Is Condor's NEW Airbus A330-900neo ECONOMY from Seattle to Frankfurt worth it? | BRUTALLY HONEST

- Condor isn't the most expensive airline to fly on, and in the past, their service was...limited, to say the least. Let's see if things changed with their new brand and fleet of A330neos.

Thank you for taking economy. This is the main reason I am watching your channel.
Unfortunately many other creators lost a sense for reality, not relevant for 90% of travellers.
Unfortunately many UA-camrs make videos for the top 1% of travelers now
It’s very boring to watch, Of course business or first is going to be awesome, what’s the back of the bus like.
wake up babe, simply aviation posted a new video
I fly this route a lot because I live in the US and have friends in Germany, ever since Condor switched to this new plane I don't even bother with Lufthansa anymore.
Reasonably. I mean, in the Premium Eco, Lufthansa still has their benefits. In Eco and Business however, Condor looks much better at the moment!
idk why i really like condor's livery
Because they did a good job. It was "shocking" for some at first but breaking away from the dull Eurowhite of every other cookie-cutter livery was just the ticket. Now everyone knows Condor and I would fly them in a heartbeat since I know they exist!
It’s just good
it reminded me of femboy's socks
It's fun and different. I get excited whenever I see it overhead.
I love it. It’s unique and colorful. It also gets people talking. I guarantee a lot of people only heard about Condor as a result of their color scheme. Good or bad, word of mouth is very important.
Goated livery, I know they're them without my glasses
Using “goated” makes you sound like not only an idiot, but also an asshole
I remember that this livery was unveiled on April's Fool day, and many people (including me), thought it was just a joke.
That’s such a German thing to do lmao
Did you know: some of Condor's Airbus A330neos are initially ordered by AirAsia X and Garuda Indonesia, but they cancel or postpone their orders, so those planes are taken over by Condor (with MSN 1950+) for MSN more than 2000 is ordered by Condor themselves (D-ANRJ with MSN 2033)
Sure? I thought, all of them were ordered initially by AirAsiaX
All Planes have the Number: A330-971N
Besides the A320neo has the number:
A320-241N
love the stripes of it! Makes it look like a cartoon character but an airplane 😂
angry bird? 😂
Love the Alex Praglowski shout out, big fan of him too.
I would love for Condor to start operating long-haul flights from Düsseldorf!
I really hope they'll take over old 4Y/LH routes in Düsseldorf and certainly see potential in them serving long-haul from DUS. Especially DUS-JFK and similar more traditional routes, though they'll serve that one in September/October again.
Nope 👎…they will not
@@digga29048 check on the DUS airport site. They will, although it can't be booked through Condor's sites but like with many of the seasonal long-haul services from Düsseldorf, these flights can only be booked at tour operators and/or in travel packages. Obviously not something a business traveller would want, or in the case of DUS-LRM and such, people wanting to visit their families or go onboard a cruise booked separately.
What I personally hope from the DUS-JFK route is, that Condor will see what potential the route has.
Fantastic video. You bring a real refined and confident side to flight reviews that I can't find a lot of the time. I don't want someone yapping away about a business class seat I'll never sit in, but I also want someone interesting who will tell me what I need to know! Just like my guy Alex. Keep it up!
Nice video. I have been watching you for the last 7 years and I have never seen your video posted 3 minutes ago. Wish you all the best for future years.
I love that you're giving history and fun facts of airlines in your videos
Thank you for the video, i was just watching other videos posted by you and thinking when you will be posting,. I just went on the youtube homepage and saw your video first in the list. Also I love the brutally honest series.
You should try china southern 777
I love this detail description of such historic airlines. It adds extra value to the trip report and is equally informative for fellow avgeek. Simply aviation is truly my go to channel before deciding to buy a plane ticket for any airline to view their product and services. ❤️❤️
Another great trip report David. I love the interior of the aircraft. I also love Condor's livery! 😃
Overall a good flight and service. I would be happy to fly with them.😉
you dont know how long ive waited for this!!!!!!
Awesome video, as always!
Fantastic trip report David!
