@Weak3n Glad to see you stayed loyal to the game (a game that you love, not just a job) and how much you've matured over the years as a content creator and a person! Your numbers were low for a time but you didn't abandon the "dream"! I used to play Smite 1 with my ex-wife but now i'm gonna expand the player base by 2 (my sons) and pass down my 8000+ hours of experience! :P I hope everyone has a great year (gamewise and not) and i guess.... See you on the battlefield of the gods!
I'm happy they turned things around and I'm hopeful for the future of the game, I put 2500+ hours in the first and I started playing only in season 8. This time I started in the closed alpha and have seen just how the devs can do in a couple of months, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they cook up next.
Letting the masses play your game early enough to shape the final product based on feedback is a great move imo. It turned out pretty good when larian did it for bg3
This is personal what i needed cause i dropped the game myself for the past few months to play other stuff finally cause it was in such a bad state i still had hope for it but it was just unplayable and coming of all the time I out into smite 1 just felt for me not to give up on the game completely I’d just try other stuff out. But I trust your opinions over all the years you e covered smite so I’ll definitely be on the game today again to try all the changes out myself keep up the good work my guy
I haven’t played yet im waiting for free to play, but the aspects is an amazing idea. I love customizability and versatile characters. I feel like diving even deeper than that and having an almost roguelike leveling system for abilites too where you have multiple upgrade paths would be sick and make smite really stand out from other games imo
Is Smite 2 perfect? No, god no. But it feels so much better to play than smite 1. Everything is so smooth and clean. Active items could use some work, and it feels really bad having to wait 2+ minutes for some of them, but the effects are really cool, just like, maybe 90s cds max and tone the effect from there
I am excited for the changes. I bought the game in the Alpha on console - but stopped playing at the time it took a dip in popularity and the whacky bad changes, but I am hopeful for the future and free play version. I have a deep love for Smite and want and hope it succeeds.
The game seems fun to watch so far. Playing is a different story. Idk what it is but everything feels like they have less impact. I'm not talking about damage numbers either. It's like going from Pos Trident to using a Wet Noodle. It could also just simply be the engine and how everything is much more smooth there isn't a lot of jaggedness to combat that allows abilities and autos to feel a bit more impactful. Idk. I mainly need them to fix button mapping on Pc using a controller. Doesn't save any changes and it doesn't disable UI inputs when trying to change the buttons. I may have to just change everything in steam I guess.
I had fun playing Smite 1 when it came out on the console. I can't wait to play Smite 2 on PS5 Time to watch Weak3n & some other creators to brush up on my knowledge on Smite 2
I havent played smite in 2 years, stayed subbed to you whole time haha cool to see this in my feed. i've been checking every few weeks if smite 2 is out yet but havent done any research. i had no idea it went through trash alpha stages haha i just figured its a relaunch with better graphics and it being smite 2 bring in more players. I'm excited to play i put in like 4k+ hours into smite 1 this should be really good for the playerbase.
also, wanted to add i've only known smite as a free game im glad they'll be keeping it that way. i dunno if i would've payed to play it hehe. if the game is good i spent over 1,000 bucks on skins in the first one.
Thank you for this video weak3n. I’ve had access to smite2 but it just didn’t click at the beginning. Glad to hear it’s for the good that things have changed and I’m reinstalling it now.
i dont think paragon and them died because of verticality just playing thier game in general felt mind numbingly boring to me. from the objectives to everything else. i have adhd and i couldnt play game for more than 5 min and my brain would slip away and turn off.
I wouldn’t even call it boring because I felt the same way, but it more felt like the pacing of matches went from 0 to 100 back to 0 again and there was no inbetween because the fighting was fun but everything else felt like a buildup to the next fight.
@@ImCallMeLeo personal experience just differs then. even fighting other people wasn't fun. some could range you from other side of lane. and other times even if you brawled everything felt not wieghty at all.
I'm a long term smite player and have spent thousands of dollars in Smite over the years. When Paragon, Overprime & Predecessor came I much preferred them to Smite. I like them all and now focus on Smite 2 & Predecessor. I really just wished Hi Rez made better use of UE5. I do understand it's a different art style than Predecessor, I just prefer the look of Predecessor. At the same time I appreciate the fact that the two games look and play different.
