Albert was in parole… already convicted in a murder, so he decided to take the murder charges of Maria’s husband… The daughter knew or have seen the murder , so to save her from police interrogation , Maria planned to keep her daughter showcase as dumb but When the daughter spoke out, it was evident that Maria is going to get arrested , so Albert put on the ring on Maria making the police know about the intention of the murder…. He was actually the Santa Claus for Maria and her daughter for saving them…. It’s Only my theory about the story…🤗

Yes i think Maria has told lies that Annie is mute dumb.This story is from viewpoint of Albert and Maria(Both of whom like watching Pinochhio movie i.e. both are liars and not trustable) So whatever we are told as audience how much is truth and how much lies is uncertain.Both are not faithful in love as one loves his bosses wife and one loves her bfs friend.So even if he gives her the ring there is no certainty Maria will be waiting for Albert.Story is basically about lies and deception.
But how is it possible to show dumb in one day or few hours as the murder was on Christmas Eve.

Throwing of the teddy in the furnace, says it all that the teddy’s job was done… It was Maria who was plotting the whole story… However I agree that to show dumb for one day is quite unrealistic…
It was theft only case about to lodge as per report it was already declared as suicide. It was just albert accepted the theft of wallet and ring. Thats his immediate response to police finding and case stopped on robbery only.

No way, this video is all wrong! By showing purse, Vijay basically took the blame on him of committing the murder alone save Maria in the end. When he gives katrina the ring, he gives it with his palm up, meaning he wanted her to take it and throw it (as he earlier said he would throw it when he moves on). However, katrina wears the ring instead, surprising Vijay, implying she's now in love with him and basically would marry him whenever he's released. This was totally unbelievable to Vijay, so he silently walks and sits there, actually feeling happy since they would be together after his release. This ending is not open ended, simple si story thi.

'Jaane Jaan' and 'Merry Christmas' have almost same plots. But Jaane Jaan seems to be far better than 'Merry Christmas'. Merry Christmas is unnecesserily stretched a lot. The first half is horribly tedious. The content should have been wounded up in just an hour or a bit more but has been elongeted up to two and half hours.

Everything is well and good but the only thing that doesn’t add up is the last scene where Maria accepts Albert’s proposal, instead of simply acting to take back a stolen ring.
Okay it’s my theory, sweet short and simple .. everything was planned including cops including Albert’s uncle let’s divide into A and B .. so A is Albert and B all characters who wanted to help Maria aka Rosy .. so this whole B team stood up and A for Albert was just a DUMY (As they found out he was a murderer already) and they all played with him again,Albert realized at end so he gave up everything including ring 🖤

Why would the kid saying that Vijay gave her the toy implicate him? As per their police statement, Vijay had met Kat & her kid at the church and then they all drove to Kat's home too. So he can say he had given the toy to the kid during any of that time. How does that make him look guilty?
Also, why would Kat wear the ring Vijay was offering? That would make HER look like an accomplish; that both of them were lovers and did the murder together.
Ending doesn't track.
1) Since Annie can now speak, she could unintentionally implicate Albert (if interrogated further) that she got the toy before Ronnie witnessed the dead body. Confessing (by admission) to the crime and presenting a motive as well, distracts the police and ensures they won't interrogate Annie any further.
2) Maria would not look like an accomplice since Ronnie's testimony would exonerate her role in it. In addition, Albert could further confess that it was a one-sided obsessive love or attraction. The police would not have much of an issue buying that narrative since he already served for killing his girlfriend. But I agree, she shouldn't have accepted the ring in front of the cops.

Only way Annie getting her voice back will be problematic is if she's a blabbermouth and tells the cop that Vijay came back after Maria went to church to find watch. But that's a low chance. They could've waited to see if Annie blurts it out and THEN Vijay could've "confessed". I don't think "Annie getting her voice back" incident by itself was huge enough to trigger that.
It was shown like he stole wallet and ring both at the time when all 3 suspects came to home. While handing over he gave police wallet and ring to Kat. It shows he stole wallet and ring from her home. Per the report ot was already declared as suicide.

