I don't know of a single place in the world that charges $10,000, and in fact Australia has one of the most expensive (Darwin Australia charges $4,600). The most expensive I've ever seen are around Tokyo where they charge about $5000-7000 depending on airport.
I'm still wondering why you didn't fly the other way round... I mean, straight to Hawaii islands, to American Samoa, to Fiji, to New Caledonia, then to Australia... That's much shorter than your route... Isn't it? Please can someone explain why?
It is expensive to modify the aircraft with extra fuel tanks. To fly via Hawaii would have needed the extra tanks. Us mainland to Hawaii is over 2100 nm.
Aerodite thank you very much... I understand now... Flying to Alaska, Russia, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia then Australia is also another route without a long flight over ocean... But, From what I read a while ago about international flying, there's a lot of restrictions to landing in Russia, China too got some of that restrictions on general aviation though you necessarily don't have to fly over China to reach Japan... I'm obsessed with the TBM.. it's a great airplane..
Yes why do people go to all the trouble of making a beautiful video and then force us to watch it with the SOUND OFF due to a nauseating constant pounding?
Thanks for bring us along.
Hey there to say your pretty new at this v log doing a great job mate cheers

When are you expected in OPKC? TBM's have been one of my fav S.E. Turboprops would love to drop in for a quick look if possible.
Which countries are the ones with those exorbitant fees?

Any mechanical issues? How many total hours of flying did it require?
Luckily no mechanical issues. It took us about 50 hours but we dragged it out and had a little fun :-)
Was this trip for fun? Because why wouldn’t you head to Alaska-Russia then Japan?
