In terms of actual shows 1987 would be among the best for me
      1988 is good
1991; me personally, not so good

And with the 1st 2 Survivor Series' on VHS, they edited not only the match order, but the matches themselves

To be fair, I think you could've (if you didn't want to use Bret/Shawn) have given the golden ring bell to Kane Vs. Mankind from 97. Thought the build was great, the character clash was epic and their actual match was really damn good. Shame that it's overshadowed, I think it deserves some love, or in this case, a golden ring bell.

The Team Bischoff v Team Austin is considered to be an underrated classic in the Shawn Michaels match catalogue. Shawn Michaels gave his heart out despite him losing big time
Survivor Series 2002 marked the debut of the Elimination Chamber match where Shawn Michaels won the match and his fourth and last world title
The Winner Takes All match in the Survivor Series 2001 may be crapped on due to the majority of the participants being mainly WWE stars with only two guys that are pure WCW and ECW stars. With everything on the line, the two hostile camps decided to put on an intense war for survival

      Nice; I was at 2005
The only Big 4 show I haven't attended is Summerslam

Unless they bring SummerSlam to Detroit, I think your best chance would probably be next year's SummerSlam at Scotiabank Arena (I'm still trying to get used to that name) in Toronto.

My picks for the best matches in each decade, also known as golden ring bells for survivor series from 1987 to 2017, would be Hogan vs. Andre in 1987, Bret and Stone Cold in 1996, the Stone Cold vs. Eric Bischoff elimination match from 2003 and the 2014 match between team Cena vs. team authority.

