5:44 The Boxes created by the Thief are the same level as the thief. So, have a high level thief (Maid + Soda method if you want) creating high level boxes, and have new characters attack the boxes for quick leveling (for early-ish game).
My thief is my best unit I got a little carried away early on with stealing stats then using my hostages as fuel to further increase that disparity and now she is a goddess of destruction.
You can use thief to create boxes for the rabbit monster class that does more damage if they're at a higher altitude and certain abilities won't hit it because of the height the AI sometimes uses up a turn to kill a box too.
I miss old sleep and poison skill for thief. Those skill is my 1st time breaking meta by defeat enemy with 1k level gap lol. Sleep + poison + lv 1 cleric heal then your pleb can kill a mountain and got soaked in all those exp.
I'm coming into Disgaea 5 from 2, do thieves no longer have the Consciousness skill? That thing was insane. Just running around stealing people's consciousness with 100% accuracy and the movement to cross the map in a single turn.
Ah yes, Clergy and Thief are amazing. I find the Healer's unique evility to be utter useless compared to the Clergy's. Usually they have to much Res that any heal will be a full HP heal regardless, and having all the status ailments removed while healing is a bless for a more offensive playstyle, as it allows you to advance faster and safer. His exclusive skill is also pretty great for that, as you can put any unit at the middle of a bunch of annoying enemies like zombies, mothmans and fairies without worring about any status ailment being applied to that unit. And in the Main Story, his Staff Rebellion evility is great for killing bosses. It's crazy how he can deal more damage than anyone on the party with a 2 ranged basic attack using a staff. It's a very useless evility later on, but it's extremely broken early game. I never really saw Thieves as a support unit, but I guess they can be considered as one. Disarming a boss, "going for shopping" on the Item World or decreasing enemy's speed with a Gun basic attack, she's very useful on her own way. On a side note, I managed to unlock every non story locked humanoid class while still on the demo in PS4 and level her up to 165+ levels on the process due to her "Create Box" ability. It took me around 17 hours to do so, and by that time I wanted to use the main characters instead, but it was so worth it.
@@arkadiuszjandylewski152 At the endgame, yeah, it's better to use Christo since you can customize him around his exclusive abilities. But until there, Clergy imo is the best healer: No need to waste 2 turns or 2 characters to heal and remove ailments, has amazing Res growth which is his only stat that matters, and it unlocks one of the best Evilities to kill story bosses early on with Staff Rebellion (which you can get on anyone, but doing so with Clergy will get him stronger stats).
When you level a sub class to max you get that class’ unique evility. For example leveling twin dragon on a sage gets you the twin heads evility. You still have to actually buy it at the evility shop though.
I rather play with uniques and dlc (playing on switch) that generics, but that's to your videos I'm learning about the unique generic skills. I'm sad that LD can't be taught to uniques, but well I may create a sage just to farm in IW
I am pretty sure I know why the thief can now make boxes. The item world or what ever this game's random dungeons are. My guess they are their purely so there is just no way for you to get stuck because of rng. It also seems like they are really good at distracting those prinnys.
I'd agree but not every player will have a thief. If they were there for that reason you'd think a thief class would be mandatory, like they would give the skill to a story character instead or something. Neat idea but I think it's just another tool for the player to mess with. Disgaea encourages players to try and push the game in weird directions.
Why would someone not have a thief? In less it has changed since 2 aren't they one of the best hit stats of most classes? But I did think of something else at work. Xp block. So if a thief makes a level 100 box and a level 50 on your team kills it that is free xp.
I only have the complete version, and I believe you can only get him when you are in the complete version of disgaea 5. If you have the complete version there is a side story of Laharl's and you get the rest of the squad
The cleric seems to have a female voice... the only indication I can find that it's supposed to be a male in D5 is that it wants you to give it a male name... but, I kind of wonder if that's a bug... like the developers forgot to switch the base gender in the code from the previous games... -- The one that really confuses me is the fairy because it's voice changes at random between the two genders depending on the audio sample that gets played... (which also seems like a bug to me...).
Nope. Clerics are indeed male, they just dress like little girls. Japan loves that stuff. Even the male clerics from the first Disgaea dress somewhat feminine.
No, it's a boy. Their class description straight up says they get pissed at being mistaken for girls. Also you must really not be familiar with anime culture at all if you're this confused about it seemingly being the wrong gender.

Thief + Phantom Angel Evility = any item stolen +20 on the rarity
Yep, that's pretty much exactly how you say the word espoir.
These are good videos. I'd love to see something similar for the other Disgaea games.

2:28 Looks more like D1s cleric hit puberty in a big way and went on to become a magic knight instead, so they had to get someone else
Does that mean that he is trans?
2:26 What a manly man. We need to feminize that thing somehow.
Really hyped for more, my dude
Thanks, More on the way very soon
I think you meant to say dood

i bet the thief can help by stealing weapons off the enemy as a disarm
Hmmmm...I don't think so but you can steal accessories, armor and consumables off the foes
the klergys are a bit weird.they work as healers but they dont like that and thus they force themselves to wear those clothes.....yeah,its boosh xD
Remember the words of warning from Admiral Ackbar.

Wouldn't the Maid's Unique skill be really good on the Thief since you can use a Hand Item to steal twice?
It only works on restoration items sadly
It doesn't, actually. You always could use attack items twice with maid and hands work with maids evility, just tested it.
"This is some jojo stand crap" :D love it
