    Hey Joel, great review ! What’s up with some of the compartments had slam latches and some didn’t ? Also I saw a big “X” on the front above the headlight, what’s up with that. Let’s just I’ll keep my 30Z 😂

    • @CozyLivingMachine

      Thanks! And I suspect that it had some issue and the X marked the spot there! I really hate the twisties, I suspect that was a cost saving measure for them and quicker for them to install those things. They're so easy to break in to, unfortunately! I'd definitely keep the 30Z as well. 😂😂

      @@CozyLivingMachine they should put a much larger X on that thing 😂 Ya ours has those fricken twisties which too am not a fan. I don’t know about the lam latch, but the damn locks I hear on the twistie doors are all key the same. I’m going to order new locks just to be safe

      @@georges4562 true. 😂😂 And that's what I've heard as well! Many are the 751 key that we all have. And I'd order something harder to grip and twist around with pliers, personally!

    There was a Newmar Bay Star visible through the windshield. Hoping you did a video on that one.

      @CozyLivingMachine  Рік тому

      I did not do that one because it seemed a little more beat up inside and didn't feel fair to judge the model off of that interaction, but I will say, some folks like the Newmars, and I just find them to be pretty overpriced for what you get - and the gassers are... visually suboptimal interior-wise. 😂 in my gasser class A comparison video a while back, we touched on the Newmar Bay Star specifically and it wasn't good lol

    the king bed alone makes this a rarity - not many 30' rigs have them so quite a bit can be forgiven. Very true the materials and workmanship leave a LOT to be desired, but at the ~$130k new,

    When you are on a trip ie out and about outside of a major city. What happens if and when you have mechanical electrical problems? Towing? Road side repairs? The bigger issue might be how to remove all of your personal stuff before the mechanics or technicians start working on it? With a rig this large, do you need another large rig just to move your stuff out of it? Most cars and trucks have dealers or mechanics available for most items in medium and some small towns. I am thinking of a visit to towns 100 miles from the big cities. That must be a huge towing bill even for minor things like tire replacement.

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  Рік тому +1

      We have roadside assistance for about $9/mo that will tow up to 250 miles in any direction, and expect that our warranty, for whatever components need it, will be covered. However, when we've gone in for repair in the past, we generally stay in our unit (because it's our home) overnight and maybe grab a few things for the days when we need to be out of it! Our insurance also covers hotels and car rentals as needed as well, up to a certain dollar amount, so we've never really worried about anything like that, thankfully! However, we'd end up calling either Ford or the mfr of the motorhome if needed to make sure we could find a center that could fit our rig without troubles! We do need to get another tire repair kit, but that's definitely preferable to towing for a hole in the tire, if that's an option at the time!

      It sure was! And $12k... Holy crap!! Must have had to do with the size of rig required, possible hazmat and then distance. Sheesh... Glad they were okay!

    Welp. It was what I expected.
    Not sure why they only used the twisty latches for the propane? I guess they don’t think people will try to remove it? Shouldn’t all the latches match?
    Maybe there’s nothing on the left wall of the driver’s seat so you can put the arm rest down? Not sure but also didn’t like it.
    Can we talk about that tv placement? Does it swing out or do you just lose access to the cabinet behind it?
    They got the towel rack and the hand towel placement correct in the bathroom, at least. So there’s one good thing lol
    This is an absolute no for me at that price. I expect a lot more comfortable seating over $200k. Maybe I’m being unrealistic 🤷‍♀️
    Great vid!

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  Рік тому +1

      I believe the twisty latches are because of cost savings (which everyone hates) but I do believe that the mfrs are required to keep that propane bay constantly accessible for emergencies, so even ours don't have locks! Kind of an interesting little deal there!
      I'm biased towards "tiny homes on wheels" where they use every inch of available space for something and this waste is emotionally unacceptable. 🤣
      That TV DOES swing out I believe, though I recall the doors of the cabinets being shifted so if it was against the wall they can open! A manual, lifting televator would be my preference. 😬
      I CANNOT BELIEVE how expensive that product is. Unbelievable. My ass better be VERY HAPPY at $200k. Just goes to show that people are buying these rigs for SOME reason, and it isn't logic. I want to survey people to choose why they picked their rigs. I imagine price is likely the primary factor behind these purchases, but there are definitely better deals to be had, I'm sure of it!!

    • @heatherb3886
      @heatherb3886 Рік тому

      @@CozyLivingMachine Alright, I didn’t realize that about the propane bay. That actually makes sense. I suppose it’s the same deal for the generators too. Can you change out the twisty latches to slam latches without replacing the door?
      Totally agree that’s a complete waste of usable space. Something, ANYTHING, would be better than nothing lol
      Oh ok, I didn’t notice the cabinet doors were shifted for the tv. That would have been completely unacceptable to have an inaccessible cabinet because of where they placed that tv. A televator would be my preference in any rig, but I think mounting the tv on a cabinet door (within a reasonable viewing area) is a solid setup as well.
      Yes, that is an insane price for that. I think a survey is a great idea! I do agree price has a lot to do with it, I’m interested to see the reasoning people have. I kept looking until I found something with a workable layout (slides in), features I needed (fireplace), had good ratings and reviews, and wasn’t overly priced. I think many people just don’t do the research or maybe they’re doing the wrong research. Idk. But I’d be very interested in the survey results.

    It's a Thor, what can I say, even at a lower price range, I would NOT buy it!!! That's, why I'm looking at Winnebago. I saw a Winsport 38 footer as my introduction to Thor, brand freaken new and it was full of bad quality craftmanship. Galley doors out of squarre so it would NEVER properly close, screws missing from hinges... The list went on and on... No thank you, I would not even get paid to drive one...💩💩💩