As a filthy casual, S2 is improving at a very fast rate. I was playing one match of 2 and going back to 1. It’s very playable now. I played for 6-8 hours recently. I like the way it’s trending
fucking fire breakdown, exactly my thoughts. When Smite 2 was announced i was hopeful but worried seeing how hi rez had handled newer games. After seeing the steady changes according to what the player base says the games need restored my faith and i know that the only thing the game needs now is time to get the split player base to recombine
I stopped playing smite when I got a pc because I couldn't transfer my account, kinda moot point now. So I am willing to start over with smite 2, I haven't found a multiplayer competitive game I have enjoyed or put as much time in.
I loved baccus in smite 1 but you would always build the same but now you have so much flexibility with the new int and strength and now even with the new aspects he's a the same but with alot more added. I don't know who would want to play the old baccus in smite one when the smite 2 baccus so good
I'd completely lost interest in the first game but I bought the alpha and I'm crazy invested. I've srsly been having a great time with it and it's really brought me back on board so I have every hope for it rn.
What i would like to see while leveling the gods. Put The gold god skin at level 1 on the free track and bring back the Level 10 Diamond skin on the free track. They already have the level 5 legendary skin on free so that would be a great addition that would make sense. That away if you don't buy into the Premium Ascension you still get a Diamond skin at 10.
My friends and I stopped playing due to the matchmaking issues and ability bugs early on. I cant wait to play a more polished version. I"m excited for the f2p patch
Honestly this makes me want to pick up the founders pack. I strayed away at first cause of all the bad things I’ve heard but now it’s really looking like it’s on the up and up, it just needs a bigger player base which I hope it gets!
have they done improvements on the performance? i bought smite 2 like a few months back, maybe like half a year ago, when it goes f2p should i get it again to check if the performance is better?
I ran the game at 140fps on the last patch, on the new patch i can run it at 160-170fps (medium settings). Other people with lower end rigs than me have reported higher increases, but it is system dependent. Id recommend trying it again, devs are constantly working on improving the performance. FYI there have been tons of performance improvements the last 6 months.
thank you! I’ll try the game again and see how I feel about it this time around, I have 4K hours on smite 1 but I dropped it some time back, I think I could give it another try
I hope it goes well for smite2. I hate the fact is going live now, im having too much fun with marvel rivals to let it go and jump back on smite, but I hope it goes well so I can join back later on when im done with marvel rivals.
Prob the 1st time I watched a video from beginning to end. Great content in this one. I like your stuff, I just usually skip through. Very good argument and explanation! I certainly agree about gameplay. Gotta be one of the best games out there feature, content, fluidity, build potential etc. Player base sucks but the game itself is setting the bar. It is outstanding! Played you once btw before I knew who you were, and your fans came after me for talking smack to you on stream😅!
It’s the console players man, we don’t have a good moba. Mythology is a pull for most people, 3rd person view is easy to grow accustomed to, and the game is constantly improving and being added to. New console player’s specifically will most likely get hooked on this game. Especially with the free price tag? With how ridiculously priced games are today? The game will be fine.
@ImCallMeLeo I agree with the moba genre for console but I just can't see players putting in the time for it to be Smite 2. Too many other games dividing player count and retention it only gets worse I think as we get later in the year.
Smite 2 is here to stay I promise yall once free to play it gonna be here for a while the game feels so good im not gonna lie anybody can disagree it you’re opinion im just stating mine free to play is going to make MM just right!
I need to get back to jump on Smite 2. I am still trying to do my best to finish the Divine Legacy for Smite 1. I know it's going to be a challenge for Solo que. Like the video. Thanks Weaken.
I was as the end of my smite arc when smite 2 was announced so I instantly preordered it and haven't played since the first weekend of smite 2 so I am exited to rope my friends into it when its f2p!
This is why you’ll always be one of my favorite smite content creators or content creator in general! Smite 2 has come so so far and I can’t wait for all its success!
