Yes, that is Jirou Tomitake. The reason he is in it is obvious.
Though he is not shown in Umineko, 7th Expansion did make Higurashi, as well. Seems they decided to add him to the Umineko fighting game, possibly for laughs. I mean, taking pictures of Jessica singing.
Besides, a character of Higurashi is referenced in Umineko.

I have to admit, I played Cross now and he has some wicked quick fighting styles... his style is similar to Battler, but I still think Battler is better over all. XD

Actually, I take back the useless thoughts of George's SP2. It is quite epic. Look for a combo video and you'll see it in action where it is truly useful, like B.Battler's SP2. xO
Also, the hyooge library place looks kickass.
Battler's OBJECTIONS are so powerful they let him shoot laser beams.
(Is it possible to get an english translation of this game? If so, where? I just finished the last episode of umineko and I fucking love fighting games so I want this.)
(Also: Lucifer's meta super uses the stake bounce and impact sounds from the original vn. I am pleased by this.)
I doubt an English version exists but I think there exist patches out there. The interface shouldn't pose much of a problem though, especially since the main menus are in English (I don't know whether this is due to one of the settings that I could've forgotten about). At the very most, you'd only have trouble with the config as that is in Japanese.

That patch is to update the game to Cross, not an English patch. You should still be able to follow the interface though, since it's mainly in English.

I've found an english translation for the original version (not Ougon Cross :c ), though. Any idea where I could find a download for that? (Sorry for bothering you!)
Well, then you should also like one of Lambda's moves. The one where she fires a pumpkin that explodes and then you hear that laugh from the VNs. :D
@sonofrose In addition to putting the enemy on waiting state, it allows you to continue a combo - even after launching the enemy into the sky.

you do the meta super really slow, after you enter metaworld while the person is doing that shiny thing, just run ur fingers from left to right and back eg. right down left down right then press C. its easy once you get the hang of it:P i learned how to do it in 5 minutes :D

About George's SP2:
George dashes forward, faking out the opponent with a feint kick if the dash connects. Does 0 damage but gives frame advantage.
If you are being pressured or at a standstill, sitting and staring at your opponent or whatever, use it. If it hits, COMBO, if it is blocked, you can't really be punished.
So yeah, one of the so many useless SP2 that the game has. xO
I'm exaggerating when I useless. xD
