the river bed landing spot. the land bridge. day 18 on hardcore. i just bought the game like 4 days ago. waves are relentless lol holding onto hope with kel ... recently married to deformed woman. lol loved the first game. never was a paraglider or zipline dude. just trudged lol! currently loving the game!
I hoped so, when I saw it the first time... too bad it turned out that to build there is a nightmare. It's ok, if you just want to put down some forniture, but in winter you get cold, so I thought: "let's just build some walls and a roof". Both over and under the ground, there are random spots where the logs just drops on the floor (even if the icon say you can build there), or just disappears when planted. And it makes no sense to build around the shack, because it would just be a shelter like the others, with many more restrictions on the inside. And it also makes no sense, because there are a lot of enemies in that spot. In short: the cave is a good spot to put some resources, but not a good place to build. The best spots are still in the sea, on a cliff and pretty much every bunker/cave, if you don't mind the needed animation to get inside.

the constant attack takes away the spirit of survival a little and becomes something overwhelming, there isn't a day or moment when the creatures leave you alone, build to protect yourself, I'm very upset with this creature attack system, they should create one another system with more intelligence with space from one attack to the next in a time that we can at least create a barrier that works effectively, so far I'm trying to create and suffer attacks from advanced creatures, like they just jump over the wall and me kills with one hit.
I strongly recommend doing a custom game. You can adjust enemy aggression and frequency of attacks/patrols as well as adjust the timescale for days and season (the best is long days and realistic seasons in my opinion, it gives you much longer to build and gather resources between attacks and reduces stat drain so that food/water/energy upkeep isn't as demanding)
@@ultimaweapon991When we change the game's default settings I feel like I'm violating the normality of the game, this makes me discouraged from playing and having to make another save XD

Sort of like the snowball effect that happens when you learn a game has cheat codes and then it's hard not to use them but at the same time you feel like you're not playing legitimately if you do? I ended up having to restart my file after realizing putting the day length on "Realistic" was a bit of an overcorrection (it literally translates 1:1 with real life time so a day in game would take 24 real life hours and after playing for 15 hours I realized it would not be very fun because I didn't encounter a single enemy and had seemingly infinite time to build a base lol)
i recently been trying to build my base on this location but i cant place anything like water collector & bed & even torch underground can you tell me why is this happening i think the developers fixed something
@@lucek1977 hi i found a location like a cave you can build underground whit a glitch besides that do you think moving to oldest patch for building base underground and after it update the game can Cause the loses data?
@user-xl3fo3bv9q I'm not sure downgrading the version of the game is even possible, and pre 1.0 saves after 1.0 get really glitchy and crash a lot. Abt the cave I found one on the east side of the map, between the huge lake and residential bunker, if you enter it and stand on the entrance for a while you can build inside until you jump too high/come too far inside
Underground there is a ceiling limit so log placements don't work well, if you're on the roof the middle section of the lamp blueprint cabin is buildable. If you're at the Cave G cabin, those roofs are a bit more forgiving. For roof work with logs, I place them flat and spend a little time aligning before proceeding
It’s the item plater or some people call it the forge. You can put a weapon in it with Solafite and it increases the damage. It’s blueprint is found in Cave F
Unfortunately Endnight changed this when the full game released. Verified this myself. Funny thing is that if you built before the release your bed is still there with all fixtures and furniture. There is sort of a way to have an underground escape by building over one of the maintanence bunkers. For example, Maintenance C on the golf course. You can build a little base over the hatch and have access to the bunker.
Yeah, I think they took away the ability after the full game release. I just logged back into this server and all my furniture was still there but I couldn't add anything new. Kinda sucks
I tried as well. Does not work anymore. Made me sad. Also annoyed. Why remove it? You are just as safe on an island. So not broken or at least anymore broken. Assume they don’t like it either though. Enemies are getting more drown resistant now. /shrug
@@peculiargames3180 well i mean you are kind of less safe on an island once winter hits.. ig it really was too overpowered to just have an impenetrable saferoom with free respawning loot

Put spikes through the walls for better defense and also if you use logs for a defensive wall, cut the tops into spikes so they can't jump over them.

I was able to get achievements with collecting trackers despite having commands on

Can send some pretty tough enemies at you so make sure you have lots of explosives and ammo before you turn it on
