- Today I have a new Monster High G3 playset to take a look at, the Self-Scare Day Cleo DeNile!
This is a budget playset that comes with a new Cleo doll plus a vanity and chair, as well as some various fashion and makeup accessories!
The Cleo doll that comes in this playset is on the more basic side, but I have a soft spot for G3 Cleo and still adore her despite her simple design.
The vanity is also surprisingly nice! I don’t think it’s on par with the G1 style playsets but in terms on G3, it’s one of the nicer playset options I’d say.
I paid $40 for this doll playset at PaulMart but I know Entertainment Earth has her on preorder for her retail price of $30.
This isn’t a new release that you need to rush to pick up but I do think it’s a nice addition to your collection and stay tuned to see a closer look at the doll, vanity, and various accessories!

I’m glad the desk has storage!! The more storage, the better. I can see myself putting a lot of little accessories in there. I’m in love with this set, Cleo herself is a little basic but that’s what makes me like her. Overall I’d buy this set on sale or something but I always wait for sales haha
It was fun watching your adventure getting this Cleo. This is such a pretty play set! Cleo’s face up is so pretty!
i actually kinda like the skirt for how loud the pattern is 😆 granted it’s not super glam like monster ball, seems more like a casual comfy “hang out at home” outfit, which i guess fits the theme of having a self-(s)care day. i LOVE the doll’s makeup and i’m so glad the hair is saran! i feel very take it or leave it about the vanity itself, but i don’t have some of the other dolls the accessories are re-used from, so that part doesn’t turn me off. i may pick up the set when it’s on a good sale but as much as i like g3 cleo i’m looking to get the monster mysteries cleo set before this one, despite that doll having poly hair. 😩 thanks for showing off the set, these types of videos are super helpful for me in deciding which dolls/sets to add to my collection! i also enjoy how chill and positive you are are in these videos, even about the parts you don’t like. it’s nice to see honest takes on the drawbacks that aren’t just aggressively trashing the doll, you know?
The loud pattern is growing on me, it low key kind of reminds me of like lularoe tho haha.

I've been watching the vintage one on auction sites, and I like this one, but I'm leaning towards the vintage. ❤️
Anything Cleo is a win but they need to give her more unique shoes and accessories maybe even a new extra outfit or dress to make this set feel different and more worth it. But I can see people buying her if she were on sale for like $25-19.99 and given how we are approaching that time of year soon she’ll be an easy buy
This was super helpful because I really was gonna spend too much on this set. I'll wait until it's on sale on because the vanity itself is the only thing of value to me
I think if they'd added the gold sparkle tights from Monster Mysteries to this outfit, it would compliment the sparkle in the top. 🤔
Beautiful Cleo! Love the hair, make-up, and gold sandals. Not a fan of her outfit but I'll put together clothing pieces from previous Cleo dolls. Excellent video as always :D
I know the accessories are repeats but I know you like to paint some details so at least you have some great pieces to DIY.

I’d love to replace her as my og Cleo bc wow that Saran and middle part. Maybe even do some bangs too. The vanity isn’t too bad either. I’d pay less on a sale if I’m lucky but I’d buy full too if I had to desire too rn lol.

What were your thoughts on, deadfast Ghoulia collector doll for comic-con 2024 since were both fans of Ghoulia?. And i saw your blog video, just wanted to share this with you. If you ever do more re-roots, best of luck with that.

I just want to say that I am a new subscriber and I love your videos! - particularly your Monster High customs and reviews. I'm gearing myself up to perhaps do my first reroot (at least I am watching as many videos as possible for research - eeeek!)
I really love your painted accessory customs as well, and I just wondered if you ever use a primer or a fixing/sealant? I've heard Mr Super Clear is really good but would love to hear if you use anything?

As for painted accessories, I have never really primed any of them before staring to paint on them and I’ve had no problems so far.
I think the reason people use MSC on doll faces is because they are using water color pencils to get really sharp lines, and/or using pastels to blend so the grip that the msc provides is essential. For something like accessories tho where you’re usually just working with acrylic paint you can get away without priming it beforehand.
I have started to seal some accessories when they are fully painted with either a matte, satin, or gloss varnish and that is helpful.
I also have a bunch of painted doll accessories that I’ve never sealed and they have still held up well too, I just don’t actively play with them so they aren’t scuffing or chipping ya know.
Painting accessories is pretty forgiving and a super fun way to elevate your dolls, so good luck! 😁
