Makita doesn’t throw from a low slot, he uses similar techniques as Watanabe where their legs go so low that their arm slot itself is almost just a sidearm, you can see his fastball breaking like a sidearm fastball does. Tyler rogers and park jong hun have lower arm slots as they don’t lunge foward as much
I agree...also, I feel that an underhand delivery (i.e., throwing altogether) is more natural... I was a pitcher (Little League, Babe Ruth) and threw roughly 3/4...it was not uncomfortable...I think that I entertained over-top at one point - but I feel that it requires extra effort... Many years ago, I was having an underhand style whip catch with a friend, and it was very comfortable...
There have been numerous submarine type of pitchers done through a years. In the 60s & 70s we had Ted Abernathy, Cecil Upshaw, then came Kent Tekulve and Dan Quisenberry. Most recently Steve Cishek
How I was thinking I wanted to watch some pitchers that were sidearmed and then this pops up on UA-cam shorts just bye me thinking I think they are connected to my brain
This pitcher reminds me of Kent Tekulve of the Pittsburgh Pirates (74-85) who was one heck of a submarine pitcher. He had a style of pitching many right handed hitters had a lot of difficulty with just being able to hit the ball.
I threw sidearm all thru school but averaged 70s. I wasnt fast whatsoever but i did ok. Id get hit, but alot of the time it wasnt good contact ended up a foul or grounded. I will aslo say that my shoulder is absolute toast from pitching that way. I might have hit 80 on occasion but not often if i even did. Its hard to generate alot of speed. It was more about the release and that the ball is elevating rather then falling. Its weird seeing it first few times. The look on the batters face immediately says what the hell?
This is a clip from our full length vid about sidearmers you can watch here: ua-cam.com/video/xUlfaKeLQik/v-deo.html
Put him in red sox uniform 😊

Mutsuhiro Watanabe? The evil japanese soldier who committed horrible war crimes in WW2
@@jacobd9120 Wtaf
@@jacobd9120 Tf is you saying lol, it's Shunsuke Watanabe, another great Japanese under arm
I’m 500th like 👍
Imagine him coming in at 28 instead of 38
He pitched in MLB at 33. He was 38 when this video came out. Video got that confused.
I think he'd still pitch slow af tbh might break like 92
Gotta love the way that pitch style looks it’s a thing of beauty

Bro sidearm pitchers are so fun to watch the smoothness of they're delivery especially mikita
In grade school we called this "Underhand".
I’ve seen at least a half dozen good submarine style pitchers in the past 50 yrs, but I’ve never seen one that was left handed
1000 like right here
A true lefty submarine guy like Rogers would probably be the best bullpen piece in the league
hopefully ill be that man
Javier Lopez from the Giants was my man
@@thomhartmann9302as in the braves catcher? Or am I confusing him with someone else
The only man LaSteroids DaddyHack IV fears.
I bet he’s great at skipping stones.

Some good clean clever humor there. You are a ray of light in a dark youtube commentary world. 🫡
Me pitching in baseball 9:
remember i have a 0.00 ERA in the MLB

That first pitch, if thrown by a normal overhander would have been the easiest hanger.. even the pitcher could have gone yard on that
Fun fact: in Japan he won an award for fastest working pitcher (in terms of pace-of-play). Took like 8 or 9 seconds in between each pitch
That time is measured from when he receives the ball from the catcher until the ball is released from his hand??
The real life Toa Tokuchi
Man of culture. One outs
I was thinking that when he said the speed of the pitches, lol glad someone mentioned One Outs
Is there any baseball player actually that cunning though as Tokuchi i wanna know
He makes the ball look like it hits the ground and bounce
How I was thinking I wanted to watch some pitchers that were sidearmed and then this pops up on UA-cam shorts just bye me thinking I think they are connected to my brain
That first pitch was filthy
My fastball is like a 65 on a good day 😂😂.

He Must have been a successful bottle cap thrower before lol
Woah 😳 that is a nice slider😍 I love that very low break♥️
50s is crazy
Thats the weirdest pitching mothion ever but if it works it works i mean it got him to the mlb
Byung hyun kim had a big impact too
Dang hed fit in great with the Red Sox this year
@WhiteSox sign this guy
He made his debut at 33
Billy Beane on alert
In the past you had Terry Leach. He had the same style.
I think he is on MLB the show 22 and I cannot hit anything off of him. It’s so hard to time him 😂
Literally how lasteriod pitches

He played in the World Series in 2009 Yankees and Phillies not just in 2019
Pshh. He is just a novelty. Once any good batters see him a few times they would light him up.
Tyler Rogers, SF Giants
Dang..😮 He throws lower than Ho Lee Chit fr..😜😂😮👊
Byung-hung Kim was lower I believe
He was legendary
I can through like this to it’s funny kids on my team say it break the laws of physics because it a rising fastball
he just like me fr
Thats a submarine pitch
Ted Abernathy of the Cubs
No offense bc he’s good but my pitcher is 12 yrs old and pitches at an average of 60-70 mi and her fast ball pushes 85
85? Are you sure?
W player one of my favorite 🔥😎🤙🌊🏄♂️🔥
Tayler Rogers is real. he is the lowest throwing pitcher
I could never hit guys like this. Amazing they get lit up and there isn’t very many in the game anymore.
