Great stuff! Thanks to Stan and Roger for donating and sharing their experience. I had no idea it was that easy to split the old farmalls. I'll be catching up on all the old video's while sitting at dialysis at 6 in the morning.
Hey Joey. I liked that. Make sure yall video the whole repair so we can learn from it. Roger seems like he knows what to do. Its nice to have an older brain to learn from. Good video, Thanks, Phil.
Y'all are getting on along with it. Roger makes it look easy. That impact speeds up the process. Yeah the clutch disc is pretty worn looking. I know you don't want to but make sure the rear main seal isn't leaking because now is the time to put it in. Thanks for sharing the video Joey. Wish I lived closer I'd like to help y'all.
I would go ahead and change that rear seal. Not that big of a deal and I'll bet you'll be happy in the end. Since you're installing a new clutch, you don't want oil in there. Good luck.
Hey Mike Your right . I was letting dollar signs cloud my thinking. lol I bought a clutch kit and the rear and front seal kits along with o rings and a gasket for the hydraulic line.
Hey Joey. Good to see y'all doing that video. I got some experience doing all that stuff on my Super A restoration. I did extensive research. Mostly on UA-cam. However it took some discretion because some videos include methods that are not the most practical. Pete From just a few acres farm has a good video on details of doing the crankshaft seal. Its on a Super C but the exact same as what's on the Super A. Another good resource for me was my Super A parts manual, shop manual and operators manual. My one suggestion is to replace that crankshaft pulley if the shoulder where the seal rides shows any wear. Steiner has them for about $80. Mine had some wear and I thought it would be ok. I feel certain that it is the source of mine having a slight leak after installing new seal, in spite of being totally diligent in following the correct install procedure. Also the original seal appears to be of a much higher quality than the ones available today. Hope it goes well. Ill be watching.
Hello Jtwes crew. I’ve been waiting for awhile for this very video. I appreciate Rogers skills and your patience, plus Sammy doing the filming. As far as the mouse/rat nest you can bring it to FL for a visit. I’m confident that I have enough of them in MI. 🤣. Roger has a well equipped shop and a wealth of knowledge. Like others have comments, wish I were there to “get in the way”! A coffee pot and a stool to set on and I would be in “hog heaven”. I’m looking forward to more videos on this tractor as well as Roger “thumping on” his Super A and 130. It gives me something to look forward to. God Bless my NC friends. 🙏
It is a pain when i did my super a i used a puller and a bearing splitter to pull it off you dont want pull on pulley with puller jaws it will break before it comes off . That is why used a bearing splitter i could get it behind the pulley and pull all the way around it and not a cuople places . I have done 4 more of same motor when i rebuild them i leave it together pull the chrank out press the pulley off in a small hydraulic press it is a whole lot easier just got to be creative with the blocking to get around the front cover.
Good to see the Super A getting some attention. What I've done on the front pulley is use a bearing splitter on the back side of the pulley and use a slotted T style puller bolted to the force holes in the bearing splitter. Hopefully it's not stuck to tight. But definitely never use a jaw puller. Can't wait to see it done.
Well done video , showed most of the steps that you guys guys took. Looks like you still have your work cut out. Hope the remainder of the dismantling goes as well. Do want to see that can of bolts when you are all done, see if theere are any leftovers. Had to laugh out loud when you started down the road, looked like spring time. It was late afternoon here, I glanced at the thermometer. It showed minus 2 degrees, which was the high for the day. Better than folks north of here, their high was minus 21. Blessings and have a good upcoming week. Do you get the holiday on Monday of?
Hi Joey , that was some old school mechanical ingenuity. It good to see two friends working together. Y’all made good progress on that day. Looking forward to seeing the finished results. Thanks for sharing. 😎😎 👍
Great video. These project videos are great.
I hope to do better video work on the next few. We have my Super A and some work on Rogers tractors also.
Thank GOD for a friend like Roger! There is no substitute for experience!! Love your videos.
Thanks Pat
Looking forward to the install and reassembly. I have a 140 to do, I am sure it will be very similar. Great stuff here.
Great job, thanks for sharing the progress. My son and myself are following the 1 year Bible schedule. Thanks for mailing it again.
You are very welcome.

Hey Phil
Not to worry. January and February are going to have a lot of shop time. We’re going to work on Rogers 130 and Super A
Thanks for thanking us long . Wish I had this skills.

That would be cool for sure. I did buy a front and rear seal package.
Wish I lived closer I would enjoy working on the tractor with you guys
Amen to that.

Thanks Jeffery I’ll definitely go back and look at Pete’s video.

Hey Johnny that’s kinda what Roger had planned. Talked to Brandon at Burch Tractor and that’s what he does when he is taking them off.
Hello Joey. Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John.
Getting the take apart done! Might consider painting grill while waiting on parts to come in. Good job.
Alvis @oldredtractors is going to take care of it. I want to run it some this spring first.
Good to see y’all about to get it up and going if you can get off Jan 31 feb 1 or feb 2 y’all alt to go to the suthen farm show at the fair grounds
I might try to get down there Feb 1
I look forward to seeing the Super A in action.
Thanks Mark.
Great job glad you have some good help that has snap-on

No I have to work. I was hoping for a little snow to try the new tires out. Lol
That super a reminds me of my grandfather's he had before the block busted on and he then he brought the 140 to replace it
Hey DeLandon
Good to hear from you.
@@Jtwes same to you I just got me 6ft bush hog for my john deere tractor
Hi Joey , that was some old school mechanical ingenuity. It good to see two friends working together. Y’all made good progress on that day. Looking forward to seeing the finished results. Thanks for sharing. 😎😎 👍
Thanks Tommy
Probably will take about 3 videos to get it all wrapped up.
Looks good Joey….. now you know how to do mine too 🤣
Yes sir 👍
@@Jtwes hoping I don’t have to do mine any time soon…. But it is pretty much all the way at the end of its adjustment, so 🤷🏻♂️
Does a 140 not have a hub that requires oil? My cub had a service hole or hub that you add oil too, I guess I assumed all the offset tractors did?
I’ve never looked to be honest.
@@Jtwes with the 140 being newer I didn't know it it was maybe a sealed bearing
Now is the time to do that grille.
I thought I might run it some this Spring and when the crops get laid by in July we can work on that then. Get the bugs out so to speak.
@@Jtwes just let me know
Where is roger located..i have a super a that id like to rebuild..i use it now but would like it freshened up
He lives in Caswell with me.
Could you use a wheel puller and heat the shaft a little while tapping @ 12,3,6&9 positions?
We’re going to make a special puller to get behind the pulley and not pull on the pulley itself.
