That was a great part of the video. I was familiar with the term from the New Testament, Romans 8:15, "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (KJV)
The word comes from Aramaic.
Excellent content, Tal. New to the channel and I have been really enjoying watching your videos.

I’m from a village on Mount Hermon that is mixed Muslims and Christians. My village is geographically divided between Lebanon and Israel but our citizenship is Lebanese. And currently it’s empty due to the ongoing war. My late grandma used to tell me stories that before 1948 she used to ride a mule from our village to Safed to do shopping and buy items. She used to tell me about the Jewish community in Safad, and my grandma used to pray lots of kabbalistic Mezuzah prayers.

Tzfat is one of those mystical places in Israel that has one foot in reality and one foot in the spirit world. It’s an unique artsy place that I’ve been to twice, and I’m drawn to when I visit Israel. It’s a spiritual experience to visit Tzfat.

I’m a direct descendant of a Jewish maternal lineage from ancient Judea and Samaria regions. I found out there are cousins that are from West Bank from Muslim and Christian heritages too. Perhaps a portion of Palestinian people are descendants of colonized Jewish that lost their identity. Something to consider
A majority of palestinian are ethnically Jewish, considering both Arab and Palestinians are not genuine ethnicities from the levant!
@@TheTravelingClatt I never realized that until recently. It adds a whole new level of complexity to the existing conflicts. I wonder if Chabad will open a house in Nablus? 😉
A great book on this subject is "Brother Shall Not Lift Sword against Brother: The Roots and Solution to the Problem in the Holy Land" by Tsvi Misinai. The author goes into great detail about the origins of the people who live in the Holy Land who have roots there from the beginning of the Common Era.
@@TheTravelingClattno they are ethnically Arab. Fakestinians don't exist. Notzrim might have genetic links but Muslims do not
"Jewish populations found the Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews clustered with Cypriots and were situated between Druze, from Israel, and Armenians. Other Levantine populations, such as Lebanese and Syrians were slightly more distant from these Jewish populations, while populations further south in the Arabian Peninsula, Palestinians, Jordanians, Bedouins from Israel, and Saudis were even more distant.
Another study analyzed three Lebanese populations, Christian, Muslim, and Druze and found that Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews clustered with Lebanese Christians and Druze. Lebanese Muslims fell close to Syrians. A statistical analysis of world populations revealed a Levantine component dominant in Anatolian, Iranian, Armenian, Cypriot, Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, and Lebanese Christians and Druze, in contrast to a Middle Eastern component that was dominant in Bedouins, Saudis, Ethiopians, and Moroccans. These cluster on the Mediterranean coastal region and the Northern Fertile Crescent in contrast to the Arabian and North African regions."

Self-delusion is rampant.
Why do you promote the state of occupation and apartheid if you are fair in portraying aid to the Palestinians who live in what they call the State of Israel?
What occupation? Both live in the area. It’s just Jew live there 1st based on archeological evidence then muslim ottoman conquered it, now Jews came back after ottoman fall.
Cry me a river or a sea😂😂
Please explain what is occupied? As Palestine never existed as a sovereign nation.
*What land is occupied?*
▪︎ The former Ottoman land?
▪︎ The expired British Mandate lands?
▪︎ The illegally annexed Jordanian land?
▪︎ The colonized Egyptian land in Gaza?
▪︎ The land Israel won back from Egypt and Jordan in a defensive war?
*So, what land is occupied, and from Whom?*
Awesome, insightful vid as always
There is no such thing as Palestine. The Roman Empire used the term Syria Palestina to rename the regions of Judea Samaria and Galilee and many years later the British Empire named those regions as British Mandate Palestine. In fact the truth is that it is ISRAEL.
There were Palestinian all the way back from book of Genesis and there were philistines too
What high school did you go to? I went to Olympic Heights.
so NATHAN is pronunced as NA-TAN! not NEY-THAN! thanks!
Not all Palestinians are Arabs some are arabised canaanites and Jews some are actual samartians that was forced to convert to Islam
And how odd it is.. Christians there are more connected to the land then most Muslims by root and culture and so on

~29:00 You are incorrect. There is OFTEN depictions of various animals in synagogues (and on gravestones too). They are not seen as "idols".
He said that they are not in the direction of prayer as it might seem that one is praying towards an idol as opposed to our creator.
@@hershyaltman84 One guy said they rarely see animal figures in synagogues but that isn't true. We often see depictions of animals. Doesn't mean we pray to them as idols or anything. For example the lion ) of Judah.

