Since the past 10 years, Mr. Shail Shrestha, founding member of Digo Bikash Institute, has been actively involved in bicycle activism and urban advocacy. While studying Bachelors level, he learned about the cross relation between media culture and society. He studied about the attachments of people towards the private vehicles and how media plays an important role in inducing that in the mind of the youths. Basically, advertisements create a planned obsession in the mind of people. Considering the simpler way of life, he got attached to the fact that cycle is the better medium of transportation. Also, he found it as the best solution for the bigger problems like environmental pollution, climate change and health problems due to the working lifestyle.
He moved ahead with the thought that he should start riding it first in order to encourage his fellow friends. Later on, he found it worthy enough to initiate a campaign in this field. he gradually grew his career in the development of cities.
