in the first 30 seconds I mentioned the Galaxy Y was released in 2015, it was actually released in 2011 my bad! What is the next throwback phone I should take a look at?? Thanks for watching guys!
If you’re interested in the rom from Gingerbread to 4.1.1 this is the guide I followed:

it was released in 2011 with android 2.3.6( i mean imagine putting android 2.3.6 on a new 2015 phone). another thing, this phone has a arm v6 processor which was common on budget phones in 2010(?)-2012

The Galaxy Y is my introduction to Android and Android Development as a whole. My uncle was about to throw one away back in 2012 when I was 15, so I asked him for it. Lots of great memories with this phone. In the Philippines and India, the rom development for this device was really active to as far as 2015-2016. I still have mine somewhere. Probably still works with the battery replaced.

Yeah but I'm not sure the rom developers are from india, mostly I found custom roms on this mobile which is really amazing, I had this phone and I used to experiment with lots of rom.. This mobile is really helpful for developers.. I used to have this at the same year like 2015 to '17

Interesting, this ROM looks like it's still Android Gingerbread but with appearence tweaks to make it look like Holo!
The actual lockscreen can be seen at 12:00, the old network and SIM icons are still in the status bar, and the uninstall dialog at 4:17 is the one from Gingerbread

Love the nostalgia run! ANDROID 4 (Jellybean/KitKat) was indeed one of the best and most stable versions. Miss when Android maximized versions before upgrading, unlike now, every year, a new version arises. Pocket Tanks, favourite childhood game!
Can you do Blackberry phones too?

Remember my father having a galaxy young back in 2011. I got my ass whipped for suddenly installing something that changed the look of the phone entirely. That was before I knew homescreen launchers was a thing😅

I literally cried during this video, because it's the phone I grew up with, I remember upgrading Android from 1.6 to 2.3.6 Gingerbread, thinking it's revolutionary and a huge technological feat, I used to play Pou, Jetpack Joyride, and a few 3D racing games(I don't remember what it is but it's space themed and low res) in it, even the music player has a wide surround and an "externalization" option for its EQ, and I can't stress enough how nostalgic it is, so thank you so much for bringing nostalgia to me my man, you're amazing! I'm currently watching from a Redmi Note 11

I had a Galaxy Ace at the time, it was a bigger Galaxy Y basically. Awesome phone, it was my very first android device, used to spend hour at Facebook talking to people, playing games, taking photos, all on that crap internal storage. Had a 512 MB SD card and that wass hell of a storage hahahah

Lol I still have one of these, and I'm using it as a second SIM cardholder, now I'm going to install custom ROM because it looks really cool.

This was my first Android phone ever. After I managed to get it stuck in a bootloop I figured out how to recover it by flashing a stock rom with Odin. After that I discovered custom roms, and I never had a rom installed for more than a week before being replaced by another. Now I'm using a Pixel 7 after using iPhones for a few years, And I have to say that Android has come a long way since back then. Installing a custom rom isn´t that interesting anymore (at least for me), as most features are already in the stock rom.