    Survivor Series 1987
    - Agreed. The 5 on 5 elimination tag team was great. The rematch from WrestleMania 3 and continue the story all the way to Saturday Night's Main Event and WrestleMania 4. The Women's traditional match was awesome as well. It's women's wrestling done right. Survivor Series 1987 was a great show.
    Survivor Series 1988
    - Agreed. The 10 on 10 elimination tag team match got to be top 5 best traditional Survivor Series matches ever. The double turn was great. Another great Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 1989
    - Agreed. Ultimate Warrior's road to WrestleMania 6 was started here. He did pass with flying colors as a future main eventer and became one of the biggest stars ever in wrestling. A good Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 1990
    - Agreed. Undertaker's debut is one of the best debuts in company history. The match is criminally underrated. It was solid. Another good Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 1991
    - Agreed. The 4 on 4 elimination tag team was a great match with a shitty finish. Survivor Series 1991 is top 5 worst Survivor Series ever.
    Survivor Series 1992
    - Agreed. Bret and Shawn have amazing chemistry and this match is forgotten. An underrated classic. The tag match between Razor/Ric vs Perfect/Savage was a great match as well. Survivor Series 1992 was horrible and a top 10 worst Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 1993
    - I guess so. I didn't care for the none of the matches on this show. For my money, Survivor Series 1993 is in the worst Survivor Series ever.
    Survivor Series 1994
    - Agreed. Bret Hart vs Bob Backland was an amazing match. This match is technical wrestling done right. Two great technicians showcasing great wrestling/storytelling and the finish is one of the best finishes to a title match at Survivor Series. Owen Hart role in this match was magnificent. Survivor Series 1994 was a solid show and little underrated.
    Survivor Series 1995
    - Agreed. Diesel and Bret Hart had awesome chemistry and their match is one of the best matches in Survivor Series history. For how crappy that WWF 1995 was, Survivor Series was the only bright spot, and it was the best show for the company in 1995.
    Survivor Series 1996
    - Agreed. Bret Hart vs Stone Cold is one of the best matches of either man's career which is saying a lot. This match does get overlooked due to their legendary submission match at WrestleMania 13. Just outstanding shit. Survivor Series 1996, next to Survivor Series 2002 is the best Survivor Series ever.
    Survivor Series 1997
    - Agreed. While I personally feel that Survivor Series 1997 is a decent show, due the great storytelling that was played out throughout the night, setting the table for the Attitude Era to kick off the next month, The Montreal Screwjob got the ball rolling. This match and show are more for storytelling than match quality, which work IMO.
    Survivor Series 1998
    - Agreed. You could make the argument for Stone Cold vs Mankind, which was a great match as well, but I wouldn't have any argument with The Rock vs Mankind. Just another great match in their amazing rivalry. The finish was amazing as The Rock became the Corporate Champion. I said this before, Survivor Series 1998 is one of the greatest Survivor Series ever and one of the best Attitude Era PPVs ever. This show proves that great storytelling can beat in ring quality any day of the week. Survivor Series 1998 got to be in the top 3 best Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 1999
    - Agreed. Chyna vs Chris Jericho is a hidden gem in Survivor Series history. They put on a great match. You could make an agreement for 4 on 4 elimination tag team match with The Hollys and Too Cool vs Edge and Christian and The Hardy Boyz. Survivor Series 1999 is the most disappointing Survivor Series of all time. We missed out on what could have been the greatest triple threat match ever. This show could have been good, but the execution of the show failed. I wouldn't put Survivor Series 1999 as the worst Survivor Series, but it's in the top 10 easy.
    Survivor Series 2000
    - Agreed. Triple H vs Stone Cold was an amazing brawl. Triple H and Stone Cold had a classic rivalry and delivered a great match. I might be in the minority that liked the finish to the match since it tied in their story. I personally feel Survivor Series 2000 get a lot of shit as a show because how amazing 2000 PPVs was in the WWF. I thought it was a good show from beginning to end, from card structure, the flow of it and you didn't have any bad matches outside Regal vs Holly and the opener.
    Survivor Series 2001
    - Agreed. While the Invasion Storyline is one of the worst storylines in wrestling history, the 5 on 5 elimination tag team is one of the best Survivor Series matches ever. Survivor Series 2001 I have mixed feelings for just like SummerSlam 2001. From a in ring quality standpoint, was great, but the storytelling and finishes in the matches sucked and it's kind of hard to overlooked that just like most of 2001 after WrestleMania 17. But Survivor Series 2001 was still a passible show.
    Survivor Series 2002
    - Agreed. The first Elimination Chamber was a classic match and it still the best chamber match ever. Survivor Series 2002 is the greatest Survivor Series of all time. One of the best PPVs in company history.
    Survivor Series 2003
    - Agreed. Team Austin vs Team Bischoff is one of the most underrated classic matches in company history. This match was outstanding from the match quality and the storytelling. This have to be Shawn Michaels' most underrated performance ever in a match. Survivor Series 2003 was a very good show even though is a little overrated.
    Survivor Series 2004
    - Agreed to an extent. While Shelton vs Christian was a great match, I personally would of pick Team Orton vs Team HHH. I can't complain, Shelton and Christian are two great workers putting on a great match. It is a hidden gem in Survivor Series history. Survivor Series 2004 next to Survivor Series 1995 is the most underrated Survivor Series of all time. What a great show it was.
    Survivor Series 2005
    - Agreed. Triple H vs Ric Flair is an underrated classic. These two put on a kick ass match. Survivor Series 2005 is the last great Survivor Series. What an awesome show and it was the brand split done right.
    Survivor Series 2006
    - Agreed to an extent. Like Survivor Series 1993, Chris Benoit vs Chavo Guerrero was the best match by default even though you can make an argument for Undertaker vs Mr. Kennedy. I didn't like most of the matches on this show. Survivor Series 2006 is top 5 worst Survivor Series ever and the most forgettable one.
    Survivor Series 2007
    - Agreed. Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton is an underrated match. This match is one of the best matches of either man's career which is saying a lot. Survivor Series 2007 was a good show.
    Survivor Series 2008
    - Agreed to an extent. You could make the argument for John Cena vs Chris Jericho. Like Survivor Series 1993, and 2006 I didn't care for any of the matches on this show. Survivor Series 2008 is top 10 worst Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 2009
    - Agreed. The Triple Threat match was great despite it being predictable as hell. Survivor Series 2009 was shockingly a decent show for how bad the WWE was in 2009.
    Survivor Series 2010
    - I guess so. Like Survivor Series 1993, 2006, and 2008, I personally didn't care for any of the matches, nor I care about this show. Survivor Series 2010, next to Survivor Series 2006 is a forgettable show. It wasn't bad, it was an alright show.
    Survivor Series 2011
    - Agreed. CM Punk Vs Alberto Del Rio was a great match. I feel Survivor Series 2011 is a little overrated, but I would say it was an okay Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 2012
    - I guess so. Like Survivor Series 1993, 2006, 2008, and 2010, I didn't care for none of the matches on this shows. Next to Survivor Series 2006, and 2010, Survivor Series 2012 is a forgettable show.
    Survivor Series 2013
    - I guess so. Like Survivor Series 1993, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012, I didn't care for none of the matches on this shows. Survivor Series 2013 is top 2 worst Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 2014
    - Agree. The 5 on 5 elimination tag team match saved this show from being top 10 worst Survivor Series of all time. Even though the aftermath of this match was stupid, the match was very good with a great finish with Sting's debut. Survivor Series 2014 was an alright show.
    Survivor Series 2015
    - I guess so. I didn't care for none of the matches on this shows. This show was really more about the tournament and The Undertaker more than the matches is self. But Survivor Series 2015 was a horrible show and top 10 worst Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 2016
    - Disagree. I hated this match. It was way too long and too much of a spot fest IMO. I might get shit for this, but I thought that Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar was the best match as it was short, sweet, and to the point. Plus, it created the story for WrestleMania 33. Survivor Series 2016 is top 3 worst Survivor Series.
    Survivor Series 2017
    - Agree. AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar was a very good match. I thought both guys match up well and put out a solid bout. Survivor Series 2017 is a vastly overrated show. It was tolerable show, not a good one.

Don't forget, James, the long-term collateral damage to the Montreal ScrewJob caused Owen Hart's death 18 months later.
After Owen died, no humour that went unfavourably(against) the Hart Family, Canada's WWE fans, and Canada's WWE TV partners was funny anymore, out of ETERNAL respect to Owen's memory. WWE no longer had any business telling Hart jokes after Owen was killed.
And that's it. The ScrewJob had a horrific long-term post-match legacy afterward.

Thank goodness that Mahal/Lesnar never happened, that would’ve been worse than Brock’s matches with Ambrose and Orton

    • @michaelbandada9887
      @michaelbandada9887 5 років тому

It would be a total crapfest and everybody knows the outcome. With AJ Styles as an opponent for Lesnar, it would be at least a fascinating mix of brute strength (Lesnar) and technical high-flying prowess (Styles)

The one thing that never made sense to me was why would Mr Fuji turn his back on Demolition in a match where the Tag Team Championship wasn’t on the line.

    • @WeAreProWrestling
      @WeAreProWrestling  6 років тому +2

The way they set the story up is that "Demolition's heads got too big & they thought they knew more than Master Fuji"; but yeah, it didn't make too much sense from a kayfabe standpoint. Reality wise; probably because Demolition was getting over as faces, so they had to turn them.
