This one is all about beef tomahawk steak. Not only do they look good, but they taste great too! And who doesn't like steak with a handle?! Another option is the beef bront rib from the 6th, 7th, and 8th beef ribs. It's not always easy to find beef tomahawks at a meat shop because a lot of places don't have access to the primal cuts to make them.

So you have your tomahawk steaks, now what? Check out these 2 videos for how to cook a tomahawk steak: Seth also gives a quick overview about his favorite technique at 8:00. Keep in mind, a typical tomahawk steak is about 2.5 inches (6.5cm) thick) So tossing it on a hot grill won't work and you'll ruin an expensive and hard to find cut of meat.

▶️ • Bison Tomahawk Steaks ... (Reverse sear tomahawk steaks on a charcoal grill)
Some other options as you're cutting are beef ribeye steaks or a rib roast, some people will call the tomahawk steak a tomahawk ribeye.

1:10 - Start by removing the beef skirt steak.
1:23 - Remove the plate from the beef ribs.
2:49 - How to remove the inner beef rib membrane with a meat hook.
5:50 - Trim out the meat between each rib. There are 7 ribs in a beef tomahawk rib section.

I never thought in my life before coming across this channel that I'll find butcher's work to be interesting, entertaining and work of art or that I'd watch a 10 minute videos of a butcher cutting meat and enjoy watching it and wait for more videos to watch. When I was growing up we butchered a few hogs but I never liked the meat compared to what we would get at the grocery store. I seen why after I watched their videos on curing bacon. Very informative.

@@caltch Those high intensity hog farms don't have them move around too much, so the meat is tender--more than hogs who may be raised outdoors, run around and live longer. There are also cutting and trimming techniques to help makes cuts nicer. Once I learned curing bacon, I find my own much better than store bought bacon.

I love your videos. From when I was a little boy, I recall going to the butcher with my mom or dad and I noticed immediately how this is truly an art. It saddens me that a good, traditional butcher shop is few and far between nowadays and I would have liked to become a butcher but my career path took me elsewhere.

Tomahawk steak is tough to cut and grill - this guy is an all round professional who knows how to do both..... kudos!
Also now I know why tomahawk's are expensive, not all butchers can cut professionally that takes time and perfection.

Invariably, the supermarkets are being lazy and cutting them on the saw. I can tell because the bones are all splintered and they don't scrape the meat well enough to hide the sawdust.
