You can scribble to erase though? Not sure why it isnt working for you. Just draw a line through the text cutting it, it will erase. Works that way on my sister's s22 ultra.
On my samsung tab s7 fe, i just tap on the button of my spen for it to work as an automatic eraser. Idk if it helps but, I just wanna share because that's my fave samsung notes feature lol :>

Particularly, as an artist and a student, the pen that comes with it has palm rejection and a bunch of cool features. Pag bibili ka online, it costs about 23,000 tapos yung Xiaomi is 16,000! Xiaomi doesn’t come with the pen. (And as per the opinions of my classmates, hindi rin gaano kagandahan yung Xiaomi pen.) If you buy the pen separately, the Xiaomi Pad6 will cost roughly the same amount as the S9. If you’re using it for taking down notes and such, palm rejection is a must for a more comfortable writing experience and the S-pen is really built for that. I’d go with the S9 for longevity and the UI.

this tablet fs. androids (imo) are way more convenient and you can use this in many ways. + it comes with the s pen so if you bought an iPad, you would have to buy an apple pencil itself

Yes, you can scribble to erase typed text, but handwritten text or drawing it will not work. Is it the same for you in handwritten text?
