The unbelievable part is that the government wouldn’t force the issue.
They don’t need Alex now. All they needed was a DNA sample and a blood sample. DNA to isolate the location of the Titan gene and blood to see if there were any markers or remnants of the activation chemicals used.
Then just dump Alex out the door with some cash and a free house for where he wants to live, maybe a job he would like. Then the government/military just starts from the point of knowing what gene has to be activated and that’s it is possible. If we have FTL then activation of a single gene sequence when you know its location and use should be easy for them at that tech level.
So yeah, Alex is just a proof of concept, a prototype. After all what can he do now? He doesn’t know the chemical cocktail or other methods they used on him and he didn’t know their language either so he is just the result of the process and not the process.
So I’m with you the government doesn’t kowtow to a manual labourer. Also Alex was uneducated and not a soldier at all and he never had the desire to serve and protect and fight at the chance that he would die doing it. So Alex has the perspective of a uneducated guy who was after a quick easy payday accepting a dodgy shady deal with aliens he didn’t know, he doesn’t care about earth’s defence and feels no need to take active responsibility to serve and defend the planet.
So a current real already trained soldier would be a better choice for a Titan soldier, possible just use it to upgrade all special forces teams with the gene.
But yeah this is happening if Alex wants it to or not. Also why not just upgrade every single human and then as new children are born the gene is active in both parents so it should express in there children. Evolution.
Nah, they don't need to force anything. The scientists will study, and the military will weaponize in secret. Secret weapons are always better.
@@danielleriley2796 Not just that - all of which I agree with - but Alex is being blind. Look what the aliens were willing to do, just to keep this information ABOUT humans AWAY FROM humans. They were willing to engage in war, to keep it a secret. And those are aliens with whom the humans were had a cooperative relationship. What others might be out there, what other dangers? Humans would need to up their game, make themselves better able to meet new threats, better able to defend their planet, their very existence.
In a clearly hostile environment, Alex held the key to human survival in his veins.
This was so much better than a so call "AI" reading with error's. Thank you

Humans to these Xylari are like what humans are to monsters in Undertale. Very strong, however, It's not their strength that allows them to be nearly undefeatable, but their determination.
Now I know why this channel is better than other HFY story channels... it's the narration. So many excellent narrators. I'm truly enjoying my vacation with these stories. ^_^
