    Thanks for the video and tools list. Definitely made building the truck a lot easier. I ended up using the D4L system from Orlando hunter and the ESC is way slower. Will probably have to upgrade electronics at some point.

      Thank you and I'm glad you found it useful. I think eventually I will also upgrade the ESC to at least have brake functionality, and I guess I will move the ts0002 one to a crawler.

    Can this fit or handle a more powerful / brushless motor?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому

      I haven't tried but I've seen others powering this truck with a furitek 8700kv and esc system. I've seen generic brushless options too which I might be tempted to try in the future. The rest of the drivetrain should be beefed up as well, such as the central cvd drive shaft and steel axle gears.

    I have also recently received my kit and I'm starting the build. Did you use foams in your tyres or you are running without? I'm considering how best to glue the tyres to the standard plastic rims without making a complete mess. Put glue on one groove at a time? Put glue in the groove in the wheel or directly onto the tyre?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому +1

      I did put the foam into the tires. Otherwise the tires are a bit too soft. I haven't glued mine yet. I'm not really sure the cleanest way to do this. I would put the tire partially on so the edge is in the middle of the rim. Apply some slower CA glue in the groove and then slide the edge of the tire into the groove. That's how I'd do it.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC Рік тому +1

      @@sammybaka I think I'll try to do one groove at a time and let the glue dry before doing the opposite side.

      Have you decided what electronics to go with? While I think the n30 motor is a good fit for this, I also saw some enticing brushless options during my research (i.e: not just furitek). My current thinking is that if the truck behaves well enough in outdoor settings and that I'm driving it a lot, I might have to go brushless then.

    • @reevesc87
      @reevesc87 Рік тому

      @@sammybaka other than furitek what other brushless options are there this size?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому +1

      I ran into this on ali (www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805408537783.html). Ignore the relatively expensive esc but the small brushless motor + gearbox seems like it can get the job done really well and inexpensively. I can then power it with a micro esc I already have.

    What are you supposed to do with the fuel tank at the rear? It needs to be removeable to get the battery in and out but there is no method provided to hold it in position.

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому +1

      The fuel tank thing clips into the chassis cage and it stays in place very securely. It's there to hold the battery in place and should be removable.

      @@sammybaka How was the quality of yours? Mine seems to have a few quality issues where parts don't fit correctly. For example, I bought an extra body. One body fits the mounts okay but the other simply won't fit the mounts as the holes are drilled in slightly different positions. That is not easy to rectify!

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому +1

      The main thing I ran into was the misaligned cage and bottom chassis plate, as described in the video. The 4 mounting holes on the body were not spaced out forward/backward enough, so I did need to elongate the two holes in the back. Everything else was pretty good for me.

  • @gaeljehnno
    @gaeljehnno Рік тому +1

    just got mine today, had some issue with some screw holes not in the correct aligment for the part with the motor mount(on the roll cage). I think i will use some epoxy and drill some new hole before anything else. I'm also waiting for some upgrade part and a brushless system, i hope i will able to make it all the way without breaking anything.

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому +1

      Yeah unfortunately Orlandoo has yet to fix that cage alignment issue with the bottom chassis plate in their current production. There are ways around it but we shouldn't have to deal with the bug. Your epoxy method sounds logical and it should make for a clean fix. What brushless setup are you going for? Are you also upgrading the driveline?

      @sammybaka  Рік тому +2

      @@LL-wc4wn @whatswiththissassylostchil322 I don't mind having both! Orlandoo Hunter's ecosystem with all their kits are in the 1:32 to 1:35 scale though. They share many components as a result like axles, shocks, drive shafts, motor, etc and I think they have a nice niche carved out for themselves. If they do 1:24, I would love them bringing in a whole collection too, but there will definitely be more competition against kyosho, axial, fms, etc.

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому +1

      These are the stock tires for this truck. I'm not sure if there are larger tires available from Orlandoo Hunter for these 18mm rims. There will be more challenges in wheel arch clearances though for larger tires.

    How hard is it to build that?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  11 місяців тому

      Due to the small size, a few steps were tricky. If you've built 1:28 kits like GL Racing or Atomic, then this particular Orlandoo kit is about 2x or 3x harder.
