Heads up! Next time we play this we'll be doing it with more than 4 players. I think the gameplay will really work better with 5+. We're organizing a group now, and should hopefully have a episode for y'all by next week. ALSO! I hear the feedback on wanting to see the phone-screen's view. I'll see what I can do to record that and edit that in. -Ash
Now I wonder what the hints were, it would make the viewing experience easier if it was shown on screen instead of being secret, as long as the hint was the same for all players.
6:30 As a poly dude on Tinder, Aenne is absolutely right. When they started to talk about it, I opened up Tinder. In less than ten profiles I found a fish.
I think there's only two categories if the player count's less than 5. The fact that you guys were grouped between two is probably for balancing reasons. After all, three categories split between 4 people would produce a 2-1-1 split. 5 would probably go 2-2-1, 6 would do a 3-2-1, 7 would do a 3-3-1, and a full 8 would do a 4-3-1. (The 1 in these cases are for an outlier's category.)
When I read Aenne's first response on the last round, I forgot beer was a thing and read I.P.A as the International Phonetic Alphabet and got really excited that it would be a linguistical round
This game reminds me of the board game Spy Fall where everyone is at a secret location and one person doesn't know the location. The main difference if that the imposter in Spy Fall knows they're the outlier and they are trying to pick up context clues for what the location is so they can guess at the end. If the outlier guesses the correct location they win which forces everyone to be vague about their answers. I think a guessing mechanic in this game for the outlier would help make it more balanced.
Oh! Finally, Stumpt and JackBox is truly a classic. Edit: Saw the first run and this game does look interesting, like a different version, but more straightforward, Role Models… Edit2: I agree though, Outlier is definitely discriminated against, you only seem to be able to get points if others don’t…
For the sake of the UA-cam side of things only, it could benefit from a random person's device view. I say this to show how the game plays for the player as I'm someone curious about this and also someone with not enough friends to warrant getting these games myself to see. It could be portrayed in a small box to the lower or upper side of the screen in editing.
That was fun. I agree it would probably change the dynamic with more players so excited to see that. And I hope they do change the scoring because it doesn't really make sense that the outlier is also trying to figure it out but gets penalized if people guess correctly - if they don't know, they should get points for guessing like the others do, otherwise it's more like Spyfall where it's more deliberately the outlier trying to deceive vs the others trying to figure out. Also I agree the items within shared categories ideally need to be more consistent so the variance of the outlier is clear and there aren't other variances that look like they could be the outlier
This is fun! It reminds me kinda of The Liar Game, which is a social/party game where everyone in a big group gets like a card or piece of paper with something related to a category written on it, all the same word, and only one person gets something different. Then everyone takes turns saying what they associate with that thing on their card, kinda like you in this game with the answers. And everyone in the group then has to figure out who The Liar is. Like for example the category is food and everyone has banana on their card but one person has apple. So you can super easily just out yourself as being the Liar by saying 'I love this!!', but everyone else in the group happens to know that you hate bananas lol. This game works best with a larger group of people who know each other really well, like a friend group or family. Does anyone know what I am talking about or did I just type this whole paragraph for nothing lol.
that last round was so confusing for me because all of price's answers began with x so i thought he was the letter x, the ipa is a language thing and tomato tomato is about pronunciation. so i thought everyone was language things and then when it became clear that wasn't the case i thought jazzy was a bloody mary and thus fit in w/ people!
This game in the pack looks good. It does need a little more explanation for some things like the points system but I would love to see y’all play it again when it fully comes out
I don't know if Jackbox reads these comments, but it seems to me that the ability to "reroll" might actually lead to an unintended clue. If I choose not to reroll, I get no additional information, but if I do reroll, then both what I had and what I get will of necessity be in the same category, which gives me information on the categories that perhaps I am not intended to have. Mathematically, that would always have to be the case unless there were at least 6 people, in which case, if I am in a category with 2 other people, it is possible that the game could switch me categories. But if I'm the outlier, it doesn't matter how many players, I will get the same category and if I'm in a group with only 1 other person, then it likewise must keep me in the same category. I suspect, therefore, that you never switch categories. I like how they do it in Blather Round, being able to switch and choose from a different group of words and I suspect this might be something similar - if I'm not super familiar with something (Masked Singer, for example from the video), then a reroll is nice, but is it worth allowing that reroll if it changes the game mechanically? I think the game seems really interesting...Not sure if it is one of their best games simply because it seems that everyone sort of comes to a consensus together anyway...but could be enjoyable to play, even if the points don't really matter much in terms of "playing better" than someone else. I almost wish that they had made this more of a cooperative game somehow...
Hm! This game looks a lot like Spyfall but the spy has an outlier category from a different pack instead -- and with an additional mix of Two Rooms and a Boom!
This game doesn't seem too good for streaming, the audience is missing so much of the information that we almost can't even try to guess who's together.

