@@ГеоргийМурзич Nyet. Su-35’s OLS-35 can barely detect a standard fighter-sized TGT from frontal aspect at 35km, 90km rear aspect. That’s for a fighter with no IR stealth systems. My new favourite, on my two favourite fighters. I've been waiting for an interview with someone who'd flown both jets. Outstanding interview! The story of mixing it up with the Mig's....GOLD!!! Thanks to you both for this clip
Great story, great guy. I met some of the best pilots that flew my plane in the Air Force. Crew Chief 76064(A Model). Arrived brand new from St. Louis in Sept 1977. Great times..
Just love his stories about the F-22. You can tell that he’s excited to talk about it. He’s not the first F-22 pilot to say that a rookie Raptor pilot can go out and clean the sky without being touched. In UAE rookie F-22 pilots went head to head against the likes of the latest model F-16’s, the Rafale, etc., with veteran pilots and still came out undefeated. What is really scary is how well it works in tandem with the Eurofighter.
What a humble and yet bubbly kinda of a personality Sir Mike 'Dozer' has...wow. Most of the folks who have spend THAT much time & experience could get very 'Protocol-ish' (attitude). The for the wonderful interview Aircrew. (Greetings & Respect from Pakistan).
You can tell that the guy is a good guy, he did his job professionally and did not simply went to "kill people". Just like the Serbian pilot once said you are there to terminate their weapons not to kill the human behind it.
Love this interview. Mike is a top class guy. These guys have a dedication you just can't believe. A fantastic insight into the life of a fighter pilot. Keep up the good work 😁
Very much, this was all kicking off when I was on the Tornado GR1 OCU at Lossiemouth, so I was more than a bit interested in events then, and amazing to hear it from the 'horses mouth' now. Keep up the good work. btw I am very much appreciative that you have not gone down the road of auto-ads popping up, that is V annoying, whereas your own voice giving a quick nod towards the Tomcat models etc does not detract at all from your overall presentation in my opinion.
Iain Bradford Thanks again, Iain. I know what you mean, and obviously our sponsors help us to keep the channel going and I would only want to work with companies that I am a fan of or would purchase from myself, and I hope this comes across to our viewers and that I am not “selling out” as it were!

Each time I watch one of your interviews I think, It will be hard to top this one, and yet you do it every time :-) Well done sir!!! To both of you ;-) I haven't flown myself for years due to losing my medical, but I do love to shoot!!! I recently ordered an M1 Garand to add to my collection, can't wait to get my hands on that wonderful piece of history! Our gov allowed 86000 of them back into the country that were out on the lend lease program, so glad that they are allowing these wonderful pieces of history to come home :-) Again, well done!!!
I agree Brian, this channel has swiftly become what is in my opinion the best aviation related YT channel available. I've run out of superlatives, and every friend without exception I introduce to this place, invariably begins stumping it to their friends in turn. I'm hoping this channel hits 100k in the next year, it certainly deserves it.
A great interview! Great story! This is the second interview you’ve done with an F-15 pilot (I watched Garry Goff’s interview) and they both said the same thing about their first flight. Light speed like in Star Wars and they had to catch up with the plane. Brilliant! As for looking up every time there’s a plane overhead, all of us aviation enthusiasts will do so until the day we die. It’s just in our blood!
👍.......im hooked! These interviews are absolutely intriguing. I really envy these gentlemen as well as respect what discipline / mindset it takes to "cut it"
I was an Airborne Infantryman stationed at JBER(Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardon). Used to love watching the F15s fly. Was there when they transitioned to the F22 and they just blew me away. Being Airborne Infantry I spent A LOT of time at the jump shack on the Airforce side of post. Jumped C130s, C17s, UH60s, CH47s, and even Cessnas. Did a lot of close air support training with A10s. Alaska was an awesome duty station and I highly recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity to go. Great video!
Excellent interview as usual. The interesting part is that about 6 months ago, I saw an interview with the Serb Mig-29 pilot talking about what is most likely this engagement. You should find it and attach the link here. Two pilots from opposing sides talking about the same engagement from different sides. Awesome!!!
It was Nikolic - there is a documentary about it, goes for like 2hr almost. Its good, quite down to earth. This is part 2: ua-cam.com/video/S7CMdK-O5mA/v-deo.html Nikolic is from 2:36min or so, that's him.
I'm a Serb too. I saw when our Mig-29 got hit (other event). Politics aside, i feel respect for you Sir. Once again, great interview Mike! It would be great if you could make interview with some of our pilots. Greets ppl.
Try to get hold of Suad Hamzic, he flew during Yugoslav times both western and eastern planes. Or Dani Zoltan who shot down F117(Not a pilot but an interesting storey non the less) Could need a translator though.
Brilliant one again Mike really enjoyed that one . I bet you found it hard not to ask any questions that he couldn't answer about the F22 . You can tell that the F22 really is as good as they say it is by the way his eye's lite up when he was talking about how good it was dog fighting and how easy it was to kill everything.
I know they would probably be hard people to track down and probably a shot in the dark to get them to interview, but on the dark grey side (F-15E) of the coin, it would be awesome if you could either get (Then) Major Chris Short or Capt Kirk Rieckhoff (or both) to agree to an interview. Both of those guys were part of the two ship that was in the air the night Operation Anaconda kicked off. Both later received Silver Stars as well as their backseater counterparts. Would love to hear detailed stories from either of them on their time with the eagle and their combat missions during OEF. Major short was also a prior A-10 guy. I believe Capt Rieckhoff left the service some time ago, I know Major Short went on to make Brig Gen. Not sure if he is still in or has retired. Just to throw an idea or two out there for some people that may have some interesting stories to tell.
It's too bad he got out. There should be a place for guys like him in the air force. P51 is my favorite for that era, but the F22 is my top choice now. Can't afford either one. LOL
I've often believed they never bought enough of the F-22s. As i understand it now, they couldn't restart the line of F-22s if they wanted to. Big mistake.
Problem with the 22 is that they really were a ahead of the curve and too expensive because of that. The F-35 is the solution: it's cheap (relatively) and gives the capacity for 4 planes to wipe out an entire enemy airforce without ever showing up on radar. It's all in the sensors, stealth and datalink.
It's not like the US doesn't have a lot of F-22's, it's just that the US military needed more because it's mission is global! The US Air Force has more F-22's than the UK has Typhoons! But all that doesn't matter now because the US is now getting the F-35 which is just as awesome as the F-22. But instead of only having 190 of them, the US will end up having 2,400 F-35's! That's more than double the total amount of aircraft Russia has in it's entire air force and that's from fighters to transport to trainer aircraft lol.
Another excellent interview! Would you be able to get Cesar Rodriguez sometime on the show? The pilot he mentioned that has 3 air to air kills in the F-15C?
So bad ass interview! I have now more respect to the Raptor than ever before. Please please... do another one with the F-16 crew. I love to hear about the Viper so much. Tim Jones was great but please do another one on Viperrrrrrr :)
Great interview thanks Mike! Awesome stories from "Dozer" real smart switched on pilot, talks at such high speed I'd never want to see him on 4+ cups of coffee! I'm from Suffolk and used to go and watch the F-15's doing touch and go's around the time he was at Lakenheath so may have seen him doing circuits or coming back from exercises. I saw an F-117A land at the opposite end of the runway once and taxi in quickly and quietly :)