I am flying condor from Anchorage to frankfurt in july in economy so this is very helpful
We did this plane Frankfurt - Mauritius and back, and Frankfurt - Male and back, and we love it. Love the leg space, 4 k screen, and ambient lighting. For the new trip we will again try to book Condor
As a former Lufthansa employee, it was weird to see the Thomas Cook bankrupcy from inside.
Up here in the nordics the collapse of Thomas Cook was quite a big deal - they were a rather popular leisure travel option. The usual panic set in. But besides the people who had booked right during the collapse not much happened. One year we flew Thomas Cook, and the next we flew SunClass Airlines on the same aircraft and same route as we had on Thomas Cook the year before.
You mentioned 'our' airport SPC with that landing video. Thanks for that. 😊
There is something so magical about that intro!!!!
I have been waiting for this!
Flew lately from YYZ-FRA on their A330neo on Business, which was one of the best flights I ever had. Very comfy and quiet plane, excellent catering and very nice crew. Would always fly with them again.
Great flight. Finally a condor flight after a long time
omgg simply aviation posted get ur popcorn!!
Really like that historical part!
was looking for ports on seats, thanks for the vid!
I Like The Old Condor Livery
This new ‘stripe’ concept is beyond ridiculous. Clowns designed that crap.
Pleasantly surprised by the video. Being based in YYZ, I really don't see them too often as that's a seasonal route for them, but would love to fly aboard Condor one day (along with Lufthansa mainline).
Great video and WOW!! Great airline
Great report!
Thanks for checking - my parents will take the flight to SFO on Saturday
Condor had a huge glow up with these new neos
I flew this same service with Condor on the same aircraft type in Economy from LAX-Frankfurt and actually enjoyed it quite a bit
You should review nok air!
Nice tripreport!
Thank you for this excellent video. Being a budget traveller, Condor is my preferred choice when it comes to flying between Germany and the USA. Their economy light fare never popped up when I searched for flights, so unlike with United and Lufthansa they always included at least one free piece of checked baggage on those routes. With United and Lufthansa, I had to pay for luggage when choosing the cheapest fare. About the food - as an economy passengers you have the option to book a premium economy meal for an additional 20$ (a luxury I tried out last year), but unlike the premium economy passengers you will not have a choice between two meals and receive "what's available".
Wow the night recordings are great. How did you film them? Is it possible to record similar footages with your smartphone?
Im flying on Condor next month!! Can’t wait to try them out
Good to see you are back it seems a long time between drinks
I LikeThe Livery.Great Video And Info
Those economy class IFE's look so good
miat wich was founded in 1918 operates a b757 that can be converted for commercial use
My first transatlantic flight was on a Condor 707 from JFK to FRA in 1978.
Beautiful interior..👍
This is an extensively details review. Exactly how and what an airline review should be. Good job David. Looking forward to more.
Very nice!
4:58 i had that seat on the far left first row last year on my flight from Halifax, NS canada to frankfurt Germany
As a german i can say: very great speak, Voice and pronounciation. Thank you for this Great Video
Their livery cracks me up
But then you are mentally very unstable. LOL
Your video was very good
I flew in Condor Premium Economy and it is well worth the upgrade. There is no priority security but you do get early boarding in group 2 usually.
Condor new livery in yellow colour is looking so fresh and good 👍
Idk how i feel about the outer livery but how they incorporated it into the interior design is flawless and chic. This is what I was expecting with Air Franc's Joon - aesthetic and modern with flexible fares to appeal to younger passengers.
Very nice airplane livery
😊
They also fly to Montego Bay in Jamaica.
Good video , But the chocolate cake is called a brownie 😂
Amazing Airline, flew with them from Frankfurt to Zanzibar ❤
Hello @simply_aviation . Your trip reports are awesome especially the ones with subtitles only. Can you kindly suggest me the best flight to choose as I'm flying for the first time from Pakistan to Chicago. I'm really confused.
I definitely like the new entertainment system! Looks to be really snappy and also modern!
Unlike some older systems that can be slow and look a little bit outdated
They have a FRA PHX route.
So?
13 inch IFE screens in economy that is impressive especially coming from a leisure airline.
Condor is soooo good!
