@@cheeseswears they'll probably have a retail box made for when it comes to retail. but for what Valve is doing now, this is more than sufficient in my opinion.
Only complaint about the packaging is putting the detail of what the box contains. Valve really puts "64gb steam deck...." or whatever storage you bought on the carrier slip. No wonder why they go missing in transit. My steam actually went "missing" or better yet stole on FedEx delivery to my house. Luckily valve is send me another one to a FedEx location instead of my home address. Can't wait to pick it up Wednesday, it should have been with me last Saturday.
@@pedrogiron5858 I made sure I got it delivered to the Post Office. That way, porch thieves can't get at them.. and less likely to go "missing". Plus me living in Canada, wouldn't want it to freeze outside either.
Enjoy your Steam Deck. It's an amazing machine. Let me just say, you should be glad and fortunate to have had such a smooth process opening up your decks for the SSD swap. Whoever was in charge of putting my deck together at the facility, the moron not only severely overtighten one of the screws on the back plate but also stripped it completely. Was an absolute hassle having to remove that messsd up screw before I could even do any actual work on the SSD.
Guess I got lucky I guess haha. I did have some issues with reflashing SteamOS where it cannot connect to 5GHz wifi networks so that was fun troubleshooting.
Nice video, I just replaced my 64gb with the same drive in your video. Toughest parts for me were disconnecting the battery and putting the sleeve over the new SSD. I actually had to peel it apart and put it over the new one since I couldn’t get it to slide all the way on. The glue appeared to be fine when I reattached it.

i like the box. it's discreet, and they keep the garbage/recyclables to a minimum. they deserve more praise in my opinion.
I think he just means why wasn’t there a retail style box for the deck like a box inside a box and the box inside has graphics
it literally says steam on the packaging label, they all do even mine

Have fun with your deck bro! It's gonna be amazing I can ensure you that.
Wanted to come back here and say absolutely. Review script in progress ;)
i get my deck on the 14th cant wait
You are gonna go places, and your Steamdeck will be there too!

That's good to hear. Long as you have the sleeve on it I don't see an issue, since the sleeve is designed to help the SSD heat.
Those who got white strap on 64 gig to pull the steam deck those were the old steam deck that that have delta fan and you get the huaying fan
Did the same to mine had it since last January love it stuck a sun screen protector on and a 1tb drive then got it a 1.5tb sd card
The charger is PD 45watt max. The steam deck runs at 15 watt max.
15W max if you are using their tdp limiter. A lot of games I play have it going upwards of 20+ watts
@@FrozenVayneGames you'd still go over 15w even if you limit it
So many steam decks get stolen, why advertise what it is on the box when it gets left outdoors
Which Windows only game are you trying to play ?
Games like Destiny 2, MW2, Forza Horizon (i buy forza off the Xbox app so). Just stuff that don’t have alternatives or workarounds on SteamOS
Did you partition the drive for both OS?
Yes.
So did I and I've not put it down since.
And on a scale from 1-10 for newbies how hard is it to switch hdd for this deck of steam…. For somone who never done this