Great interview, I particularly liked his account of the engagement over Belgrade. I’d read about it before, but his re-telling really brought out his experience of the “fog of war” and the challenge of generating enough situational awareness to execute your tactics. If possible Mike, I’d like to suggest that you publish the names & backgrounds of people you are planning to interview. That way subscribers can send in questions that they’ve always wanted answered. I’ve worked with the F15C community over Iraq and at Red/Maple Flag and would have asked Mike about the culture in the “C-Model” community. It has the reputation for being a “hard school”. A Viper driver said to to me “Yeah, those guys eat their young...” Perhaps you could link it to your paying subscriptions and make it a way of encouraging people to join. What do you think?
Thanks Nick. We do publish upcoming interviews in the “Community” tab you will see on the channel, the Facebook Page/group ,Twitter and Patreon. Also our Fox 2 and Fox 3 tiers on Patreon can post questions for each interview and we pick around 2-4 questions (depending on how detailed they are) that make it into the interviews and you can have your name shouted out if wanted.
In simplest terms the 15 was a modernized 4th gen and the 14 was an older awesome 4th gen. The 15 had newer stuff basically. The proposed Super Tomcat would have gave the 15 a run for it's money
The joint foreign intelligence asset network helping Serbia had spotters near Aviano AB in Italy. That night, they noticed that none of the normal EA-6B EW support aircraft had taken off, and this information was reported to the Serbs, who then knew they could be more aggressive with their search and track radars. The Clinton WH also restricted US forces to a very narrow, predictable corridor for the strike packages to fly through, which was repeated each night. After the F-117s had flown over the particular S-125 site and headed to the target area, a brief glimpse of something gave a radar return, which was allegedly the weapons bay doors, which then disappeared. Dani knew then they were dealing with some type of stealth, and he instructed the radar crews to violate their orders and scan in a lower frequency range. As the strikers turned around and egressed along the same stupid corridor, Dani had his men scan that area in the sky. It wasn't until 13km (7nm) that they got a good return and weapons solution, at which time they salvo-fired 2 missiles. Major Zelko saw the missiles, the first detonation not affecting him much, but the 2nd one was close enough when it proximity-detonated and blew off a wing, forcing him to eject. Since the F-117A didn't have radar warning receivers and countermeasures, it was vulnerable when subjected to repetitive flight profiles. Had that been an F-22A or especially an F-35, it would be a different story. You don't want to be the crew of an S-400 or Pantsir-S1, let alone S-125 with JSF in theater.
Thanks Sir for keeping us safe for all those hard working years!! But God we need you to kick butt as a US Senator even more!! Eglin tower atc'er 05-07

