I like several things about the video. 1. This is a great hymn by Fanny Crosby; the Christian church in the US has probably never had another praise-writer more prolific than Fanny. And, her life's story was quite inspiring. Finally, little doubt that this hymn was written with no other goal than to glorify God. 2. The people are indeed "rejoicing", as the lyrics urge. Because of the age of this text and tune, it's likely that no matter where these ppl were from, they were familiar w/it.
Yeah! Jerry Watts on bass! He can hold down a solid groove for worship music, or play explosive, inspired solos for jazz/fusion, and talk about tone! Such a versatile musician! Tommy is cool too… :-)
science never cured sin never gave everlasting life it doesnt love or forgive it has limits. it wont be here forever it will never defeat evil or create a perfect kingdom on earth. it will never bring all people together in peace. science will fail but my God will never fail when he moves and he has done and will do all of these things and more so glory to God that bodly death is nothing and sin is no more.
The thief came to kill, still, and destroy But JESUS came to give you life and more abundant life! John 10:10 You get to choose: life or death! God tells us to choose life!
I can see the feeble creatures of heaven. Innocent and weak in their white garments. Sitting high above as faceless slaves. Their empty eyes, too blind to see. Terrorized and controlled with strings. Don't hide from me, open to your darker side. The die is cast, there is no turning back. Strike them down with hellish power. Warriors of the pit shall prevail. Their lives will end in despair and flames. No cross to protect their rotting souls. Prayers to ashes, angels to dust.
3. The band plays "skillfully" unto the LORD, and Tommy's leadership is also skillful. Possible negatives: wasn't taped before Tommy's church (I might like to see it more if it were). Looks like it would've been a great place to be, but I'm not entirely sure that the gathering was meant solely as a worship service, 'tho I don't doubt that many of the people there had nothing else in mind to do at this time than worship. Still, viewer, don't think this is "church", necessarily. Maybe or not.
Looks like Bob Wilson on drums !!! Wowza !!! Lord bless you all
...and yet he continues to change lives for his glory. Hard to believe if Christ is really dead. Praise the Lord for he is always good!
What a wonderful version of this hymn.
Tommy Walker is truly a great composer!
I think he's just THAT happy! And SAVED!
The stage lights look like they were really bright.
Love this!
Epic! To have been written by a woman that was blind from birth speaks to the power of Jesus