My biggest complaint with smite 1 Is having tanks basically 1 shotting squishies at almost any point in the game. Having a god that's nearly unkillable with a dash and a heal also hitting me for 600+ on some abilities is BS. Has this changed in Smite 2?
not to sound weird, but as a squishy if a tank gets in your face without being punished or peeled off, you should die :P the problem arises when the tank their stats don't diminish well overtime, so even if the carry/damage dealer comes back in xp and gold it doesn't matter because the tank is just so far ahead. usually tanks then also have to invest items/gold into damage meaning they fall off even harder the longer the game takes. its kinda gimmicky but can be pretty effective if your opponent just keeps fighting you. might sound lame but just try not to interact with the tank building damage until later when you also scale up :P
Love the game but I'm worried the player base will not regain its momentum and I don't know if they have the marketing budget to market this game but I pray that people come back thanks weak
i love the fact i finally hear someone admit the alpha for smite 1 was bad because holy shit not having a jg and having a bruiser with a idk i useally saw yimir in duo lane because solo lane wasnt a thing besides mid great video as always though i always like hearing your thoughts because you feel real if that makes sense
It's fairly obvious that HiRez are paying youtoubers to give positive reviews. Fineo yesterday IIRC, and you today - exclaiming "It's better now, play!"
The literal only thing keeping me away is not having joust. I like conquest but playing 2 games im burnt. I like my 15-20 min games. Im assuming with free to play and joust coming the pkayer base will explode.
I didn’t like Hercules in smite 1 but in smite 2 he feels awesome he hits hard and grows huge. Can’t wait to see what skins exclusively made for UE5 looks like in the future 🔥🔥🔥
i would be lying if I said i still played smite, but I always love hearing their success since that game was all i played in middle school. maybe i should play smite 2 when i get the chance lol
Are Aspects basically just the Talents from Paladins? Like one of Androxus's Talents was that his reflect fist ability automatically does damage even if you don't have any damage to reflect. That kind of vibe?
After I deleted reddit, I just see and hear good stuff about smite 2. Been playing since the first alpha and it's so much better now. It's a lot of fun
As a console player i just want old shop back i haven't played because I haven't seen if the shop changed but that's what's been keeping me and I'm sure many others away
I was able to play smite 2 a few months after it was announced. I played a few times but didn’t really like how they changed some gods abilities and how they work. For example: Neith no longer has her bomb cc on her flip and 1. I feel like smite is trying to be more like lol with all the game mechanic changes. I can’t say I think smite 1 is better because I haven’t played smite 2 since the latest update so I will give it another try.
I almost never comment, but i'm getting hyped for smite 2. Love seeing it go in the right direction. Just hope they will work on the visuals, because it looks unappeling to me. But look at visuals s1 compared s10 from smite 1. I imagine they will make large visual overhauls in the future.
I agree. During the first open alphas, I hated the game. It felt so clunky and unoptimized. However, I tried it again a few weeks ago and absolutely love it now. And just a few days ago, I played some matches of Smite 1 with a friend, and it felt so much worse compared to how Smite 2 feels and plays rn.
My main concern is whether they will actually implement a form of matchmaking onto the live servers. You would think they were experimenting with it since the beginning but come to find out there was none for like 2 months into the 24/7 closed alpha. The matchmaking is bad on smite 1 but at least people know how the game is played so i don't worry about it and just enjoy the game for what it is and have fun. win or lose im having fun even if there's 2 really bad people on my team. What i don't want is to play a bunch of games and have a bunch of people in my lobbies that have never played a MOBA. If there's that many people then they should be playing each other and not someone like me that has a bunch of hours in the game and feels bad so id let them run away because I don't want to bully the 0-8 neith
I hate to say it but predecessor is ģrowing where smite feels like it's going backwards. I was a season 3-10 for smite. Now I'm in love with predecessor
Main issue is that smite 2 Runs at like 30 fps tick wise so it looks off it doesnt have the smoothness it once had and it feels clunky But once you get used to it feels better the question to me is are most people going to actually spend 8+ hours getting used to the game feeling. This is an issue with most Unreal Engine 5 games including The beloved Marvel Rival
I was honestly dumbfounded to hear about Smite 2 going FTP early. I thought it would be the full year, but no. Im not too surprised. I never would've bought smite two, and i completely forgot about it after, AS I was under the impression, they effectively killed smite 1. Now i actually get to play and try it again, and deadlock wont be my only Moba now.