Audio quality is aweful :/ I'm not native English speaker so it's it's really really hard for me to understand it well, please now that you have a sponsor, invest some money for a clean audio, it is way way more important than the video.
The thing with Skype interviews is it’s hard for me to tell the guest to buy a good mic for the interview (even tho I suggest even inbuilt earphone mics as the audio is decent enough on that)
Aircrew Interview I understand, maybe using something else than Skype could help a little bit already, Skype is not known for it's good audio. (Google's Hangout or any equivalent may be worth a try)

LOL
Around 21:00 is the combat account for the MiG.
Edit: although, thoroughly recommend watching it all, excellent account as always. : )
Cheers Ben :)
22:20 - AIM7 warhead is around 40kg, where the AIM120 is around 22kg. Surprising difference.
Ben SMITH because AIM-120 is much more precise and frags in warhead are better prepered.
I got to play CRUD at the Tyndall officers club with my uncle SOUP ! one of the best memories in my life!
Thank you for your service Dozer!
Cheers. It’s a possibility I suppose.
@@Aircrewinterview I would pay anything to watch that
Really enjoyed this. Many thanks gents.
Awesome interview. Interesting to hear how Fubar the whole AWACS/Radar/IFF stuff was.
So bad ass interview! I have now more respect to the Raptor than ever before.
Please please... do another one with the F-16 crew. I love to hear about the Viper so much. Tim Jones was great but please do another one on Viperrrrrrr :)
Thanks! I am hoping to get a Denmark Viper pilot sometime this year.
Good video guys,thanks
Cheers Simon.
Simmo Real fast talker indeed.
A lot of people love fishing and Hunting it's the best you never get sick of it Canada East Coast West Coast my cousins from New York and Canada Ottawa and Toronto best hunting experience ever and Aviation no one will ever get sick of it from R.S.A.F
Nice, Love this! 🇺🇸🦅
👍 Great interview!
Thanks Marc!
Wow! An incredible life.
Loved his "war" stories
Ret USAF First Sergeant

@@Aircrewinterview Thanks Mike, you're on it! I'll have a look to try to avoid any repetition of such suggestions... 🙈🐴
Excellent interview / story
Cheers.
I’m waiting for the interview with Rico Rodriguez.
Great video.
I wonder if Mike's neck ever gets sore from nodding for an hour.
other than swept wings and duel cockpits for the F 14 what are the major differences between it and the F 15....thanks
In simplest terms the 15 was a modernized 4th gen and the 14 was an older awesome 4th gen. The 15 had newer stuff basically. The proposed Super Tomcat would have gave the 15 a run for it's money
Weren't the Serbs the ones that took down a F117 when they got it on their radar when it opened the weapons bay. Someone correct me I'm wrong
Swaglife 81 correct
Swaglife 81 >> Yeah, that’s right...it wasn’t the only problem; they flew the same exact route 4 days in a row I believe.
You don't want to be the crew of an S-400 or Pantsir-S1, let alone S-125 with JSF in theater.
accelerating in a climb "combat loaded". F22 is insane
Be pretty cool to always ask how they got their call sign
Dozer, sounds like you hate being in political power which is exactly why we need people like you there.
Any chance of getting an interview with Ralph Sheik Aarts, the ex Dutch F16 demo pilot?
It’s always a possibility that’s for sure.
When you fly the F-15 you are flying the Rolls-Royce of fighter planes.
His call sign should've been "Motor Mouth". :-)
Has anyone asked Dozer to make a manus for a new Hollywood blockbuster with his combats in Serbia as the pinnacle of the movie
Instead of Iron Eagle
I still think the YF23 should of been put in service in limited numbers, it was stealthier than the F22
But...it was a whole 15 years before the Raptor was ready for frontline service after the YF22 flew at Edward's against the YF23
Thanks Sir for keeping us safe for all those hard working years!! But God we need you to kick butt as a US Senator even more!! Eglin tower atc'er 05-07
I dint' know that serbia is atack us??? When???
Dozer, hey.... was #86-0156 the bird you flew over Yugoslavia back in the day shooting down MiGs? Here it is on RIAT 2017 with me standing next to it and these green stars says it has a memorable past..

When you meet someone that talks that fast, it always makes me think Wow! that brain is way ahead of the lips which are a comm. impediment. I'm a pilot but NOT like this guy....Fun, fast, sharp, witty, clever and an American fighter pilot...thank God.
(Google's Hangout or any equivalent may be worth a try)
sccypc I have been thinking of using hangouts for the next Skype Interview on the 14th.
Must be nice to just be hanging around flying bush planes
Now Dozer has to deal with political psychopaths. Ouch. Horrible and impossible job.
burtlangoustine1 >> Very true I wish him luck tho.
You should have asked him what it's like working for the Devil.
Rafael Lastra com You’re his employer?
You mean the devil that allows you the freedom to make a fake ID and post ignorant comments without fear of reprisal?
Rafael Lastra com Shut up troll. If it weren’t for the USA you would not even be able to post your comment here on YT. You probably believe all the Russian propaganda that is so ridiculous that only a person with gullibility issues would fall for it.
Cracking interview, one of the best yet !
