The biggest canon inconsistency is that Sonic is 16 in Sonic 3. Tails is 8 in Sonic 2. Amy Rose is ....

Don't you know in literally every conceivable timeline sega would never make shadow Canon to the classic timeline and and even if they made him a separate playable character it would automatically be noncanon or an alternate timeline and I don't think that would destroy the community 🤓

A shadow skin really does not "ruin" canon in any way, it's perfectly fine and I'm glad they've decided to allow it.
It's a skin, and just like the other skins (like, for example, the one who turns sonic into a literal rabbit lmfao) it's not Canon. Personally hope we see more, I'd love a Rouge skin for Knuckles, and would love to see Mighty and Ray Skins.
And classic sonic is from another dimension.

At first he was just a younger Sonic still canon to the SA1 timeline. Amy also refered to the Sonic Chaos game.

I think being a skin is the best way to handle it since the skins are most likely non-canon. We already have Lego characters and Amy’s modern outfit so Shadow fits the bill of being just an aesthetic bonus

For Shadow I think they NEED to make a Super Shadow transformation, it'd be so jarring to have him turn into Sonic for the Super form, as well as pure laziness. We haven't gotten to see Shadows fantastic super form in so long, really hope they put the effort in.

Even if it is just a skin, it'd be weird seeing a Modern character in the Classic timeline. It actually messes up the whole timeline.
It doesn’t especially when you realize trip is an entirely new character who was nowhere to be seen in the classic era of games

I don’t think the skins are actually canon. They’re just model swops that Sega included to add a cosmetic system the game. You guys don’t need to worry about Classic Shadow braking the continuity.

I don't think we should worry about narrative in a game like Superstars. First off because in this game in particular the story is a mess. But second, because of the other skins in the game. If we're talking about narrative, where the heck do you put the LEGO skins of the characters in the narrative? Did the LEGOD just magically turn them into LEGO and they must have that form in the entire adventure?
Nah, these skins and the potential Shadow skin (and maybe the Rabbit skin) are just fun non-cannon skins and not much else.

I was hoping they made a Lego trip or the ability to play as the metal versions of the characters in story mode but shadow works too
If there is a story behind the skin, they can easily have that story, and with everybody losing their memories and shadow being sealed back up
I mean. They could make a dimension travel/ time travel story where modern shadow got trapped in the classic universe/timeline and has to find a way to return to his original world with the help of the classic crew.

Oh no not the Sonic canon, makes me feel a little uneasy thinking about... the Sonic canon, which absolutely has continuity already
although I’d be fine with the costume, just existing as a non-canon cosmetic, imagine if they did something like having a unique cut scene. Play if you start a play through with the Shadow costume in which we see a rift open and modern Shadow drops into the game.
(Personally, I’d rather see a modern shadow design. I could easily write a classic shadow design as non-Canon, but just for consistency to make this shadow costume that little bit more unique I think it would be cool if he kept his modern proportions. It would probably also help with the animations if they were literally just ported from his modern appearances.)

Kinda don't want Shadow in Superstars cuz Shadow = classic style = kinda strange imo, even with it being a Sonic skin, its still weird tbh. But whateves if this is the way to continue on the Shadow hypetrain for 2024, then cool i guess. Maybe Superstars might get more sales out of this along with hopefully an announcement of Superstars dlc that will improve the game tho

I think Shadow is just a skin, I don't think they will do much else with him. I'm really happy about the fact that Shadow will be in this game, but yeah of course this is not going to mess with the continuity because of course Sega is not going to just add Shadow to the classic cast.
By the logic of the sonic generations timeline spilt you probably could make it work
They probably gonna save that Shadow skin until the Sonic 3 movie since they need it to promote Shadow's involvement in the movie perhaps.
It's probably going to be a old-timey diner waitress costume for Amy based around IHop. I doubt it will be a modern employee outfit. Speaking of Ihop, spell it out loud :)

I don’t think that these lines of code are actually for Shadow. They’re most likely just scripts for the shadows that come off of character models and/or environments. SEGA has also said themselves that Shadow won’t be in the game.
The end being in superstars doesn't break anything. That's its physical form that it was separated from, and the end was there the entire time.
The end was sealed in Cyber Space millions of years before Frontiers

@@SFproductions1 Gameplay, not ending cinematics. But it's the combined disregard of everyone else on UA-cam who spoiled the ending, from obnoxious thumbnails to stuff like this.

I really don't think this matters as much as people are making it out to be. Things can be simple easter eggs without being some huge lore drop or massive continuity change or whatever.

I disagree with your take on a Shadow skin disruption continuity. That's like saying because we have a Feels the Rabbit skin, that automatically means Feels is now apart of the Canon. It doesn't make sense.
This does nothing to destroy continuity. It's a skin... by your logic the LEGO skins and rabbit skin are canon.
