His voice sounds semi healed from the GM sessions here. Honestly, I like the raspiness as well. At the same time though, the way he sounds in his low register with his healed voice to me is the best.
This is so cool. You guys were on fire at this gig! Your drumming is untouchable. You inspire me to be a better a drummer. Maybe we can get that Love Love Kiss Kiss music video you mentioned?
thanks for everything Derek... you were/still are a huge influence on my drumming. my brother and i went to an Alk show in 2018 when Jarrod filled in for you and then we just caught a show in March with Atom. nothing against those guys, but it just ain't the same. you fucking killed it on Blood, Hair and Eyeballs and if it's your last album with the boys - hope it isn't - you went out on a super high note. ps. can't stop listening to your drums on Broken Down in a Time Machine. so sick.
Hi Derek! Thank you so much for this! I love Good Mourning album, that’s my summer jam along with So Long Astoria by Ataris! Much love from Poland! 🫡🤘👌
Saw you for the first time around then in the UK. I think it was 2003 as I was off to uni the next year. Saw you in Sheffield. It was amazing. Seen you 5 or 6 times since then. Seeing Foo Fighters and Alkaline Trio this summer... Guess which I'm most excited for?
@itschavez115 I checked and it's not in my archive but it might be on an old hard drive in my storage space. I'll see if I can get a copy from Vagrant or AOL.
I saw you guys the same weekend at leeds fest with the same set. first tiem seeing you guys. it must have been 15 times since then! i remember having a chat with you at a blood pact meet before a show in manchester in ... what 06 or so about whether there would be any surprises on the setlist and i was sad that you guys had played this is getting over you at leeds but i didn't know the song then. you replied hey at least you saw the song! and that moment really stuck with me haha. later on you guys played lucretia my reflection and i lost my mind. i like to think i had something to do with it. great memories.
I remember there was a live (full band) electric version of blue in the face. I believe it was from a soundcheck does anyone know where I can find that? It was pre-Damnesia.
@JohnLaszkow With few exceptions, we've always done a full band rendition live so it shouldn't be hard to find a recording (here's the drum cam from the Past Live tour: ua-cam.com/video/3looDlVVxCY/v-deo.html). The original version of the song was electric, there are a few demos of it that will hopefully be released at some point.
Dude, I’d give almost anything to go back in time to this era.
Miss you Derek, hope you’re doing good. It’s not the same without you.
@Jayboot You and me both!
Matts voice in this era is so good, i know he did not like it but damn it is so cool

Thank you Derek for this video!
Can't wait to see/hear what you've got from the Crimson era, Derek. Much respect to the puffy shirt.
Awesome! Really cool how the whole crowd shouted "Organ Donor" in All on Black, looked like a really good crowd

I wasn’t cool enough to see the band live in 2003, but I’ve gone many times starting in 2013. It’s wild to see how some of these songs evolved live
The harmony you do at 12:27 is really good 😎

Hi Derek! About the footage of AOL Sessions 2003, do you have that full footage that includes Emma We Had Enough and If We Never Go Inside?

Thank you Derek!! I love the drums on the full band version
That was awesome to watch from the drum cam
Free Palestine 🇵🇸 Thank you, Derek

I was there. Possibly the hottest place on earth in that tent.
