I was a student of Ed’s and roadied for a few SA gigs in Bergen Co and NYC in 92-93. Kept a bunch of these demo tapes thinking the music might be lost otherwise so it’s beyond awesome to find it here for everyone 1:29 “They barely conceal the harm that they deal out with a reel, they cast - for souls…” 👏🏼😆 Damn
Wow! Great to hear this in it's entirety again after decades! I may still have this one on cassette somewhere...but before this there was a kick-ass 3 song demo that my tape player consumed. Would really love to hear those tunes again.
All these years I wondered what happened to this band! Great writing. Great musicians. Great drummer (I'm a drummer). Great vocals. Waaay ahead of its time. Progressive punk funk hip hop metal. I had recorded it off WSOU college radio onto a tape mix in the 90's but never heard from them again. Thanks for posting this. Tragic that they never got their due.
They were at the recording contracting signing table & the label sprung on them in the 11th hour & said they wanted their lawyer to coordinate the bands music, basically tell them how to write their songs & how to structure them etc. There was a couple million dollars on the line & they walked away. Ed said "no one is going to mess with my creativity". That takes balls, because most people would've taken the $$$.
You are a fucking metal GOD!!! Ed Fuhrman, the guitarist, was my guitarist's teacher way back in high school. I still have the cassette of this killer music. I can confirm that the drummer was someone by the name of Vic. That's all I remember as it was almost 30 years ago. But I never forgot these songs. They still ring in my head!!! \m/
And of course Vic was a complete MONSTER on drums. He was decades ahead of his time. They did say that he was mentally unstable. I believe it, considering his abilities!!! \m/
Just reliving it.....thought of your band.....damn such a great sound. Again great drum tech experience. Vic was the best drummer incorporating funk, prog, metal...just pushing the genre to a new level.
I had the great pleasure of watching System Addict rehearse in one of their basements back in 1991.
Some lovely Voivod-Esau’s elements in there.

This should never be forgotten.

WooHoo! It only took 30 years to find this again. Well worth it.

That's not Mike on drums though.
