I can remember being back there in the crowd and seeing this huge box on top of the stage as they started this song. We were all trying to figure out what it would be. And as we are caught up in the song and singing along and the balls began to fall it was truly an incredible feeling. And when they started to light up we all just lost our minds. Probably my favorite moment of any Coachella in 13 years of attending. Thank you so much Arcade Fire. It still gives me all the feels almost ten years later.
Probably the best night of my life. I still have a shrivelled balloon in my heart shaped box . Religious experience for an atheist. Love to everyone who loves live music
I remember my parents sitting me in front of the TV when i was 12 and they put on "Where the Wild Things Are" and them telling me the reason they're making me watch this was because it had really, really resembled me. The soundtrack stuck to me like glue and I remember trying so hard not to cry when I had first heard this song in the movie. Lump in the throat and all, they sat and watched me watch the film. I later got into AF a year later when they had won an award on TV for The Suburbs and I didn't piece the two but I adored the album in grade 6. I rode around my bike in the summer with that shit on blast and just stuck to myself. I hadnt known my anti social days were coming, like any other kid turning into a teenager. I thank Arcade Fire for so many things, helping me get thru with moving out of my moms, being with me thru out my long walks in rain and snow / shine to school. Every album just works so perfectly for each season of the year. I stopped listening to their newer stuff after their 4th one. I can't move on from their older stuff. It's too powerful and brings me down to nearly the ground when i take the time to just sit and reminisce on my rollercoaster of a ride childhood.
Holy shit, my heart. I had been looking for this performance since 2011. I remember that was the best Summer of my life. I got on UA-cam, and this was on the home page being advertised. I clicked on it & my life was forever changed. They are unlike anything else. They pour their heart, blood, and literal sweat to their music. I could have my body tattooed with only their lyrics. I want to cry. I love them so much.
As an old turd now (62) I remember watching a live version years ago and feeling for the first time that, we are going to be okay, the kids, these kids get it. Before that I had worried that we as kindred souls were irrevocably lost, no direction home as Dylan once sang. But nope, listening to these beautiful young spirits sing like birds, well, I remembered how important it is to not just have hope, but to find it in others. Love you guys, so very much. Peace.
There is so much beauty in humanity, but sometimes it’s very hard to see when it’s drowned out by the hate, fear, and greed. I try to stay hopeful but I’m having a really hard time with it right now.
I am hard pressed to think of any song from any band I have seen live that has made me feel more euphoric. Definitely the absolute pinnacle of every Arcade Fire show I have been to and the closest thing to a religious experience I have ever felt.
There’s something about this where I wish I was old enough to know this band existed in 2011, and was able to go to that Coachella, because man… I want to relive this moment in my life
The main perks of Arcade Fire's gigs during 2007 and 2011 were seeing both Marika and Sarah ecstatically hammering their violins...especially during Wake Up and Rebellion.
Mariano Moreno I wholeheartedly agree! See my comment above^ I had been looking for this since they were live. I remember watching the Grammy’s when they won for best album. Everyone asked why them, and I thought to myself “Have you listed to their music?!”
My wife and I went to concerts U2 in Ottawa 2005 and they introduce Arcade Fire... I said to my wife "never heard them". They were better than we thought, big fan of Arcade Fire since. :)
Somethin' filled up My heart with nothin' Someone told me not to cry Now that I'm older My heart's colder And I can see that it's a lie Children, wake up Hold your mistake up Before they turn the summer into dust If the children don't grow up Our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up We're just a million little god's causin' rain storms Turnin' every good thing to rust I guess we'll just have to adjust With my lightnin' bolts a-glowin I can see where I am goin' to be When the reaper he reaches and touches my hand With my lightnin' bolts a-glowin' I can see where I am goin' With my lightnin' bolts a-glowin' I can see where I am go, goin' You better look out below
I still remember how it feels listening to this song live. Empowering, emotional, alive. I'll never forget those feelings and I hope to see them again in the future !
I heard about Arcade Fire before but I wasn't interested, but when I got the chance to see Walter Mitty, and heard this song I was like, I was stupid for not liking this band. This song is everything.
I had tickets to Coachella this year (my first) but always always wanted to experience this kind of Coachella. Back when it was about bands, great bands.
People who have never played on stage in front of people will never realize that the band on stage is in the audience also. Sure, if they stop the music stops but once it gets going the song is a separate thing and you are just along for the ride, listening and watching just like the people who are not on stage. 2:30 does she look like she is looking down from the almighty stage, no, she's part of everyone experiencing what is going on, and it takes the crowd as much as the band.
My cousin was there and he actually has one of those balls that fell around the 2:20 mark. It’s all deflated now but it had a mic and a RGB light so it flashed to sound/music. He had it hung up right behind his tv
The Coachella 2011 set is Arcade Fire's greatest hour, and I'd be surprised if they EVER top it. There should be videos up on other channels. Look it up, you won't regret it.
Met my ex at Coachella, dances the night away to this song acid and all. Best set her and I were able to dance and jam the night away. I still get goosebumps
Had no idea who this band was but luckily the Dolab was near the mainstage back then and was able to catch this epic scene. Fast forward, now they’re my favorite band.
El 13 de diciembre del 2017 será una fecha inolvidable, cuando cantaron esa canción en Lima, Perú!!!! Bendiciones para todos en está época que no ha tocado vivir por este virus.