I grew to like Condor over the years as they are THE leisure airline when you fly from Frankfurt (which is my home airport). Discover Airline (Condors step sister company if you will, being a new leisure line founded by Lufthansa) is also quite good here, but I didn't fly with them for about 2 years, so I can't give any new opinions.
I flew Premium Economy to La Romana back in January. It was quite comfy, but it's still a 10 hour flight.
Premium Economy actually gives you a menu option, I remember that much. And it wasn't really that expensiv either, I think 150 Euros per flight (or 300 overall), which was not that bad given that you also have more luggage included.
I personally LOVE that Condor chose darker seats that show more dirt as a direct way of saying "Hey look how clean our aircraft are!"
So do the pillow and headrest covers on all their aircraft match the exterior? Noticed your sand color 330neo had brown headrests and pillow covers. Would they be green on the green aircraft? Pretty nice touch but has to be a pain logistically.
Hi, the match is a nice coincidence. All pillows and the blankets are in sand color on every condor A330NEO (accept in BusinessClass)
Greets from Germany
Great video! To make some argument for the somewhat mediocre meal you have been served, I have recently pre-booked a Red Thai Curry for a return flight with Condor. The curry was the best I have ever eaten in the air given airline meal circumstances but even triumphed many I have eaten on the ground and the price of ~ €10 was amazing. It was a medium haul flight to a European vacation destination so I don’t know whether the option to pre-book meals are available on long haul flights.
I thought KLM Asia didn’t exist anymore and it’s just these liveries that are still in service. I looked it up a few years ago because I spotted these planes quite a lot at Schiphol and wanted to know the story behind it.
Meal still looks better than us carriers
Luk Just watching a random aviation Video and there us random a picture of my hometown in 0:37
nice one
FAQ video would be nice with you, David!
Hi David could you review Ethiopians New route from ATL-ADD
Would you do Toronto to Dublin on WestJet as apparently, they're flying a 737MAX TRANSATLANTIC
Any chance of that David?
Already booked! :) Well not quite Toronto to Dublin, but Dublin to Halifax. Video coming in the second half of this year!
Love Condor! Best German airline!
Hey david or felix you should try salam air! Its a airline in oman🇴🇲
That's a sausage.
When will you fly air India a350?
Just took this flight a couple of days ago. Not great legroom and no individual air vents, but other than that a great flight
No air vents on widebodies is normal…
I am 180cm high and can’t complain; the legroom was great
Seat pitch in standard economy is actually only 30 inches. That's among the worst you can get on any long-haul flight.
The planes are nice, but where the eff are the air vents
Cabin looks very nice and inviting. Free food is limited, but like you said, you can always order from the buy-on-board menu. That said, Lufthansa needs to go back to the drawing board.
I don't really like the livery (besides the more subtle yellow aircraft you flew on), but I really like their overall branding. The stripes are really strong.
This is interesting, I'm considering travelling to Alaska next year and their flight Frankfurt to Anchorage is probably the most convenient way to get there from central Europe. Looks like I'll be able to survive in economy, though I always have trouble sleeping in those seats.
And not including cabin baggage in the cheapest fare is clearly a way to optimize their position on flight planner websites.
I didn't realise Condor (cool name) was established so long ago. I thought they were a new(ish) LCC. Or ar they actually an LCC given they have BC and PE?
Interesting fact: In 2019 LOT Polish Airlines was close to buy Condor but due to COVID broke out transaction was cancelled.
4K screens in economy on every long haul flight, perhaps Taiwan's Starlux should be the first?
3:05 what’s with the main gear cap thingy
There was a maintenance platform, they checked something
❤
Very good flight and airline review. You never disappoint my expectations.
I think it's hilarious that one of your patreon's nicknames is... doorknob ;)
Among the many airlines you have traveled which is your favourite?
This airline has always remained mysterious for some odd reason. But it is a seasonal airline after all.
17:02 that personal item limit is truly heinous. that's an 8l bag, i have totes that are bigger than that. For comparison most ultrabudget airlines in europe (so ryanair, wizz and what not) allow you bags that are around 20-25l in capacity
Stripey plane!
Condor should change its name to Candy if they're going to keep this livery.
A330-900neo is such an upgrade over 767 it's like A321neo vs 737MAX
