I know I can’t stop stop asking questions but it’s just so amazing how someone can do this :) so how much did this all cos if you don’t mind me asking.
Hi, It's been a while since I customized those aircrafts. So, I don't have a full account of the cost. But regarding quantities of material per plane, the spray cans were approximately, $11.00 per can; Primer spray paint was approximately, $7.00 per can. The amount of spray paint required depended on the color scheme of the plane. Such as, Hawaiian Airlines required 3-4 different colors vs Air Canada required only 1. With that said, I used a minimum of 2-3 cans of spray paint per each plane. Preparation: You need a low adhesive masking tape (lime green) from Lowe's or Home Depot to mask or separate your colors and to protect your glass windows (especially if they're already installed). If they're installed, it's pretty time consuming masking each window off because you have to use an X-acto blade to cut & clear around each window. But to get a clean job, you have to prepare the surface very well which takes the most time. For your decals, you can use a clear or white background, adhesive-backed, inkjet printer quality paper. I hope this helps and best wishes!
roddraym thanks for responding quick I really appreciate it I’m thinking about making one myself so this really helps thanks
@@roddraym would you consider making a custom Qatar plane for an aviation obsessed 3 year old with a great love of Qatar airplanes? Happy to pay x
@@sandrawaugh7894 Hi Sandra, How fascinating to learn about your son's passion for aviation and particularly, Qatar. I have a similar story which is why I created this channel. Please contact me for more info at ".....@gmail.com". BTW: Impressive display of still motion on the Mannequin Challenge.
They can do that with real airlines?
you welcome
Nice work! I have a question. How do you take out the windows without damaging them ?
Thank you! For the brand new Playmobil planes, I painted the plane first before inserting the windows. For the planes which were already assembled, I painstakingly taped over the windows, including the windshield. I customized these for my son who is now older and collects Gemini Jets 1:400 scale airplanes and airports. My latest projects are customized RC Airplanes such as the Airbus A380 (Qantas, Asiana Airlines and Polar DHL). I'll have videos of those planes soon!
Nice vid!! Do u paint the planes?
Jonathan Vegas Thank you! Yes, I customized them for my son. He now collects Gemini Jets 1:400 planes. Thank you again for inquiring.
Im gonna get another plane and customise it into DhL
Please can you do a tutorial on how to modify the planes??
Kieran Grant Hi, I wish I could spend more time doing this sort of thing. But traveling has consumed my daily schedule for now. I used Testers model spray paint with a clear coat afterwards. I had to mask-off each of the windows and tape off sections to allow for different color schemes. The most important part was spraying primer over the entire plane before starting any work. Then lightly wet sanding the surface to remove any overspray. It helps to perform this work in warm to hot weather and preferably no wind intrusion. However, ensure that the area is well ventilated! The decals took the longest time due to matching the fonts for the various logos. The planes are now a part of my son's growing collection of airplanes and airport layouts. Thank you for your interest and best wishes towards your projects!
How do you remove the factory paint?
Just spray primer the surface (after you have carefully taped off the windows and other equipment). Best!
gimme those planes
