I've been in Kyokushin a while and it is brutal but I keep feeling it is not a true test of fighting skill since doing MMA. For example in MMA you are much more wary about wading in with kicks as you might get a knock - out punch to the head so the dynamic is very different.
I do boxing and kyokushin and it works perfectly for me it is better than muay thai+ boxing because muay thai has a square stance and no power in punches whislt kyokushin has a more bladed stance like a boxer
Chechenians used to train martial arts, and russians teach them perfectly! Kurbanov in ?kyokushin karate is real killer, but in kickbox ? iam in doubt!

By the way, that seminary took place in Poland, where also is a lot good Kyokushin fighters.
