The galvanized bucket would look really cute. Put some rocks or bags in the bottom to lift it up. Add some greenery from ur yard and pretty fall leaves. Will look really good on ur front porch.

Walk a dirt road ditch to gather tall grasses, milkweed, maybe rosehip stems and for winter cut some evergreen braches to stand in it. You could even tuck in some mini lights.

The tall metal canister will be great for fall foliage. Place some small stones in the bottom for weight so it won't easily tip. Then stuff with newspaper or packing paper to desired height so the dried materials show off. The brown pod is a lotus pod and they look great in fall arrangements or even with pine branches and cones. You should be able to find all kinds of dried material, dried hydrangea, and grasses from friends gardens or even along the side of road or parking lot. Good luck!

Good Haul!!!! LOVE the Linen Tablecloth for the girls room!!!! The Big/Long Bucket you showed at the end, you can put this Green Spongy stuff at the bottom of it to give what you put in it Height! I don't know what you call it, but "Florists" use it ALL THE TIME!!!! You can buy some at "Dollar Tree". I've gotten it there before.

That was going to be my suggestion, too. Or pieces of foam/styrofoam. I’ve shoved wads of grocery sacks in the bottom of decor “vessels” before. Whatever you have on hand…maybe even old towels!

The little pot with a handle and hole in the lid that you called a bean pot is actually for steaming single serving veggies in the microwave. And the board with ridges is a "wash board" . This was used before electricity to scrub, wash clothes. Nice Haul!

For the tin umbrella holder, an idea would be to find the tassels on the tops of corn stalks and gather a bunch to put in it. Like some others have said, put something heavy in the bottom so it doesn't tip over. Maybe a pretty burlap or olive green ribbon around the top of the tin and voila! I just made a fall wall hanging with a bunch of corn tassels and some branches from our trees that haven't turned colour yet.

I can't figure out who is more adorable & cute. You are your adorable children! You even make a gunny sack dress look great. The billfold is tooled leather. The washboard is a decorator one. They actually used to use them to wash clothes on. Back in the day to wash clothes before automatic washing machines became a thing. The tin tall bucket, you could put something under the sticks & things you elevate it up & gather some more sticks. I love your videos, so refreshing you love the old things. I grew up around so much of it. I take it for granted & my things are now on trend!

Hi. First time watching and am enjoying your thrifting discoveries. I haven’t read any comments but thought you’d like to know that Edna Ferber and Booth Tarkington were both prolific writers. I think both have had books turned into movies. If you are a reader, you may enjoy reading them as well as using them in your displays. I personally love decorating with books. I’ll be subscribing and look forward to more of your hauls.

  • @tammyr6669

Great haul! I love all the books and great price! I would stuff bags or anything into the galvanized umbrella holder to raise up and use the pumpkins, honeycomb, and spray paint the sticks black and maybe add a couple larger branches from your yard, painted black, and have a Fall/Halloween decor for now. You could decorate with a small evergreen for Christmas! So many options.
Pop up shop...YES! Maybe start with a booth at a vintage/antique shop while the kids are younger and build your inventory. Just a thought. Tfs! ❤

Hi Kristen ~ You ladies that video your trips to the Goodwill Bins… the things I see , I feel so bad they are going into a landfill . I think a little Shop would be great. Do you watch “ Julie’s Designs and Signs?” She decided to start selling on-line and she finds homes for all those amazing items. I’m thankful because I buy from her and save the stuff. We don’t even have a Goodwill near us.
Add more branches from around your yard to add to your bucket. OR put plastic bags to the bottom to bring height to the ones you have in it. Nice find in the books! The Blue ones looked nice in the room you were sitting it. Matched the blue/white vase behind you.
How pretty was Ruby’s Copper Pot and the stand it went with 👍. LOL!!!

When you were going through the plates, the one with the big yellow/gold flowers around the edge I laughed with recognition. Those were sold at the grocery store back in 1979. With a certain purchase amount you could get them for like .99 each or something ridiculously low. My husband bought a few for his bachelor apartment before we got married. So funny to see that some have survived for over 40 years!

A pop up shop requires a little knowledge on the value of items you sell. Some books sell best if you have the whole collection! The Harvard Classics are great. Funny thing is that I just watched an old episode of The Waltons where a book salesman came around selling Harvard Classics with a monthly fee. John-Boy needed them for college too. Makes me feel kinda sentimental about them but I am a huge SAP when it comes to vintage and antique things ESPECIALLY BOOKS! We collect all the classics to read the original ones because over time they become abridged and that breaks my heart! We are HUGE readers/book lovers at my house! It is hard to think what sells best when you are used to buying only things you like most for your home. There are SO many UA-cam channels that can help you get an eye for what sells best and what is worth the turnover. Your little one was incredibly adorable showing you the copper pot. She is smart about things already! Has anyone ever told you that you look a bit like Cameron Diaz? You are beautiful!🍂

Nice haul. Your long bucket 🪣 just add like a riser at bottom or flower foam and a bit more stuff like fall leaves. It would look awesome. I think you should consider a pop up sale. Great idea 👍🤗🙋‍♀️🇨🇦👏❤️❤️

Check your old books to see if they’re first additions. If there is only one copyright in the front, they might be a first addition and potentially valuable. Edna Ferber was a very well known author back in the day.

That brown thing is a lotus pod. Your bucket and dried floral will look beautiful if you raise it up and undo it so that it is not not in such a tight bunch. Good finds.
