Maaaaan sleep paralysis was crazy, i used to get it alot when i was very young but somehow it just stopped like once i got around in my teens. Your like "ok wiggle a toe, or TRY and scream out loud for someone to wake you up" but you just cant. The part where he sadi "i gotta count..." hits nail on head for me(and prob many others) bc your trying to wake up so bad but cant so you start telling yourself "ok ima count to 3 and bust out of this". Then just like he said after 30m of this you eventually bust out of it. I dont know about others but my eyes would be fully open during all of this, if my mother/father would have walked by me and seen me they would have thought i was awake, and if they tried to talk to me or get reaction there was no way i could. I used to always worry about this happening one morning bc i know they woulda freaked tf out, but it never happened. I dont wanna sound crazy either lol... but i swear there was always what looked and felt like a "being(s)" from another race/planet near me watching. Its kinda hard to explain over txt, cause they were never really like right in front of me but just watching. Best way to describe it is like a creep would be eavesdropping on someone who doesnt wanna be scene. All you see is their eyes and very small part of them looking at you from the otherside of the doorframe/room(used to sleep right on the floor next to my mother during these times and the closet & master bathroom doors/doorway were just few feet away from me). Imagine being like 10yrs old and going through this, yea it was terrifying which is the reason i slept as close as i could to my parents.
