Wow. 15 gallons change a day. That’s crazy to me.

Hey Than, I don't know if you tried already but they sell plastic razor blades on Amazon and they do really good. If the back isn't already really scratched up it should come out really clean.

My insane plate is almost 3”, but it took quite a while to get that size. So yeah, it’s a very slow grower and my favorite plate by far!

I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.

Great chat guys, I really enjoy seeing your tank Nathan, I’m curious to know what settings you run your orphek atlantiks at

Thank you! I have customized the default "coral color" program to make the lights more blue in the evening hours, but that's about it.

Than/Nathan how much do you care about daily dkh swings between day and night? I was trying to minimise these by dosing less at night and more in the day but I think this just overcomplicated things. Refreshing to hear someone either such a nice tank day they just test alk by hand just a few times a week rather than a robot that does it multiple times a day!

In the past, I did less at night and more during the day like you. But now I have it evenly spread out across the day. The Alk swing is so small I don't think it makes a difference.

@@NathansReef thanks! I have been trying it spread out evenly for a few days and it's massively helped keep pH higher at both, and the swing is about .5dkh.

@@tidalgardens On my own 2400 liters I had 10 OR3, I take care of a system of 4000 liters and he had 12 in total. Of the 22 together 6 are still running. Special the long 150 cm blue has problems, had 3 that lasted less than 4 months. GREAT service on the other side, little slow but they have replaced 8 lamps so far.
Now we have AI Blades. They are not just a little slow...

Nice update - made me go shop for some more flow pumps for my systems.