Who lived in Palestine before the Jews?
I would love to see a genetic comparison between the Egyptians and what they refer to as Canaanites. The answer to your question is probably mostly Canaanites, but there would have been Assyrian and others mixed in. Arabs were East of the Israeli area. There was no “Palestine” but Philistines (proto-Greeks) lived on the Western boarder, next to the Mediterranean. Egypt took people from the area where Israel is, to be slaves. So the Israelites were likely Canaanites.
Canaanites
Whoever the migratory arnabs will be larping as next.
Cannanites?
Netufians?
Cro magnons?
Neanderthals?
Homo erectus?
Historians now believe that it's very clear that Israelites actually were Canaanites who broke away and eventually became monotheistic. So Jews descend from Canaanites. The Canaanite DNA found in some "Palestinians" is from their having both Jewish and more recent Lebanese ancestry, among several other ethnic ancestries. They're not a separate ethnic group, though they are on their way to becoming one. (Hey, it's how it happens!) Anyway, another group that was I think before the Canaanites or contemporary with them were the Jebusites.
What do you mean by saying Palestine? Palestina Prima e Palesstins Secunda, the provinces of the eastern Roman empire aka Byzantium? Syria Palestina, the province which was created by the Hedrian the Roman Emperor. After his army crashed the Jews in the third Jewish-Roman war in 136 CE he renamed the Roman province Judea into Palestina and united it with the Roman province called Syria. It was an ancient widespread practice of ''committing a genocide'' -- killing the people and renaming the land. The reason he renamed Judea into Palestina was probably cuz he liked the great Greek culture and was very angry with the Jews so he renamed the Jewish land after -- according to the Bible -- their arch-enemies, Philistines. Probably u r talking about Pelesht, a coastal 'kingdom' located mostly in the area of modern cities of Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ashdod. In Pelesht lived Peleshtim aka Philistines. Most likely Philistines were of Greek origin, they were part of the Sea People who conquered the land from the Egyptians at the end of the Bronze Age. There is a theory that the word ''Peleshtim'' has the Semitic root פלֵשׁ, the Hebrew word 'pulesh' (פּוֹלֵשׁ) is literally an invader.
Modern Arabs who call themselves Palestinians have close to nothing to do with ancient Philistines, culturally, linguistically, genetically, u name it. The same thing is true about modern Jews. The Philistines were not the dominant ethnic group in the Levant. However, as the people they kept their presence in the region for about 500 years and their historical legacy is important.
The jews that were exiled were not the same jews that had returned.
Zionazis will hide this very fact.
What is satan yahoo real last polish name?

Regarding the skin color conversion at 17:40. the ashkenazi Jew is here. I am from Belarus, but I used to live in Israel for 15 years. So most of people didn't believe me I am a Belarusian jew, they were convinced that I am from Yemen or Morocco. Some magavnik cops sometimes were sure I am an Arab🙃
Ashkenazi are the descendants of Japheth, thus you can't be a Jew duh
@@stardel lol what are you, a 10 years old troll?
@@stardelno one asked you for your uneducated opinion
People who say that all Ashkenazy Jews are “white” seem to conveniently disregard the fact that one of the things that made it so hard for most Jews in Nazi Europe to “hide in plain sight”, as in, conceal their Jewish identity, was the distinctive Semitic or Mediterranean looks many of them had.
I sometimes tell them to look at any photograph of the young Holocaust victim Anne Frank, and then tell me if she could have easily passed for a native, non-Jewish Dutch person.
@@KathyPrendergast-cu5ci also if you look at immigration records, any time Jews wrote "Polish" it was crossed out and replaced with "Hebrew." In the 20s during mass migration out of Europe, Jews weren't considered full citizens of Europe.

Definitely an interesting walk-through this community. I think one of the greatest challenges with this part of the world are folks inability to acknowledge the other sides, lived experience. What is so difficult about acknowledging the fact that both Jews, Arabs, Palestinians, or whatever you want to identify it as have a shared experience with the land. Both communities have experienced great loss sorrow, and at the same time have contributed greatly to its rich history. I certainly hope there is a time in the future, in which both communities can share the space and acknowledge and reconcile a shared pain
