Really sorry about his unfortunate accident. I saw this plane at sun n fun and it was the nicest example of an rv-10 I have seen. Amazing everyone walked away from the accident, speaks to the rv’s abilities in slow flight. Not many 200mph planes can go slow enough to land off field without killing a few people.
The story I was told was that the rudder is unpainted because it's a new rudder. The original rudder, which was painted and looked just as good as the rest of the plane, was damaged when a couple people exited the plane at the same time while two others were in the back (so very rear CG) causing the tail to smack the ground. Unfortunate accident, but these things happen. As you can see it's already fixed. Evok3 will paint it and all will be good to go, you'll never know it was an issue.
If you leave your tail tie down installed, that will help protect your rudder. Also with a composite prop, a/c in the tailcone, low fuel, you'll exceed your aft CG limit very easily. The back seats are for mid-sized children, if you pack the baggage compartment to 100 lbs on a no a/c RV-10.

Nice piloting skills
@@icantfly yes that too and a bit of luck.
@@clarkharms better to be lucky than good!!!
What an absolutely gorgeous build. Sorry to hear he had problems.
Hopefully I can duplicate as great a job.
He did a nice job on this
beautiful Plane friend
Paint job was nicer than on most cars
Beautiful
👍👍👍
I see you moved the throttle from the front to the middle nice!
🤣
That makes it so much cheaper and easier to access the tunnel.😂
Looking at pictures of the accident, the damage looks repairable. Hopefully she will fly again.
They posted on FB that they would repair
Did they say what caused the crash?
I saw an article said engine trouble. But not much details
Builder assist? Is that where they build and you pay? 2000 hours to build,😉 very optimistic with all that gear.
He did a good job the plane was impeccable
I heard he had an engine failure on Friday
Yeah you stop in every once in a while to watch them build it & hand them the tools. Pay 440K then your listed as the builder with the FAA.
Took me nearly 3000 hours to build an RV7A which is half the work of the 10, 2000 hours is quite fast for a 10.
I built a Sling Tsi at a builder assist. I was there five days a week start to finish and did 95% of work. Everything except the composite.
He crashed it?
Yeah. He lost power but managed to save it. Google it
this is epic
FREESTYLE!!!
He crashed landed on Friday thats why the video has been getting more views
Beautiful airplane! 175 knots! Wonder what was the total cost?
Not sure. Im sure it wasn't cheap.
@@icantfly good response mate
@@plantpower3048 what did you want him to say
My guess about $435k Build assist is about $350k add Evoke, AC, twin 750XI
440K thus the tail number
Wow!!
👍

I think it looks good like that
@@JasonEllisBuilds Interesting. I didn't realize that can happen with people in the rear seats. Good to know!

Walk around???
👍
This guy just had an engine failure and landed on a road in Beaver Dam, WI. Pretty substantial damage.
😲😲😲😲 r u serious????
150 hrs on a brand new io540, why did the engine fail?
2000 hours and 300K down the drain
👍