Wow❤
Me too :) I was right in the middle of that, and damn. One of the most magical concert moments ever!
You are so lucky.
I wish I was there ☹️😢☹️😢
came here to remember it as i watch their 2022 coachella performance
I was there and it was incredible ❤
Hearing everyone sing the beginning "Oh oh"s almost made me cry. I miss concerts man.
Still the best Coachella moment of my life. I still have the glowing ball we saved!
Probably the best night of my life. I still have a shrivelled balloon in my heart shaped box . Religious experience for an atheist. Love to everyone who loves live music
My mom saw Prince in the late 80s and she said something similar about Purple Rain ☔️
*This song was one of those ones I'm glad exist ...during those dark moments in my life*
This song is really important, and it breaks my heart
I just learned the meaning yesterday :'(
I remember my parents sitting me in front of the TV when i was 12 and they put on "Where the Wild Things Are" and them telling me the reason they're making me watch this was because it had really, really resembled me. Awww you should really check out their song, Unconditional I (Look Out Kid). It's a wholesome good song.
if i had a time machine, this is exactly where i’d wanna be
The crowd was really lame (95% of the crowd was recording themselves just for social media clout) but it was a fucking great performance..
We're just a million little gods causing rainstorms
Turning everything good to rust
Those lines hold the emotional peak of the song.
Holy shit, my heart. I had been looking for this performance since 2011.

i have a tattoo that says “ hold your mistake up” from this song 💛
How do they not cry every time they play this? It still hits the same for me since the first time I heard it when I was 11
Funeral - Neon Bible - Suburbs is one of the greatest album runs of all time.

anicasio verduzco Haven’t heard enough National. Need to listen more

Sometimes hope is tough. Always try to find it. I have to make an effort sometimes too. I guess we all do.
9 years later, tears and chills all over again.
"Someone told me not yo cry" And look at us, crying... But crying of hapiness :') what a beautiful performance!
i don’t know how any song could ever top this one
I am hard pressed to think of any song from any band I have seen live that has made me feel more euphoric. Definitely the absolute pinnacle of every Arcade Fire show I have been to and the closest thing to a religious experience I have ever felt.
My favourite song of all time. So much emotion in one piece of music.
Thank you Arcade Fire

Being an AF fan since 2005, I think this show was an absolute highlight in the band's career. I never enjoyed a show like this so much.
Mariano Moreno I wholeheartedly agree! See my comment above^

I’ve been a fan for that long! Discovered them on MySpace forever ago and have been hooked!!
My wife and I went to concerts U2 in Ottawa 2005 and they introduce Arcade Fire... I said to my wife "never heard them". They were better than we thought, big fan of Arcade Fire since. :)
Somethin' filled up
My heart with nothin'
Someone told me not to cry
Now that I'm older
My heart's colder
And I can see that it's a lie
Children, wake up
Hold your mistake up
Before they turn the summer into dust
If the children don't grow up
Our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up
We're just a million little god's causin' rain storms
Turnin' every good thing to rust
I guess we'll just have to adjust
With my lightnin' bolts a-glowin
I can see where I am goin' to be
When the reaper he reaches and touches my hand
With my lightnin' bolts a-glowin'
I can see where I am goin'
With my lightnin' bolts a-glowin'
I can see where I am go, goin'

PizzaBoys :D!!
I had tickets to Coachella this year (my first) but always always wanted to experience this kind of Coachella. Back when it was about bands, great bands.
My favorite Coachella performance I've even seen. The emotions of the crowd and the balloons lighting up to the beat after.
This song is an endless journey of many emotions.
Music is such an incredible thing
This song has made me into the person I’m today...thank you Arcade Fire
Most underrated band ever
Man. I was close to front row for this. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Unreal.
Impresionante, legendario, cualquier calificativo se queda corto.
Impressive, legendary, any qualifier falls short.
the world needs, and could heed, so much of this right now
I was there!!!!! Center. Best experience EVER!!!!!!!
Will never forget this set as long as I live. Pure joy.

These people living in the moment!!
This is euphoric ❤
I wish i was there.
2011 was a magical year. Every festival I went to seemed life changing. So many people at peace just groovin'
It's amazing how music unites people ❤
The best group. Perfect song.
A really important song in the history of mankind. Should be made a prayer
Still get chills as if I was there. Great times
That bass is amazing
First saw AF in Vancouver in 2010 and last in Toronto 2017. Really hoping that new material is coming!
this put smile on my face.
saw them live 4 times and still want more.
Can you imagine how they feel, with everyone singing?
Right?I wish I was there too .
Yeah fuck tupac and that kind of low produced music. These guys have the same thing to play but what's different is they provide melody
I cried when I saw this live and I cried when I watch it now.

The Coachella 2011 set is Arcade Fire's greatest hour, and I'd be surprised if they EVER top it. There should be videos up on other channels. Look it up, you won't regret it.
Love them so much!
In 2011 I took my 15 year old son to his rock concert in Moncton ... U2 and Arcade Fire ...an excellent Canadian band.
One of their best performances ever.
