I have a fond MEMORY... Those seats are amazingly LONG on the vintage Kawasaki's, affording two people to comfortably be placed in different positions with one person's feet still firmly on the ground. So stability was never compromised. No tip overs as long as you both move slowly. 😜 Best for laying out across the long comfy seat! Ladies do Love the long seat Kawasakis. And my man being perfect standing height! Yes, very good memories, of those sunny days, in the beautiful, desolate, Black Hills of South Dakota. ❤
Glad I was part in making this event happen. If you know anything about Robbie Cadwallader you know it will be an event not to be missed. I enjoyed meeting and hanging out with Jack (CycleDrag), I'm sure he be be back next year!
Back in 1978 I was in the Army bought a 77 KZ1000 leftover at John Walsh Sales Kanona Ny .Was stationed at APG Maryland would ride home to Ny on weekends . Raced Anybody anytime anywhere! Never lost until I 1980 . Was in Houston Texas and Z1R pulled up next to me next redlight we lined up ! He took me out of the hole and never looked back and I could not catch him !😢😢
Jack, great video! You have come to New England for Rice O Rama. Very similar to this show. September 8th Spencer Fairgrounds, Spencer, MA. Great Japanese motorcycle show and swap meet!
I went to buy that Z1R new back in 1978 but my local Kawasaki dealer wouldn’t let me test ride it. I left went to the Suzuki dealership to test ride my 2nd choice a 1978 GS1000E and they quickly added a license plate and said try it. I bought it. I still always wanted that Z1R but that Suzuki was a great bike. I pulled for Wes Cooley back in those days.
I had a black 1980 Z1R as my first ride when I returned to motorcycling in the 1990s after giving it up in 1970 for a variety of reasons. The previous owner had thought himself to be a mechanic rather than a tech., so I had trouble with it. It was gorgeous. I was never sure what was wrong with it until we pulled the head to but a big bore kit on it. The backside of the valves were rounded and the valve seats were not. Hmmm. Classy bike with sawhorse suspension. I sold it. But, It was a great reintroduction. Now I honed down my preferences to an SV650. I will never give up riding. I'm 77, be 78 in March. Ride Sober and stay alive.
Surprised we didn't see a Suzuki Gs1000S any GS for that matter. Seems like that's all that was missing. Was an absolute fantastic show thanks for sharing! 😎
Hi Jack, first bike was a 76 KZ 400 (bought in Pittsburgh, PA at a Kawasaki dealer on Negley Ave. or Center Ave. in East Liberty). My best friend from Squirrel Hill had a 78-79 Z1R.
From $37K to $65K that's the minimum range of profit return every month I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family. ❤️
Elizabeth Liane has really set standard for others to follow, we love her here in Canada 🇨🇦 as she has been really helpful and changed lots of life's Her name rings a bell; I've encountered it multiple times, usually associated with stories of her trading achievements. She deserves a lot of credit.
YES!! That's actually her name (Elizabeth Liane) so many people have recommended highly about her and I'm just starting with her😊from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
Had the misfortune of dropping a Z1R in 1980 Wasn’t mine cost me 2500 to repair a 4000 bike . Once it was fixed put it in a bike shop to sell and first test drive a car pulled out at intersection and bike was totalled
That is not the original tank on the 78 Z1R. The 78s had the lower profile tank with the gas cap on the right side. The taller 80 model black tanks were able to use the center gas cap.
@@BartholomuPiperDcDonaldlol I’m guessing your not the brightest bulb in the box if you don’t understand what I’m trying to say. It’s a bit elementary so not goin to waste the time 👌🏼 good luck and maybe next time common sense will kick in.
@ 16.00 Ish Amber and Gina, I hope are representative of the ongoing inclusive demographic...I remember when this attire was considered as alluring underwear,. I also love motorbikes...😇
In 1981 I had a Z1-R for a two month Kawasaki demo program. At the time we had three of them unsold. The economy was killing dealers pocket books. Many dealerships across the country folded before things picked up in 89 -90.
Owned two KZ1000 bikes in the 70's , thanks for the upload.

the 78 z1000r was the baddest production bike ever made !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like it when you show us real bikes and not the junk Paul Tuttle builds.
Thailand loves OCC type bikes. They like them even more radical.
Great video but seems like everything was exaggeratedly zoomed in on people’s face and bikes .
