      Thank you for sharing your feedback. Composite racks look nice but for strapping heavy items down in the cold weather or items you don't want to slide around, we've had better luck with steel racks. Plus we feel like we can do more with them without having to buy expensive add-on accessories.

    • @utahwanderlust700
      @utahwanderlust700 5 років тому

      ATVonDemand Absolutely. But I think plastic racks look trashy besides having less utility. They look cheap, and when they get sun-faded, they look even worse. And cleaning mud off and around them is a pain. After that first muddy ride, they never look new again.

      jared n So do the Pos now. But it doesn't really fix what's wrong with plastic. Metal underneath does not help with the plastics cracking, slipping, fading, hard to clean, and forcing you to use certain tie down spots.

    Great review once again, not trying to sell us the machine, not being too harsh but still remaining realistic about its performances vs the competition.

      Thanks. We could do a lot of work or have a lot of fun with this machine. Only issue is there are so many machines in the 500cc-600cc class. We suspect reliability will not be an issue. If we were looking for a machine we were going to work with every day or on a regular basis the value in this machine really goes up.

    As an ATV enthusiast who grew up on ATV's (Honda's/Yamaha's/Polaris) I love your channel. I feel like there is a major void of ATV content in the motor sports industry as a whole right now with side by sides dominating. I personally don't care for SxS's. I'd love to see an updated video on the Polaris Sportsman 850 with power steering. I feel like great deals can be had on them (got my 2018 Sportsman 850 SP Camo for $8,730 with a 3500lb winch with synethic rope so it would'e been cheaper) vs the 1000 and it hasn't been properly reviewed by anyone since it was updated in 2017. Also, I'm hoping Honda and Yamaha introduces a new big bore Rincon and Grizzly for 2020. I have it on good authority it's happening (FINALLY) for Honda this year (hearing 850). I really hope Yamaha finally updates the Grizzly. Thanks for all these awesome video's you do and please keep them coming.

      Thanks for this awesome post you made our morning. This channel was started by ATV enthusiasts for ATV enthusiasts. Don't get us wrong, we like side-by-sides and there are a couple of people that work with us that have pretty much moved to side by sides and help us quite a bit with our UTV channel. A couple of years ago we kind of started getting sick of trying to sell people out of the ATV segment and into the side-by-side segment. That's when we decided to start a second Channel specific to side by sides and put any related content there. Are planned over the next few months is to slowly move the last few side by sides on this channel over to our side by side Channel so we can complete our mission of dedicating this channel 100% to the ride-on segment. We could be subscriber whores and keep side by sides on this channel collecting a larger subscriber base in one spot but again we are ATV people at heart and we figured we need a publication that's just ours. While I was filming at the Honda Talon intro I was asking Honda when they were coming out with a new ATV. Of course, they're not talking. We have seen evidence that the foreman will be getting an update. Our friends at ATV com should have a story on that later today. We hope you are right though Regarding Honda coming out with a new Big Bore. We have a new Sportsman 1000 waiting to be picked up this weekend. we will be testing that machine again due to its updates and clutching in power steering. First, we will be producing a test on the updated Can-Am Outlander 1000. We have been enjoying doing little interbrand shootouts like our yfz450r vs Raptor 700R video and our KingQuad 500 versus 750 video we are currently working on. you are right, we have not reviewed the 850 since the year it came out. we have wondered in the past if people really need a 1000cc ATV remembering how the Sportsman 850 Already seem like it was more than adequate. we have a lot of stuff on her plate to catch up on currently but you are right, testing the 850 is overdue and we think running it head-to-head with the 1000 might help a lot of people feel better about going with the Plenty powerful enough 850. You got a smoking deal on your 850 and you bring up a great point. Sorry for rambling and thanks again for helping get our day started off with a smile.

      @@ATVonDemand My pleasure man you returned the favor with your post! I just love, love, love ATV's and having grown up on a Foreman 450 ES, literally, I'd love Honda to update the Foreman again. Heck, any update from Honda is a good one lol. The person I talked to said the update to the Rincon was going to happen last year but they wanted to finish updating their SxS lineup completely before moving their focus back to ATV's to 'compete at the highest level' was what I was told. I asked what he meant by that and he said they don't want to take a back seat anymore in performance compared to other brands. So take that for what it's worth. I'll personally believe it when I see it lol. I'll have some of my first riding footage of my 850 up tomorrow for my 6 month review. I'll be sure to share and link your channel going forward and I look forward to the future tests and reviews y'all will be putting together throughout the year!

      That's a heck of an endorsement thank you! Our winter has been so wet it took a few months to get these machines filmed without getting them completely caked in mud. I know mud is fun but if the machine turns brown in the first 15 minutes it kind of makes getting a good quality test video difficult. That being said, we are going to ask for a loan extension on our KingQuad 750 so that we can do a bolt on Project later in the summer. Over the next two to three months we have a few projects we've been working on for too long that are going to be wrapped up.

    Even though not really changed a lot since 2005 the KQ500 & 750 are still a very well made ATV. I had the least issues with my 08 750 than any other sport utility quad I have ever owned. Like to see a back up recoil on the engine, something we don't see nowadays in case of a spent battery out on the trail. I shimmed the primary on my 750 to lower the high range gearing a little bit to have better response at low speed trails without having to stop and use Low range too much imo. I sent out the secondary and had it machined from a popular online forum with a lot of Suzuki's years ago. It brought the top speed back up that I lost from shimming the primary and kept the extra grunt down low in H range. I also prefer the Suzuki clutch set up even better than Yamaha's centrifugal clutch set up. Reason is the weights were non greased and no build up of dust and crud in the grease like with the Yamaha over time..Less maintenance basically. While not the off the line powerhouse of my previous Prairie 700 the KQ was better in every other way...

It came from the factory with a broken motor mount and a check engine light while taking it off the trailer along with various other electrical issues. Not saying Polaris is bad and I love my regular 570 but I know the two seater is a lemon. Also I do the maintamce at half the recommended intervals and grease everything every ride and clean it every time as well.

      We are getting a little late in the 2019 season to consider any additional new model tests for this model year. However, the new model year begins in a couple of short months so maybe that will be on our list for 2020.

      Outlander 650 is a hidden gem among the 1000 and 800 club. Great unit. Gobs of power and priced great.

      We have a review the Scrambler 1000 from the year it came out and we don't believe there were any major updates between then and 2018. We also did a review on a highly upgraded Scrambler 1000 project in 2017. Might be worth a watch.

    1).. wish the frame was thicker.. Broke my'n in a few places. :(
    2) needs thicker racks to handle us fat Americans. 66lbs on the front rack is Not enough. Honda 500 has 99lbs front n 187 rear.
    I've very torn to stick with Suzuki or go yamaha or honda..
