- in this video I am playing against my GOLFING HERO - OMP who in my humble opinion the best golfer on You Tube. He is 80 years old with 50 years CAT 1 experience.
We play a 4 hole match, playing 2 HARD holes & 2 EASIER holes at Chorlton cum Hardy GC where Pat gets 11 shots & I would get 7 based on the handicap index & slope rating.
OMP has blagged 2 shots from me playing for the normal fiver.
I will need all my short game skill to DEFEAT The Master. Pat has lost distance recently but makes up for this with consistency off the Tee, being a fairway finder & also playing to his strengths & using his local knowledge.

I just hope I make it to 80. OMP fit as a fiddle.
I'm still playing at 81, twice a week. You need to forget you were ever 28 years old with a 7 handicap and settle for those 80 and 90 somethings. OMP has done a good job acknowledging reality.
I really enjoy when you & OMP play together because you can tell you are great friends.

@@GolfMates Move went well thanks. I'm a Yorkshireman but we've lived in the US quite a while. We moved to an island on the NW coast of USA called Anacortes. Not too far from Canada. Now I need to find another group of golfers to play with in this area. Prior to this we were in Seattle.

Mr. Pat is a legend and a video with him is always grand. When a match finishes all square it was set up even. If I had your golf game, Mr. Liam , there are only 2 tweaks I would make and I would be a 5 or less, or maybe even scratch golfer. As always the team is doing a great job. Much respect to Mr. Joe for his ability with the videos.

I love it when OMP responds to a few of Liam's complaints with "I feel sorry for you." My response to the same comments is "if you want me to feel sorry for you, you need to change the subject to something besides golf."
Played with an 83 yr old gentleman on Sunday. He played off low figures for sometime and still plays off a good mid handicap. He wasn't pleased with his game but he has beaten his age on several occasions. Great company and very knowledgeable both about the game and our course. Brilliant day.

Liam , just got to tell you that with a similar handicap I’d been going thru some tough times like you had, with less belief in my swing- makes it harder to enjoy at times. But a few hints and tips you’ve shared on golf mates have really helped, the Zen thing, the lifting the left heel, holding the finish. So thanks , won the club champ net medal at the weekend! (Now I’ll be wondering ’why’!). Don’t forget to come to Devon one day, be happy to welcome you to Okehampton GC!

I occasionally play with an 82 year old, he hits it about 150-160 yards straight down the middle and has a short game to die for, despite being 19 years younger and 50-60 yards longer I haven't beaten him yet

Great shirt Liam. Could watch and listen to the Legend all day. Think you need to go back and check the scores on the 3rd hole you played. Then again just give Pat the fiver!
I like the shirt Liam. I always have a Polo shirt or two that have a Hawaiian theme to them! When Phil Mickelson had his own line of Polos in the mid 1990's...Fairway Blues....that were Tie-Dyed polos..I owned a couple of them. They were so comfortable!!! I also like Greg Norman's polos!

Great looking shirts ,got to love OMP he knows his game inside out and everything to his advantage , can't blame him has to very near the top for his years he is so easy to watch even if the filming can't keep up. Liam never heard you say about the wedges before be interested to see if you get on with a hybrid or a iron similar to ronseal to gap between your 4 iron and 5 wood. Keep safe and well golfmates