Albert had only two choices
1) to confront everything and send Maria to jail and earn a few months or years of jail for himself as well as he tried to suppress the truth.
2)Just take all the blame upon himself.
Now that Annie can speak, she would definitely testify to everything how they first met Albert in a bar, and then in the theatre. Then she fell asleep, next time when she woke up, she found herself in their apartment. Then they were going to the church, they again encountered Albert on their way and even at the church as well. Albert along with the other guy came back to their home. On her way back home she again fell asleep. And when she woke up inside her apartment, she was afraid (she might have seen gerome's dead body), and she was hiding. By that time she again saw Albert inside her room, who even narrated her a nice story.
If Albert tells the actual truth, then he may not be sentenced for imprisonment for a very long time, but surely Maria would be sent off to jail with heavy charges. In this process, Anie will have to pay the price and her whole life will get ruined.
That's why Albert took all the blame upon himself. Now Maria can defend herself by saying, she met Albert in the bar, then in the theatre, then she came alone with her daughter to their apartment (as the girl was sleeping by that time, she can't tell whether Albert came with them or not). Then she thought, as it was a Christmas night, she should at least visit the church with her daughter. On her way she didn't notice whether Albert was there or not having tea. She just saw two or three police officers, who arranged a cab for them. At the church when she wasn't feeling well, and the other guy brought her out of the church, by that time she discovered that he was there. When they drove back to the house (In this way he must have known her address) and then she discovered that she had lost her watch, they went back to the church and then they dropped Albert and then she went to the party with the other guy. When they returned they found her husband dead. She can turn all blame upon Albert's shoulder, by saying that Albert must have been following her all along, from the bar. And she didn't want to tell the bar meeting and the theatre meeting just because she didn't know he could have done such a terrifying murder. Besides the other guy also got fooled by his innocence. He also told her not to mention anything about Albert initially. But now when they have found the money bag with him and the ring also, he must be the culprit.

@@mrsecret4567 The girl wasn't acting. As her mother narrated, her father misbehaved with her in her childhood. Due to that incident, she became afraid and got traumatized, and she lost her ability to speak.
Do you remember when Albert told her the story of "a fish and her mother" related to magic and all, he actually wanted to motivate her so that she comes out of her fear. And finally when the police inspector was saying something to her, at then end, she could relate his words with Albert's story. Suddenly, her vocal chords started funcioning, she came out of her trauma and started speaking. Everyone was so happy.

Though the ring doesn't actually belong to Maria, it was Albert's ring who bought it with so much love for his first love.But Police had no idea regarding that. Since Albert and Maria had no other option, they had to act like Albert was a thief (the reason I have already mentioned in my original comment). So, Albert suddenly cracked that plan. He said that he had stolen the money bag. To make the whole incident more convincing as a 'thieft' incident, he added that 'ring stealing' part. He lied to the police by saying it was Maria's ring and now he is just teruning it. In this way, he could indirectly propose to her as well. She also started loving him. That's why she accepted it. Otherwise, she would have just taken it from his hand and wear it by herself.

Police won't believe that Gilbert was in love with maria, because he just released from jail a day ago... So it will be the case of theft not murder... This is my theory as i understand the movie.... Ifthe director makes a sequel of this movie, that would be interesting to see more interrogation and more twists as we still didn't know if Gilbert killed his gf because he can take all the charges just for a little girl so how can he be like that person.... My point of is that Maria killed her husband because he suspected that their daughter, Annie, was not his biological child and because he had abused her on one or two occasions, which caused trauma for Annie. However, Albert, who cared for Annie, believed that she should be with her mother and have a good life. He didn't want Annie to face a police investigation or find herself in a situation similar to what she had experienced before. That's why he sacrificed his freedom, and the reason he got involved with Maria is that he fell in love with Maria and forgot about Rosy and gave the ring to her (Indirectly saying that I ll be back soon).