Um, can us the audience play Hypnotorious too?

If the audience becomes a brain, I hope they make it look like a beehive, since it’s technically a “hive mind”.

Did it ever leave? /ref
For real though they showed sneak peeks for teeko 2 and fixy text already.

We understand you Aenne! The tindermen commeth, and they smell of their big fishes they caught!
Came down here to defend Aenne as well

Not really for 4 player. 4-player is 3-1-0, so there's only two catagories.
@@lethalty6055 "The fact that you guys were grouped between two is probably for balancing reasons"
@@lethalty6055that's exactly their point. It has to be 2 categories with 4 players because a 3rd category would create 2 outliers
It's incredible how jackbox can be so bad to explain their game !
@@matheoland It's me who was bad at explaining it, not Jackbox. Plus, the game isn't fully finished yet, this is still in beta.

This is a type game that would be perfect with a full roster. The more complicated it might get.

Let’s go, Owen Watson’s art style comes back again
And as much as I’m creeped out about stage hypnosis…I gotta admit this is some of owens best art yet.
It's so nice from the Jackbox Team to give y'all early access and ❤ to the team for making incredible games!
I have never played Jackbox but have always wanted to. Especially because Stumpt has so much fun with them
I get Aenna you're not alone!! I know about the Tinder men with fish.
I'm also with Aenne! I know about the guys posing with fish, and I'm not even on any dating apps, nor am I into men.
Oh this concept seems really cool!
Excited to see you play the new music game! My university (Central Michigan University, School of Music) did all of the sounds you hear
I heard! Congrats, and I hope y’all know how lucky you are for having this chance.
jackbox is always hype! Really curious what other new games will be included
All 5 games have already been announced my dude, look it up. All of them look incredible
And now I get to go watch the Jackbox playlist for the...week. Hope 130 episodes should make some good laughs for the week.
Love you all.❤
Aww Aenne missed their chance to be "Brainne" 😁
i saw jackbox tweet about you guys play this and it amazing like usual!
and aenne i understand you perfectly!
My answer for the first one: Hell is heaven, eveyone loves being there!
I UNDERSTOOD AENNE, I UNDERSTOOD!!!!
THANK YOU!!!! (Aenne)

Ha, this one definitely needs more time in the oven but the concept is interesting, I must say. Looking forward to more players.
Damn it feel like the party pack 9 came out just a year ago...
"Tinder men with fish" is one of the most well known memes out there!!
46:05 it is not gonna release on android mobile. So not on every platform. I have even asked the devs and they just ignored the question. :(
Huh. The pack game list didn't sound super enticing, but this one plays better than I'd expected. My hopes have been raised!

I know that animation of these games is only a garnish
But I really like it and would like to see more
More jackbox parties for my birthday month is my hope. (Usually comes out one week after my birthday.

24:46 Why'd you cut from one game to another? Did the game crash?
It did crash. We're using the early access build.
I'm not surprised, honestly. I was just surprised there wasn't mention of it in the video.@@stumpt
I was not excited to play this game.
I am now!

Identity crisis the game ✨
Aenne knows the deal:
What we gotta do is build momentum
If you need the right tools, invent them
I UNDERSTAND THE TINDERMEN AENNE! with thier damn fish and sunglasses and farmers tan, blech
So this is guess who roomerrang
Man I wish I had this many friends to play Jackbox!
This was great.
This game looks really fun! Super excited for it, even though I’ve never been a fan of social deception.
The *"Jackbox Game's: Theatre"* Where old and new *"Jackbox Game's"* are played 0:05
This gonna be so much fun, with more ppl. :D
Maybe they should make extra points available if people guess what exactly you are, or the categories, or something
I love Hypnotorius ❤
One of them is a genius and one of them is soup!!! 😂😂😂
Also, hypnotorious is a pretty great name
I love this game! Really looking forward to seeing more of this on the channel
the first one I 100% thought aenne was the outlier and that the categories were land animal or marine animal
the sun definitely has seen the moon 😭

What, did Jazzy and BrianJ fuse into one being in the second half there?
What kind of information does the secret hint provide?
Definitely not playing it when this comes out. I spill every bean in the jar everytime.
When is Jackbox getting released to Quibi?
Not me buying 10-9-8-6-5 on my ps5 😂😂😂😂

IS the tinder fish pic profiles NOT a well known thing?
So does everyone get the same clues or no?
I can really feel Aenne, Jasmine, Price and Ash coming inside of me with this one.
i didn't want to hear the guy explain the game anyway.
I think you guys are the second channel, rubbeross showed off tko 2
They’re the third, the second one was for fixy text with outside Xbox
