Unfortunately, in the Chinese server, she's essentially nerfed to oblivion. Before the nerf, we liked her with a burst build. But now, she has to be built tankier cuz she can't kill fast enough to get out.

Same goes with Diaochan lol,Shangguan and her role is Mage/Assassin but everyone turned them into Mage/tank or Fighter/Mage

@@Elvynna512 Diaochan was never meant to be burst or be built pure damage. Her kit relies on long and dragged on skirmishes. Diaochan needs some defense and regen capacity due to her play style.
Shangguan Wan'er on the other hand, her kit is supposed to be assassin/mage type. Tencent reduce her skill floor which in turn reduce her bursting capabilities. Shangguan doesn't have much mobility outside her ultimate, but unfortunately, using her ultimate is necessary to secure a kill. This leads her to being a sitting duck after her ultimate ends, whether or not you secure the kill.
Hopefully, the global did not follow the "nerfed" version of Shangguan like in the Chinese server.

I've played zata before and being able to activate his ult is totally fulfilling. BUT once enemy becomes wary of you, this hero is as good as dead when CCed.
As a mage, Zata/Shangguan is too ineffective especially with good enemies. (Even Daji/Vera is much preferable to help the team than this dmg only mage)
This hero is more akin to assassin that doesn't jungle.
DPS mages have range but this one goes in too deep to deal DMG

that's because shangguan is used as an assasin who can do a lot of dmg early to end the game quicker and make the enemy archer's surviving environment a living hell, aint no way u saying daji or veera better than shangguan and zata dude
