I was randomly searching for a new channel to watch and came across yours and I’m glad I did. You make some great content. I plan on watching more after this video. It’s always good to see more retro video game enthusiasts. Take care
I agree with most of these choices. Gilligan's Island as a franchise is so incompatible with video games that it's hard to think of a scenario that would actually work... and this one certainly doesn't. By the time I was finished with my rental, *I* wanted to hit Gilligan with my hat. I wanted to BUY a hat just so I could hit Gilligan with it.
It’s so odd that they decided to make a game based on it in the first place, and making Gilligan a literal anchor definitely didn’t help give it points in the end.
@@SleepyheadDree Human Entertainment did get one thing right... after a couple of hours, you start to develop the same exasperated frustration with Gilligan that the Skipper does. (Why did he hire this guy in the first place?)
@@SleepyheadDree Funny thing is, I replayed this all the way through a month ago. With current tech, I would love to see a remake of this game.......or maybe as a Dark Souls mod. 🤔
Friday the 13th wasn't killed by the live service model, there was actually a major lawsuit between a bunch of people who claimed to own the rights to the character and franchise. The guy who wrote the first screenplay eventually won the rights, and he wasn't the one that set up any of the deals that caused the game to be created. During the lawsuit Gun wasn't allowed to do any work on the game as far as adding new content. It's a rare case where the live service stuff didn't kill it (actually that was pretty well received), but actually some other behind the scenes nonsense nobody could have ever done anything about. This list is awesome though. I liked Friday the 13th, but some of the others. That x-men game in particular was one of my first gaming regrets. And then I bought Arcade's Revenge and flat out gave up on x-men on Nintendo.
That’s a wild backstory, and I vaguely remember hearing about it mid court process. Such a shame about the game, it was janky but fun and janky. Thank you for watching!
You want to see something LJN really messed up for everyone, check out Werewolf: The Last Warrior... All you have to do is watch a playthrough, and you realize it was supposed to be a Wolverine game. Some of the common enemies are Hellfire Club mercenaries and the Brood, you fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants as stage bosses, and the final boss is freaking Magneto, just all with their names changed, fighting a werewolf. This game was beautiful. But apparently LJN got the contract for Wolverine, so they had to change things up for this game. Watch Werewolf: The Last Warrior, then watch the LJN Wolverine game, and you'll likely be as ticked as I am.
Great vid, can’t wait for your channel to hit it big!! I only have a few suggestions: with the random gameplay snippets, name the game you’re showing with a small title text at the top of the screen, since so many of them look interesting but I have no idea what any of them are called (eg at the beginning before the list countdown starts). Then, list a timestamp of each of the 10 main game names in a list in the description or top comment. Lastly: Action 52 is cheating. 😂 Any “worst game” appearing on it shouldn’t count since they’re all so bad!
Super Mario Bros. 2 had a slot machine at the end of each level that you could use the coins you got in subspace to try to get new lives. Keep in mind that this was the Super Mario Bros. 2 that we got in the States - AKA Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic - not the super hard Lost Levels.
It's one thing to hear about these games from a video, but when you try them yourselves, ohooooboyyyy Love your soothing voice, thank you for the video, subbed!
Nerd always warned us about Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde… IT’S AWFUL
Friday the 13th would probably be good if it was on the SNES.

Thank you for watching! Really appreciate another retro channel
Who was the Gilligan's Island game even aimed at? How many kids in the early nineties even knew what Gilligan's Island WAS?

Dark Souls: Prepare to die!
Deadly Towers: That's cute. Hold my beer stein.
Deadly Towers walked so Dark Souls could curb stomp you. 😂

As a kid who grew up loving Where's Waldo, I was gifted this game & it was soul crushing how bad it was 😂

My man said outlaw mud show😂😂
It amazes me how much gambling appeared in older video games.
It’s always around in one way or another 🥲

Thank you so much, really appreciate that!
I enjoy Muscle on NES. They look like South Park characters. Didn’t know it was based on an anime.
The Kinnekuman anime (Ultimate Muscle) is awesome, def check out if you’re interested.
I think I’m the only one who was thrilled with X-Men on NES when it came out. I played exclusively as the long-range characters.
It's so bad though......my go to answer for worst comic book game 😂
AVGN inspired list, would like to see more of a personal one
I played Gilligan's Island! EFFFFIN HORRIBLE!!
For real, who was it even for? All the gilligans islands fans weren’t playing video games haha
I played shareware cds that had a better collection of games than Action 52 - and cost a helluva lot less.
I still feel Friday the 13th is not as bad as most people think.
Friday the 13th is good, if you have the manual, and how many rentals included that.
Home Alone is worse than any of these games listed. And Where’s Waldo is a turd biscuit.
2:18 I heard that ! Hahaha
Don’t try to copy AVGN. Friday the 13th is awesome if you would just turn your brain on while playing
Agreed.
Dude I absolutely love your videos
Thank you! Really appreciate it!
Sleepy head dree all the way
