint and Genshin getting used by Stronghart. The light fading away from Asogi's lantern shows how he is coming to the darkside and letting the "demon" in him have control just like in case 4. Also the jury in Barok's trial being all the people used by Stronghart and all disappearing one by one is just PERFECTION chef kiss*
They're even in chronological order. First Klint, or the Professor, who Stronghart used to actually become Chief Justice in the first place. Then, when Genshin kills Klint, he gets Jigoku and Gregson to pin the blame of the Professor on Genshin, and have him "executed", before using Sithe to fake his autopsy report. Furthermore, he uses Jigoku to kill Genshin for real when it turns out there's a witness, and has Jigoku on one side, and Gregson and Brett on the other, forge Barok's reputation of the Reaper of the Bailey, with Jigoku being part of the assassin exchange program in Japan that allowed Kazuma to get there, and Gregson and Brett planning and executing the various assassinations in Britain. Finally, he set Kazuma and his manic thirst for revenge on the man who falsely condemned his father to death in an attempt to weasel himself out of the Reaper conspiracy, trying to pin it all on Barok.

I've been watching this on a daily basis, god it's so good
I love the part at the very end where Naruhodou looks Stronghart dead in the eye and clicks the lighter. If I were to guess the symbolism, it's that Stronghart has disposed of all the evidence and witnesses to his crimes (or otherwise stripped them of their influence), hence all the flames being snuffed. But then Naruhodou ignites one more flame, illuminating Stronghart's crimes.
Also, before the end, no one is even looking at stronghart until the end, when naruhodo sees all the lights being turned off/the evidence disappearing, and he recognizes that the true culprit is the one behind the stage
this art style is so crisp and clean and stylish that i want to fold it up and put it in my mouth, congratulations on your hands????

- also balmung's framing at 0:30 is the same as kazuma's at 0:57 and that makes me cry
- also also can i just say you draw a very very pretty barok, we love an emotionally-tortured victorian gentleman in this household
- recontextualising the flame being blown out in the original song as ryunosuke re-lighting it here is GENIUS. imagine plotting for years and years and it's all undone because one english student happened to say hello to a teacher he recognised one time and it got wildly out of hand from there
Ok but that last sentence just made me realize this game is much much crazier than the crazy I already thought it was.

If you stop there is a moment where Klint is the one holding the leash as he attacks a noble with his hound before the leash goes back to strongharts hand. I love that!😊
the subtitles at the end matched it PERFECTLY, the “good part” being that stronghart has erased everyone linked to the professor case, ryunosuke ruins his plan. i love this video way too much

I just realized something... In the part where Stronghart is holding the leash, the only ones with a taut leash, willingly attacking is Kazuma and Balung, while Klint and Genshin was passively standing there

dude your attention to detail and eye for visual symbolism is always so fucking good. i’m a huge sucker for dog moments. tfw you go on a murderous revenge spree that’s being orchestrated by the head of the british justice # JustDoggyThings. this video is so well edited, the timing of the music and the cuts, CRISP. your work, always so quality. phenomenal job!
This is easily in my top five (maybe higher) animatics now. The story telling, the use of evidence and off-screen events, the symbolism, the fact that it's in full colour, and just the detail in general. Like most. I think the best part is the dog collar scene but I want to point out something cool I noticed that I'm not sure is intentional but I love it either way.
The lyrics are obviously not connected to the game directly but the way the video presents itself makes it so that the song switches perspectives from character to character. It starts with Van Zieks' perspective before quickly switching to Asougi's but Asougi shares his perspective with Strongheart for the majority of the video. Then near the end it becomes purely Klint's perspective with the family portraits and ends with just Strongheart's.
While the lyrics may be symbolic to the plot and characters, what I'm trying to draw attention to is the order of the perspective switches. Why? Because the song is Shinigami. Reaper. I think that the perspective changes show the average player's idea of who the Reaper of the Bailey is throughout DGS 2. It starts with Van Zieks but Case 3 invokes the feeling that the Professor and the Reaper may be one in the same thus Asougi (granted it's Kazuma here not Genshin) becomes the new POV with Strongheart sharing it since you just know the guy is involved somehow. Then it switches to Klint and Strongheart individually since those are the final plot points revealed not counting Iris' family.
WOW the colors and the detail of the art style give this whole animation a very dramatic feeling! You clearly put a lot of thought into this and it's amazing to look at and analyze. Some things I've noticed that I think are neat:
Stronghart at 0:25 and Kazuma at 0:42 are in a very similar pose
The framing/composition at 0:29 and the marking on Genshin's finger where the ring once was in the following shot
Kazuma is in the the same pose as Klint behind him 0:31
Maybe a bit of a reach but looking at both Genshin and Barok at 0:47 almost looks like Barok is in a confessional
Kazuma is framed the same way at 1:00 as the hound is at 0:30
The lamp on the far right at 1:28 is the one Enoch Drebber was carrying when he encountered the professor
The use of lamps being put out and Ryuunosuke being the one to light a match, the use of the collar, and the use of smoke in the beginning, 0:51, and 1:10, ahhh this whole animation is just so well thought out!! Beautiful work :)
HOLY SHIT THIS IS I N S A N E!! I'M ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS! i especially love towards the end how Stronghart looks like he's relieved that he's kept everything secret about the professor, but then Ryuu's just there with the lighter looking at him like "bish i'm bouta end your entire career". and also the comparisons with the Klimt and Genshin family portraits, and how you depict Kazuma as a weapon Stronghart uses reminiscent to the "weapon" Klimt used, and just- liTERALLY EVERYTHING OMFG THIS IS SO GORGEOUS I'M SCREAMING!!!!
Going through my TGAA brainrot era at the moment and I'm probably gonna watch this 5 times a day for the foreseeable future. This is so well done on all counts, but the part from 0:50-1:05 is just STELLAR. The pain in the facial expressions & poses, the parallels between the various victims/beasts/masters, THE BASKERVILLE COLLAR AS THE NOOSE???? My god

