I loved the simulators from this period - they managed to get the mix right. They were complex enough to be engaging and interesting, without being so complex as to be inaccessible without investing massive amounts of time. I loved this one, and interceptor particularly. I wish someone would make something like this with modern technology, but flight sims are badly unfashionable right now and games like "World or Warplanes" are too "arcadey".
@@buggerlugz6753 You owe it to yourself to check out what microprose are doing right now. If you have even modest gaming PC. Tiny Combat Arena and Carrier Command 2 are great.
I used to play this game to death.....absolutely loved it!.....How about this for a mission, after nailing the primary and secondary targets in central europe map I had to dog fight my way out and shot down at least 6 or 7 fighters. Because of too much dog fighting didn't have enough fuel to make it back to base, so, i had to climb to 60k and glide back to base for unpowered landing.....AND I MADE IT!! lol
This, Flight of the Intruder, and that F-18 game depicting the San Francisco bay area, are my favorite games on the Amiga. ...with the 500k expansion, of course! :)
man...minimal graphics but alot of imagination...still remember the keys....those sims were great...birds of prey, fligth of the intruder, kots ,wings....happy happy times
First game I owned on the Amiga. Despite its low framerate its strategy and simulation was very challenging and entertaining. I wish there was a patch or something to speed it up, the framerate is locked and does not increase even on the 68060. Great game though!
I've got this game for the C64... two 2 sided cassettess, about 30 minutes to load the game... and if something went wrong around the end of loading I became crazy :DDD
I really wish you guys would figure out that you are runnning NTSC games in PAL mode. Switch to NTSC first and you won't have that annoying black area at the bottom with a squished screen and the game will actually run a little faster and smoother.
oh man!!! i was 13 and spent a year just playing this!! i am 42 now! Great memories!
Can't believe the graphics, imagination compensated for so much back then..
Who remembers the keyboard overlay?! Hardcore!
I still have it! Although it is held together by a lot of tape.

I can confirm this. I had to do the exact same thing once, it was awesome.

hitting both primary and secondary targets was a thrill i haven't experienced in any game since...

Spent so many hours on this.

nice video! are there other recommended simulations for amiga? played m1 tank platoon and tornado, TFX back in the days, but diggin up for more here.
Sin duda alguna, el F-22 Retaliator, el simulador de aviones con el scroll más suave jamás visto en una 16 bits.
Silent Service II, Fighter Bomber, F18-Interceptor. Try these, but search for the originals including manual and keyboard overlay. you'll need it.

Did you play this on original hardware or a emulator?
Is this available on Steam yet?
It is now
F-117A stealth fighter 2.0 for Amiga was better. Better graphics, more theaters of operation, took advantage of accelerators. Better all around.
4 FPS on that age, really sucks, but in that years was forgettable, not 4 today games..
Did you know Sid Meier was the creator of this game?
Who could play this, seems like 5 FPS. Sorry, that had to be terrible, I was able to play games only above 20 FPS even in DOS times.
