One thing you can be sure of with the 70’s Columbo episodes is that the music is going to be excellent.

Fun fact: When you try to sink a dead body it will typically always float to the surface, because all the rotting flesh will make gas causing the body to become buoyant

"Murder Yacht"? IIRC the murder takes place in the house. This is a murderer's yacht, not a murder yacht.

Wasn't this an incredibly risky move by Columbo? I mean he had no backup, he went on a boat which the killer had full control over and he was seasick. Talk about putting yourself in a vulnerable position!

You’re right. Of course Columbo might have been pretending to be sick. Sometimes when Columbo puts himself in a sticky position, he has a Sargent and a Uniformed officer waiting nearby.

Pretty late response, but no, not really. The killer doesn't feel at all cornered, and you can imagine that an agent like Columbo has a few people who know where he is and what he is doing at all times. If he disposed of Columbo here he'd immediately come under heavy scrutiny due to Columbo's colleagues accounting for him. In the killer's eyes he would only be creating a problem when he already feels like he is going to get away scott free(because he doesn't believe it's possible for Columbo to nail him).
That being said, in real life money can do surprising things(and the killer is clearly affluent) and I wouldn't take the gamble myself either.

Depends on their rank upon retirement. Are they a Brigadier, Major, Lieutenant General or Full General (4 Stars). Absolutely. Yes. Generals are paid very well. Whether they are a 1 Star or especially a 4 Star.

    • @NYCZ31

While Generals do get paid very well, it is way lower than people in the private sector make who lead organizations that big. But when general retire they can leverage that experience into many lucrative ventures. In the case of this general, he had a construction company that received many government contracts.

Case solved. When Columbo was questioning Suzanne Pleshette near the end of the video, Eddie Albert chimed up and said, "He thinks I shot him." - But no one ever mentioned how the victim was killed. The murderer gave himself away and even Columbo doesn't pick up on it.

I'm pretty sure her first statement to Columbo was that she saw a man shoot another man. She told her mother exactly that when she first witnessed it, and she told the policeman she saw a man in a bathrobe shoot a man in uniform. Also, when Columbo first spoke to the general he told him someone reported seeing a shooting in his house!! Pretty much everyone talks about A SHOOTING.
