This 1994 Miss Universe pageant is indelible in my memory seeing it as a teenager in Manila, Philippines and the excitement and joy as Miss India, Sushmita Zen was crowned as Miss Universe that year. Of course I was also delighted at the performance and accomplishment of Miss Philippines Charlene Gonzalez. The beauty, grace and wisdom Sushmita graced this event with are just phenomenal and unforgettable.
Compared to that wicked Miss Colombia bitterness, this runner up is as classy as those Miss Colombia who went second or third placed. They accepted the results with grace and respect to winners and themselves. These three girls are classy when they are cheering each other instead of competing. It's clear that these are winners.
