- So this was literally a dream come true for Steve. Dick Ashby (Manager) very kindly arranged a meeting between us and Barry Gibb at his home in Miami. We stayed for around 45 minutes, chatted about lots of stuff including music, Poppy and Robin's fight against cancer. I've not included all the footage as some of the conversations really were personal and I'll certainly never forget this moment. An absolute dream come true. So grateful xxx
A remarkable event. I am 72 and grew up with the BeeGees. It would truly be the most rewarding thing in my life to meet Barry. I have read of his tragedies he went through and he continued his work through God to ensure Maurice, Robin and Andy will always be remembered. Thank you, Barry for continuing the BeeGee legacy!

I spoke by phone with Barry in March of 2020. You would never know by speaking to him that he has had probably the most successful music artist in history. He obviously never allowed fame to take over who he is as a person.
He, along with Robin & Maurice never let fame make them big headed.

(I think I might have his email address but wonder if that's the best way.) Or do you think sending a note to his Bay Road address is best? I want to respect his wishes.

He'll never see this, but thank you Barry (and of course Rob, Mo and Andy) for the music that helped a troubled young teenager stay sane through very, very hard times.

Barry Gibb is always and forever the best looking man on Earth and a good one. I was lucky that I married a man who looked very much like him and we had an 80s Disco Wedding Reception. Bee Gees' music was on our Wedding songs list, for sure. Thank you for sharing this, and Barry still looks great.

I just want to say that you Sir Barry Gibb are a really special person. I mean to take the time to meet with this family at your own home is just a wonderful thing. I’m sure you absolutely made their day or more like their month. So many many celebrities become so egotistical that they would never do something like that. Just gives me more to admire. You sir are a good person in addition to your immense talent. This world needs more people like you.

The Bee Gees are an amazing group, or where, Barry of course being the last of an amazing family. What has always stricken me is with so much stardom, and the hits, etc. is how level headed and so good these guys are, were. Even in the twilight of his life, Barry carrys himself with dignity. A life well lived, showing in the dignity and bearing that Barry carrys himself.

I love the fact that the Brothers father Hugh was present as stage manager at many if not all their concerts and his wife Linda was always a great presence in his life.
The Brothers learned to deal with fame and popularity with a certain maturity. After their initial fame had taken a toll on the band early in their career and the Bee Gees broke up for 2 years in 1969. Robin left the group first, and after recording Cucumber Castle in 1969 without Robin, Barry and Maurice stopped recording together. Being very young musicians hanging out in London pubs after recording sessions, drinking with the likes of Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Jimi Hendrix, Ringo Starr, and Eric Burdon had gone to their heads. Andy Gibb was not good at handling his own fame unfortunately and his older brothers tried to get him back on track.

I live in Brazil, I discovered Bee Gees in 1972 and I never abandoned them. It would be wonderful one day to meet Barry, absolutely fantastic!
That's great! I always wanted to meet him and thank them all for the music that has lasted me a lifetime. They have always been my favorite. From "Peace Of Mind" to "Blowin' A Fuse." I've never met any of them, and I'm local. I've been driving the streets of Miami for 40 years, driving a bus and now a supervisor patrol car. Many of my coworkers and families have encountered them over the years. No such luck for me. Not even during the countless hours supervising the terminus just one block away from Middle Ear. If Barry ever reads this, Thanks for the music, from the bottom of my heart.
You are a special Man Barry. Wealth and Fame hasn't went to your head like it has to most celebrity's. You talk to these people just like you are an ordinary man and we all know that you will never be an ordinary man. Thank you for being you. Someone we need in this World today. You live your life and treat others as Our Lord Jesus intended you to. No wonder so many people are in awe of you.

This is pretty cool. I was blessed to have seen the Bee Gees 9 times in concert and Barry twice and were able to meet them all a few times in Miami, NY and Vegas. I CANNOT believe that their recording studio - a place where music history was recorded in now an Enterprise Car Rental location.

I grew up in Miami before and after Night Fever . Honoured to see them @ the former Miami Baseball Stadium during the 79-80 tour. Last show of the tour and Andy was the surprise guest star! What can I say? Absolutely incredible!¡! To this date, I have never witnessed any group that topped or even came close to the Bee Gees concert. 👑🎖🎖🎖🇬🇧🇭🇲🇺🇸🎶🕺💃

I think that is what is the essence of the Bee Gees, and makes them and their music so special. They remember the hard times in the early days, it is part of who they are and were as men. I remember when they opened the Bee Gees Way in Redcliffe, Brisbane, Barry had a meet and greet up the mall, it was supposed to take a few minutes and I think it took something like an hour. Barry was just so generous with his time and shook so many peoples hands, he was really touched and was so humble about the whole dedication. He was so proud, he had brought out all his family with him, wife, children, mother and his sister, all there for the opening. When the way was improved and a second statue was added, he came again and this time he had his very best friends, an American couple, with he and his wife. He has said that he has very fond memories of his time with his brothers living at Redcliffe. He seems a really lovely man

I liked your video, very sweet. Not surprised that Barry met you at his home. Now that he doesn't have the studio, he's met a lot of fans at his home. Also, you might not have known this, but when you were driving around & came to the house at 5242 N Bay Rd, that was the first house Robin lived in. Then he moved to live one house away from Barry's house.

I am one of the BIGGEST Bee Gees fan since I was 7 years old. 49 years later and I love these brothers so much. I’d give anything to meet Barry Gibb more than anything in this world. The last time and only time I got to see the brothers perform was in November of 1997 in Las Vegas at the MGM and I practically froze just watching them perform. I know every single song they sang and even sang like them when I was a kid. My son who is 25 lives in Florida and I have asked him if he knew where Barry lives. He does not . Please, if there is any way I could meet Barry, it would be greatly appreciated. God bless.