But seriously, I know it's been said to death (haha very funny) but the symbolism and art of every frame oozes with perfection! Also, little ryunosuke trying to protect big, burly Barok makes me laugh every time.
i can't stop coming back to watch this there's just so much detail on every frame that keeps me wanting to really ponder over it, like, for example, the way that kazuma more often then not is not only looking at the camera but looking directly at the viewer/making eye contact, whereas barok more often than not is looking at the ground or towards the camera but past the viewer or off to the side all the choices you made are so fascinating, also the way kazuma's candle goes out while he's wearing his school uniform and then it goes out a second time again with the flame of justice, it's just So Much (honorary)
This is absolutely incredible and I'm going to watch it at least 50 more times

My girlfriend and I really started to get into this game after watching this video. We’ve played the first and second game and are currently on the last case.
Slowly beginning to understand this video has been such a delight. Every time something is shown or discovered in game that is in this video we’re always quick to call “SHINMIGAMI REFERENCE”
When I first watched this amv I hadn't actually played the game, but knew some friends were playing through and recognized the name. I was struck by how beautiful the color work and striking the linework and compositions were! I lacked the context to understand what I was seeing, but figured a lot of care went into what was being showcased plotwise and I was curious about playing the game myself.
After playing the game to it's near completion, I have to say that I'm in continual shock and awe over how brilliantly conceived and executed this video truly is. The game itself weaved an amazingly intricate tale all throughout it's storyline, and this video honors that by picking up those pieces and crafting its own elaborate tale. As I'm coming to the conclusion of my own playthrough, I'm revisiting this video yet again to be amazing at yet another detail that I previously missed or didn't comprehend that leaves me awestruck.
Truly I don't think I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy a piece of fanwork that has pulled me back in again and again quite like this one. An absolutely masterful love letter to GAA.

This is just all... a lot. In the best of ways. Like, wow. I'm just absolutely floored by this, how it's a deep dive into the trauma of the Asogi and van Zieks families. And it just reminds me of HOW GOOD DGS2 was and rekindles my love for the game and its characters. You just caught everything so spot on and UGH MY FEELINGS. I didn't get a good look at most of the images, but I could tell that they are well done and placed, representing the main plot. Also, I love the photo of Klint with his family and the Asogi family picture. A family that never came to be, and one that was destroyed. Also, the ending with Ryuunosuke and Strongheart was really good.

had saved this in my watch later months n months ago intending to watch it as soon as i finished tgaa myself and my god was it worth the wait. this is beyond stellar work!! caught myself stopping the video and examining each frame change because this is exploding with so much thought and meaning put behind it all! the dog and collar portion was especially noteworthy but i'm in awe of ALL the beautiful art in this animatic and its gonna play on my mind for a long while i think. fantastic job!!

Okay, WOW. WOW! This is so amazing, really. I am speechless. I've had to watch this about 5 times in a row to resist the urge to just keep pausing and savoring every last detail of every panel.
THE SYMBOLISM! The beginning made me ponder the concept of Barok turning to alcohol to cope with the traumatic loss of his brother. Honestly, I don't know how I never thought of that possibility before. The lyrics of the song filled with so much self-loathing paired with imagery of Barok looking so stressed and tired just resonated with me. I love how almost every panel with Asougi makes him look tired or scared. The expressions in general on all the characters are just so beautiful and add so much depth. I love all the different parallels you showed from the families ripped apart to Strongheart's victims to Genshin and Barok in jail.
There are very few PMVs (or AMVs) for fandom content that leave me reeling and happily pondering the depth of the characters I love so dearly. Yours is one of the few that fit into that category. It's an absolutely stunning video that I will absolutely be sharing with people as a commemerative "award" for finishing the second game. Because more people deserve to see and enjoy this.

The symbolism and imagery are so well interwoven - both with the plot of the game’s story and the lyrics of the song. This animation really fleshes out a lot of the character insight we have to infer in the game; the emotion and tension are both so strong, so it feels really fitting for all of the dramatic irony and parallels we see between the experiences of Kazuma and van Zieks. Absolutely stellar art (love all the colors and different lighting/shadows- I got chills!) thank you so much for putting so much thought, care, and effort into this and for sharing it!! :D

Originally I think the chorus part with the switches between the dog and Asougi is my fav(it's still good, surely an awesome part!), but after so many times of rewatching I actually think the last part that Ryuunosuke lighting the match really got me!! Especially the play with lyrics... The "we were getting to the good part" in the original song is Reaper's line, hinting the death of that human, right? But in this vid you've used it as Ryu's gonna reverse the case, THAT'S JUST SOOOO WOW I LOVE THAT SO MUCH

GOD it's all so good!! this is one of the most impressive aa fanworks i've ever seen, i'm totally in love!!!
losing my mind over how good this is ! props for matching the timing of the song so well while pairing it with emotional/thematic beats at the same time, the gorgeous illustrations and the very well (re)used smoke animation, this is some smart arrangement and the end result is beautiful !
