    You know, I'm from a area that doesn't have to many vegetable farms out here, I would be amazed to be able to spend a lil time working a farm and seeing how things are done on a Farm! Maybe that's something you all can start, I for one would spend money to travel to a farm where I can see and do what ordinary Americans do for a living! I'm from Las Cruces, NM! Every state has different agriculture that other states don't have, your family has and seems like it would be a great place to visit and learn! Perhaps a maybe in the near future! 😀

    Hey Andrew, so happy to see your channel taking off. I have a question though. With all the waste and scrap that comes from growing veggies, why not pigs for pork?

    • @theveggieboys
      @theveggieboys  4 роки тому +7

      We used to raise pigs, however the amount of flies they bring around is not good for hygiene. We are considering raising pigs again. We just need a better area to raise them, maybe not so close to the farm market.

    Great Tips! I grew cantaloupes one year in my mini garden and pampered them all summer. I didn't take the time to research how to know when to pick them. My husband wanted to go pick one/eat and I would not let him. Well, we ended up with NONE. The animals decided they were ripe and ate them.

      Thank you for watching! Sweet corn is known for growing 2 and on rare occasions is able to have a 3rd ear produce before the plant is too old. Sweet corn is very short season.

    • @1982MCI

      Mary Mary's Market it is to cross pollinate it and make new seed corn varieties.
      The rows of corn that the remove the tassels from will catch the pollen from the rows of corn next to it that still has tassels but is a different variety of corn. That pollen then pollinates the corn ears with no tassels and gives the seed company a different breed of corn than what either the mother or father plant were. The corn with no tassels will be cut separate from the corn with tassels so they can track it and follow it to see if the need to do it again or did it do what they wanted it to do.
      It’s just how we come up with all of our different types of corn is all

So very many people have taken to canning this year that most canning supplies are in very short supply around the country!

    The yellow spot on a watermelon is because it sat on the field. Has nothing to do with ripeness as you said. Knock on it. If hollow, then good. Also look for the "tail". If too yellow it either means that it is too ripe or it was picked a long time ago
