    I don't like riding you friend but have you ever seen one of those cutting wheels explode ? You really have to think about looking after yourself with PPE so you don't lose an eye or worse. I was in trades for many years , one day you're going to find out the hard way. Just something to think about , you're a smart young guy , hate to see you get messed up.

    Hi Bert. I had a trailer like that.I didnt blow the tires but bent the axle pretty bad. Bert, i learned the hard way. Always wear safety glasses, its cheaper than the eye doctor,( to get the metal out of my eye). Always wear gloves, good leather ones, its cheaper than doctors stitches. Man, id spring for some good work boots. Hot slag on toes sucks. Scrap iron and crocs dont get it. I like wearing work boots. Mine are comfortable. Rev.

      Hi wreckless. Im a mechanic and hate gloves. I never wear them. Only when welding, i always wear them, now. I was building a woodsplitter from scratch. One that attatches to the front of a bobcat. Using a 7in. grinder, the grinding disc exploded. A big chunk flew by my head knocking my hat off. Another big chunk slapped the back of my hand. Lucky i had welders gloves on. My hand swelled up and was black and blue. It was sore for a month. No glove=emergency room. Now when grinding a always wear gloves. I have three grinders, and use them often. Rev.

    • @ScrapFarm
      @ScrapFarm  5 років тому

      @@waynegouin939 I'm with Reckless.... if you use the right hand side of the disc and shoot the Sparks at you making the grinder pull away from you you will never explode a disc the only time they explode is when you use the left hand side of the disc and it jumps skips bounces... on those rare occasions when you are using it correctly it can explode when the material you're cutting pinches the disc but then that's operator error. Glad you didn't get hurt and yeah you should wear gloves all the time when you're grinding or welding or doing anything but I can't feel s*** with gloves on and I can barely hold on to the tools with gloves on... so to each his own we all got our own ways
