  • The Peruzzo Scorpion 1400 is a front flail mower that is mounted at the front hitch and driven by the front PTO of a Kubota B2261 compact tractor.
    Peruzzo also offers original scarifying blades that can be mounted in between the flails by which the flail mower is turned into a verticutter. In this video the mounting of the blades is shown and the verticutting performance is demonstrated.

    Great job . well explained. Peruzzo also offers of rear mounted flail collector which allows to cut/verticut and collect in one pass, thus to avoid hand collecting :-)

    Nice setup. How well does the mower articulate on the front, let's say if you approach a steep hill? I have a lot of steep banks I would like to mow with the exact same setup. Cheers from Australia

      If you approach a steep hill from the front I don't expect any issue. The wheelbase of the flail mower is rather short: distance from the front wheels to the rotating cylinder at the back of the mower is small compared to a rotary mower deck. This flail mower is therefore less sensitive for bumpy terrain in forward direction. Transverse will depend on the width of the device and I expect not a lot of difference compared to other decks.

    Hello I have a question : how about the front PTO / 3point support - does it not collide with la 424 front loader?

    • @OutdoorsintheLowCountries
      @OutdoorsintheLowCountries  11 місяців тому

      As long as you don't put the front 3P in the highest position it doesn't collide. I explain this further in this video: ua-cam.com/video/yDSADPEuDfY/v-deo.html. To make sure the hydraulics aren't damaged in the case I forget this I added a cover plate just as a safety precaution (see ua-cam.com/video/EvmVd9OOC78/v-deo.html).

    How are you running a PTO on the front? Does the Peruzzo come with everything you would need to accomplish this? Is it using the mid-pto? Thank you

      My tractor has an original front hitch and front PTO from Kubota. So I can also use implements mounted at the front. This is described in more detail in the video: ua-cam.com/video/yDSADPEuDfY/v-deo.html

      The front hitch and front PTO is a standard option from the catalogue when ordering a new B2 compact tractor from Kubota Europe. Mine was delivered this way directly from my Kubota dealer.

    What hp is your tractor and what is hp is your front pto?

    • @OutdoorsintheLowCountries
      @OutdoorsintheLowCountries  10 місяців тому +1

      The tractor is 26 hp. The front PTO is taken directly from the engine. This is an original Kubota feature made by Zuidberg (see ua-cam.com/video/yDSADPEuDfY/v-deo.html). I haven't seen any specifications from this. So I expect it will be little bit less than 26 hp due to friction losses.

    with a windrower implement and baler you wouldn't have to hand collect, rent from or pay a local farmers who already have the equipment to do it for you... remember the farmers usually just scraping by barely living off land providing for others to their own detriment so employ them as not only a thanks but to support the community so they have no reason to imagine the hustle bustle of city life 💵💵💵 where everything suddenly costs gobs of money

      Thanks a lot for your suggestion, very appreciated. In the past I did have a nearby farmer doing some work on the field.
      But now, most of the garden however is not suitable for these wide and large normal agricultural equipment because of the narrow lanes and passages between the trees and bushes. That is why the compact tractor is ideal for this work.
      But I did find another way to speed up this labourly work. A video on this will follow soon.