At first Smite 2 kinda stunk in my eyes, back during the first few alpha tests. But now? Ridiculously good! It's insane how much the game improved in just a few months, and I'm super hyped to hop on more often as soon as the January patch drops. Now I'm just hoping they add some of my favorite gods soon (Pls lord add Charon🙏🙏)
My only problem with smite 2 is the FPS. Smite 1 I had the smite optimizer to get my FPS to 250 constant and now on smite 2. It’s just not as smooth feeling FPS wise on the same PC
just watch loki's legs glitch when you do circles and jump. also they screw up my controllers trigger casting...not sure how they fucked up the casting of abilities but i have a hard time to cast like i did with controller on smite 1. i dont play with instant cast but i never had a problem in smite 1. still cant figure out what they did but it feels terrible
The BIGGEST PROBLEM is the player base left. I still remember the last game I played over a year ago in smite 1. I played for most of the day and just qued with absolute stinkers on both sides. I was winning games but it wasn’t competitive at all cause everyone was on smite 2. I went to smite 2 and couldn’t find a game for 10 min. Maybe things have changed but if this is a flop Ggs.
It being free is why I played it on console and why I bought smite 2 for my pc I put 5000 hours into the first one

I hope everyone has a great year (gamewise and not) and i guess.... See you on the battlefield of the gods!
Going for that 100 game tester badge. The lack of MM is rough but otherwise the games just straight up better imo.
Him and Incon need to bury the hatchet... JEEZ
As a casual player I’m looking forward to getting some Smite 2 games in this year.
I had fun playing Smite 1 when it came out on the console. I can't wait to play Smite 2 on PS5
Time to watch Weak3n & some other creators to brush up on my knowledge on Smite 2
I have 2300+ hours of Smite, and I'm a lifelong Bronzie. I am amped for S2 as it keeps rolling.
Thank you for this video weak3n. I’ve had access to smite2 but it just didn’t click at the beginning. Glad to hear it’s for the good that things have changed and I’m reinstalling it now.
What does he mean by boar immunity for the nu was? Want to try out the build since it sounds fun to have an auto attacking nuwa
The active item Circe's Hexstone
i dont think paragon and them died because of verticality just playing thier game in general felt mind numbingly boring to me. from the objectives to everything else. i have adhd and i couldnt play game for more than 5 min and my brain would slip away and turn off.
@ that I understand I was eluding to big teamfights
But 1 on 1 it felt like a stomp one way or the other and there was no inbetween.
You guys think paragon was bad?! Like, the ORIGINAL paragon?
1 Smite 1 is not dead.
2 Smite is still in Alpha. Not much of a comparison.
3. It's too early to make the jump.
Smite 2 is literally gonna be an open beta
With games like Marvel Rivals around free to play, Hi rez needs to up their game if they want a player base.
A lot of games in 2025 tough year to get players from that alone. Maybe at some point players will come around to it.
Nice pfp
Smite 2 is here to stay I promise yall once free to play it gonna be here for a while the game feels so good im not gonna lie anybody can disagree it you’re opinion im just stating mine free to play is going to make MM just right!
Willing to bet there’s a bunch of people, like myself, who are just waiting for free to play.
I need to get back to jump on Smite 2. I am still trying to do my best to finish the Divine Legacy for Smite 1. I know it's going to be a challenge for Solo que. Like the video. Thanks Weaken.
I was as the end of my smite arc when smite 2 was announced so I instantly preordered it and haven't played since the first weekend of smite 2 so I am exited to rope my friends into it when its f2p!
i just want awilix dawg but that khepri aspect seems nice af
i can't get over that shadow-mourne just chillen there haha
All we can do is go out and play the game, tell your friends to try it, buy the god pack. Thanks for making this video
This is why you’ll always be one of my favorite smite content creators or content creator in general! Smite 2 has come so so far and I can’t wait for all its success!
Did you move or redo your setup?
Me and the wife want to upgrade our ps4 and Xbox for two ps5s for this alone
My biggest complaint with smite 1 Is having tanks basically 1 shotting squishies at almost any point in the game. Having a god that's nearly unkillable with a dash and a heal also hitting me for 600+ on some abilities is BS. Has this changed in Smite 2?
This was a huge issue in Smite 1 for me and they’ve definitely made tanks more balanced in Smite 2.
Tbh it's the same or even worse with league so idk if it's just a moba problem in general
not to sound weird, but as a squishy if a tank gets in your face without being punished or peeled off, you should die :P
the problem arises when the tank their stats don't diminish well overtime, so even if the carry/damage dealer comes back in xp and gold it doesn't matter because the tank is just so far ahead.
usually tanks then also have to invest items/gold into damage meaning they fall off even harder the longer the game takes.
its kinda gimmicky but can be pretty effective if your opponent just keeps fighting you.
might sound lame but just try not to interact with the tank building damage until later when you also scale up :P
My only real complaint is the item shop can be a bit hard to navigate. Other than that, it's a great game
Love the game but I'm worried the player base will not regain its momentum and I don't know if they have the marketing budget to market this game but I pray that people come back thanks weak
I agree with your comment unfortunately I don’t think the play. Base will be high enough for the game to see enough success
i love the fact i finally hear someone admit the alpha for smite 1 was bad because holy shit not having a jg and having a bruiser with a idk i useally saw yimir in duo lane because solo lane wasnt a thing besides mid great video as always though i always like hearing your thoughts because you feel real if that makes sense
W take weak3n i agree i havent been playing but i have been keeping up with it the progress so far has been great.
Do u think 3-man queues are gonna be a thing for ranked cq? That's the reason all my friends dropped that game as we couldnt play together
It's fairly obvious that HiRez are paying youtoubers to give positive reviews. Fineo yesterday IIRC, and you today - exclaiming "It's better now, play!"
I personally love what they are doing and I may hate the un fair matchmaking but imma enjoy making weird builds Like I already do on smite 1.
I'll play it, soon or later. I had played Smite 1 for 9 years after all. There's no escape
i would be lying if I said i still played smite, but I always love hearing their success since that game was all i played in middle school. maybe i should play smite 2 when i get the chance lol
Is there a SEA server in smite 2?
Devs have been on fire lately. Smite 2 has a bright future.
Are Aspects basically just the Talents from Paladins? Like one of Androxus's Talents was that his reflect fist ability automatically does damage even if you don't have any damage to reflect. That kind of vibe?
It's exactly that, yeah. I'd argue they're generally a lot more impactful in Smite though.
After I deleted reddit, I just see and hear good stuff about smite 2. Been playing since the first alpha and it's so much better now. It's a lot of fun
Major glazing
The marketing money is starting to rill through and the shills gotta shill.
As a console player i just want old shop back i haven't played because I haven't seen if the shop changed but that's what's been keeping me and I'm sure many others away
I read in the comments you can change it imma check tomorrow
I play on xbox and yeah you can :D
Haven't heard of the aspects I don't think I'm going to come back once smite dies I'll be moving on
Is the matchmaking fixed? Thats why I couldn't get into it
I think free to play fixes it. Need more players for it to br implemented
Ahh the end of the rainbow is beautiful
I was honestly dumbfounded to hear about Smite 2 going FTP early.
I thought it would be the full year, but no. Im not too surprised.
I never would've bought smite two, and i completely forgot about it after, AS I was under the impression, they effectively killed smite 1.
Now i actually get to play and try it again, and deadlock wont be my only Moba now.
Early? They said last January it would be in beta and free to play this month. Why make stuff up? That's weird.
At first Smite 2 kinda stunk in my eyes, back during the first few alpha tests. But now? Ridiculously good! It's insane how much the game improved in just a few months, and I'm super hyped to hop on more often as soon as the January patch drops. Now I'm just hoping they add some of my favorite gods soon (Pls lord add Charon🙏🙏)
ue 5 engine and rtx really fucks a lot of systems, but with in 2 years from now it'll be as smooth as valorant is on ue4
Seriously tho, smite 2 has soooo much potential. super hyped for the future of smite 2!
The game is insanely good atm. People dont realise how good its gonna be in 2 years.
I played Smite cos it was F2P. I did buy the god pack eventually once I saw it was worth my money.
The God Pack truely was one of the greatest packages in gaming
